Thanks for your message, DisnLuvr. I think Bradk was right when he explained that there are D23 Disney fans, like us, who already know the significance of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. There are those of us who watched, and still think about, unusual Disney movies like Song of the South or The Black Cauldron. We still remember... in grade school, we did book report after book report about Walt Disney, or got up in front of a classroom to speak about his creative accomplishments. We understand how Roy Disney made the right financial decisions to help his brother's dreams come true. The list goes on.

The idea of D23 is special to me. I knew it was made for fans like us the second I heard about it. This new D23 membership is already helping me to bring back some of the deeper feelings I had for the Disney brand when I was a member of Virtual Magic Kingdom (VMK). (I did shed a few real tears when it was time for that community to go away.)

Disney is such a part of who I am today that this is a price I can afford.

Disney knows that fans like us care. We care about the brand very deeply. I think D23 is Disney's most gracious and elegant way of bringing fans like us in to share the magic with them.

My orders STILL have not shipped, nor have they updated on Disney Shopping website (ordered Mar 10 first thing in the morning). I finally sent an email to customer service and received a generic reply: "this order is currently processing for shipment; please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery". So, no idea if/when things will be shipped. Darn it.

I decided to join D23... wasn't going to but I was persuaded by some of the justifications of it on the DIS.. I checked out the magazine at Barnes and Noble and I liked it..

I got confirmation from Disneyshopping of my order.. but I haven't gotten any D23 emails.. should I be getting anything like that?

Ijoined to be a charter member, we will give disney the benefit of the doubt, if it does work out we are charter members!!! if not, it will go next to my year book, magic kingdom club, and more...

I joined on the 10th and received my launch date mickey t-shirt today, although I had gotten an email stating that the t-shirt was on backorder until April . I haven't received the membership stuff yet.

I have been using my email address to log on and buy D23 stuff. I bought a gift membership for someone else, and they can log on (as they already had a shopping account) but it won't let him buy D23 stuff.

I am having the same problem. I have a member number but can not do anything with it

I'm thinking as time goes by..there may be more perks included in D23 as well, maybe discounts while at the parks etc. If not, well, no law that says you have to sign up next year.

I'm waiting for my starter kit.

I got the same generic email last night. I"m a bit annoyed. It'll definitely be over 2 weeks at least before it gets here. It always takes them 1 week from when it ships to get here and it hasn't shipped yet.

Well, my "Are you 23" shirt has finally shipped. But my membership kit and lunch day shirt haven't shipped yet. I guess that's better than nothing...lol.

My hubby got me my D23 membership as a VERY early b-day gift (it's in July). We talked about getting it and decided when the magazine is almost 70 dollars for the year buying the membership wasn't that much more. So far I like what I see...not that it's shipped yet. LOL
