Official Dancing With the Stars - Fall 2019

I just read that Artem is in talks to get his own Las Vegas residency. I would totally go to Vegas for that!

So maybe Nikki will make the switch over to dancing. As much as it would upset her wrestling fans, almost getting one's neck broken & being paralyzed must make one think about possibilities of a different future. She'd have to retire someday anyway. Maybe she'll do it now, as she & Artem can perform together.

So here's the newest dancing update and just brace yourself there are some changes!

theres a new creative team behind the dances

For the show’s first broadcast, there will not be a viewing audience vote, and only the judges will score the routines. Those scores will carry over and be combined with judges’ scores from week two, which also marks the first weekly live viewing audience vote of the season (via abc.com and SMS/text) – and the first elimination. The live votes will occur each week only during the live broadcast in the EDT/CDT time zones (but fans in all U.S. time zones may vote within that window).

It will be interesting to see if the judges do their job and score accurately on that first episode.

I see two potential problems:

Say, a person we are all thinking about and currently aren't naming, isn't the worst dancer. Even horribly bad dancer, George Hamilton, lasted 6 weeks. The judges do judge fairly on everyone's dancing, and he's not the worst. So he sticks around for a few weeks, gaining audience votes in those weeks. Sooner or later, I think we run into:

Potential problem 2 that factors into the voting:

"The live votes will occur each week only during the live broadcast in the EDT/CDT time zones (but fans in all U.S. time zones may vote within that window)."

HALF the country will not see the dances during the voting window every week. What are they going to base their votes on? The stars personalities (or other agendas.)

I think this season will never be a "dance competition." How can it be when half the country isn't getting to see the dances LIVE to base their votes on? :confused3

In a "normal" season with non-controversial contestants, I don't see this working well. YES, people always voted for their favorite star, personality being a huge factor for some getting far, like Carson Kressley. But, for the majority of seasons, when it came down to the final 4, the contestants usually were paired down to the 4 best dance couples.

In this season with a contestant in which people may be voting on, in both halves of the country, or reasons other than dancing, this is the makings of a disaster. :badpc:

Last year, this show got a new executive producer/showrunner. He was a former producer of X Factor. And this year ABC now has a new president of ABC Entertainment, as Channing Dungey went over to Netflix. Seems the two of them don't understand what this show has been about. :sad2:

Whereas, Tom Bergeron, has been with the show, 27 seasons, since the start. He is the host & anchor of the show. In my opinion, he had a right to voice his opinion and protest of this show being potentially focused away from being a DANCE competition.

Yes, that was my point. It took 8 shows to eliminate Supermarket Joe who was the worst dancer every single week except one. Bobby was the 2nd worst dancer for more than half of the show and the worst in the last two weeks (and still won).

As for the voting, I wonder if there was some voting hi-jinx when they allowed each timezone to vote or if they are just saving money. I know that they closed the loophole of using fake emails that was used during Bristol's season.

I think the fact that Supermarket Joe & Ginger Zee stuck around for so long had more to do with both of them being on other ABC shows. And the then head of ABC, Channing Dungey, or other heads stuck their noses into the show and gave a directive, that Joe & Ginger stick around for as long as possible, even winning - in Ginger's case. Except there was such a public & social media uproar over Ginger, that they backed down, so Ginger didn't win, and Joe stayed till almost the Finals. But, now Dungey is gone. So we will see how much the new head of ABC will have her hands on the show.

IF, as suspected, Bobby Bones HIRED faux voters to vote on his behalf to pad the votes, (as he openly BRAGGED he did something similar for another situation,) they may have been hired in the area of the country he lives/works in. He didn't want to leave a paper trail, like emailing across the country for people, so he talked to each person he hired directly, gave them money to buy a pile of old, prepaid Tracfones, and paid them off with cash for voting. So, they all came from the Nashville area.

It wouldn't be hard to buy a bunch of used Tracfones, super cheap and activate them for 90 days. I use the 2 I have, (one for personal & one for business,) to vote. Say, he allegedly hired 50 people. Gave them each 20 phones. Several phones are activated with different area codes, according to the different time zones. And each Monday, they sat there for 3 hours and voted for Bobby with the various phones & time zones each week. During the weeks where one can vote 10 times or more, all those votes added up tremendously, times 50 people, times 20 phones. :headache:

Presumably, NOW, if people can only vote during the voting window, "hired" voters can only humanly get in so many votes in total. Instead of a 3 hr window, (plus online, one was able to vote overnite,) they only have the 10 min voting window during the show. So the producers may be hoping to cut down many of the alleged faux votes. :scratchin

But half the country loses out on doing REAL voting based on actual dancing. :(

I have missed voting in my timezone and the system did not allow me to vote. It told me that voting was closed in my timezone. As much as I'd love to believe that Bobby cheated, I don't think he did. He just had a HUGE fan base that voted for him because they loved him. I would take a whole lot more than 50 (or 500) tracfones to overcome his 15 point deficit in week 8. He had 45 points and Juan Pablo had a perfect score or 60. Juan Pablo went home and didn't make it to the finals.

I think it was a combo that Juan Pablo didn't have a very soft & warm personality, so not enough votes, along with faux votes for Bobby Bones.

That brings up again how Potential problem 2 that factors into the voting. With half the country not seeing the dances, they will vote for their favorite personalities. So, if Juan Pablo was in this season instead, he would have been voted off weeks sooner. :(

There may be another pair. Keo is in Nashville apparently

TMZ thinks Keo may be partnered with Mary Wilson. They interviewed Mary on their show. But, she was good at not giving anything away. :thumbsup2 She did look very relaxed and said she was having a good time. So, that sounds like it's NOT Keo. :lmao:

They kept Alan, Brandon and Keo and got rid of Artem? That makes no sense to me.
I saw Keo dancing on GMA the morning that the new contestants were announced and he looked like he was much improved, more comfortable dancing than I've ever seen before.
