I called the cake hotline and talked to a girl that wasn't all too friendly and helpful about ordering a cake. I want to have a cake delivered to CRT on my DDs birthday (9/28)

She told me they don't do any type of tiered cakes and has no idea how to get one delievered to CRT. Is this true? I just want a small 2 tiered cake, nothing fancy, but to make it look like a castle. I don't know who else to call or if this is something that they can even do now :sad1:

MissMommy928

I too got someone not too friendly the first time I called the cake hotline.:sad2: Here it has been said that special cakes can be made by the CR bakery & delivered to CRT, however I was'nt able to find a CM confirming that even after I called CR private dining.

I also will be celebrating my DDs birthday (on 9/22) at CRTprincess:.
The last call I made to the cake hotline, the lady for CRT told me an 8" cake would be a possibility to have some of my requests (not 2-tiered, but personalized with flowers, color I choose). It's gonna be too much for just DD & me, but I'm hoping they'll keep the leftovers for us.

We were wanting to get a specialty cake ordered for our dinner at T-Rex but when I called WDW there was no option for T-Rex?? I tried the email but it keeps bouncing back. Is there another number I could call ??

T-Rex is not technically a WDW restaurant, just like the RFC isn't - both are owned by Landry's. If you want something from T-Rex you should call T-Rex directly. I am not sure if they even do specialty cakes there.

Hi everyone,

I know I saw somewhere the info to order a cake. I want to order a cake for My dads 60th b-day to have for dessert at O'Hana. Can anyone direct me where to go?? I can't seem to find the info anymore. Thanks so much!!!

Call the number for the cake hotline on the first page of this thread and follow the prompts for the Polynesian and Ohana. :thumbsup2

I just talked to the chef at AKL yesterday and he is great so nice! He is able to make a cake for my dd 10th bday and it can be gluten free!! She has celiacs so this is a HUGE thing for her to have a special cake made just for her other then what mommy can make. I am super excited! She always makes comments how she can never have a store bought cake again when ever she goes to a party or it is her bday so this is hopefully going to blow her away!:banana::banana:

I am torn between the 6 inch and the 10 inch. There will be 6 of us but it is out 1st night there we are doing it and we have a villa right in AKLV. so we can easily store it to snack on later.

I emailed him some of the pictures of cakes I saw on here so he kind of knows the feel I am going for.
I think we are going to do fondant in the colors of Sleeping Beauty. Maybe have a rose on it for Brier Rose and maybe a crown with flowers the colors of Flora, Fauna and Maryweither. Personally I am not fond of the look of edible images so I figure subtle hints of Sleeping Beauty would work. I hope!

I finalized my birthday cake order with CR private dining this morning. I spoke with Sally and asked for a fondant cake with flowers - I couldn't think of any specific designs and I didn't want a screen print of a character on top of the cake. She said they had chocolate statues but I'm one of those people who'd probably never eat the statue. She spoke to Brian and said she had everything all set up with him - I was hoping I'd get to talk to him myself but I know he's super busy. I hope she told him no pink

I'll post pics when I get back. We're having it with our dinner at The Wave. I was a little bummed about not getting it on my actual birthday but the V&A people weren't too keen on the idea. Definitely not as helpful as Sally! Party poopers :upsidedow

I reached CR's private dining by calling the cake hotline and following the prompts until I got to CR. I've also heard that you can call the resort directly and ask for private dining.

Good luck :)

i left a message with pat on monday, the person who took the message said she would call me back on tuesday, but never did..when should i call back? i dont wanna be a PITA..we need the cake for 9/30.

I just talked to the chef at AKL yesterday and he is great so nice!

That is great to know!! We will be taking some newbies with us in December during my birthday trip and staying at AKV. I would LOVE to get a special cake on the day of check-in and knowing that the chef is making a special cake is encouraging since last May they told me they could only provide what was available through private dining. I'll definately be giving him a call closer to December since I'd love to have something low-sugar since DH is diabetic.

You'll have to let us know what you end up going with and how it turns out.

I will certainly let you know! No clue if they can do the low sugar but he said they are using one of 2 brand mixes with all natural ingredients so I loved that! Disney is amazing with my daughters Celiacs so I am thrilled in so many areas!
He said AKL is new to the cake thing so he didn't have anything to show me but I trusted him:)

So in planning for a thumper cake, I have a question. I've seen a lot of the chocolate statues and the edible images. While those are nice, it is not quite what I was invisioning.

Does anyone know if the GF can make a thumper? I think i've seen animals, people, etc done with marzipan or something like it on cooking shows. Can they do this or is my only option statues and edible images?. I'd like a "real" looking Thumper if possible.

I have never seen anything like you are requesting. Most of the 3D figures are Mickey/Minnie/Tinkerbell/Donald and Goofy I believe. The other White chocolate characters are 2D or flat. I believe they would do one of two things for you... a 2D white chocolate image or an edible image on the cake. But, your question would be better directed to a Dis Cake designer personally.

Yea that's so great for your DD! :goodvibes I'm also glad to hear the good report from AKL. We don't have any special dietary needs, but I want to order a Halloween themed cake for our trip next month. It's our anniversary and we're taking our 3-year-old to her second MNSSHP. I think I'm going to call tomorrow.

We got back a couple of days ago and had a wonderful vacation. Our Haunted Mansion cake at California Grill was just as gorgeous in person as the original pictures posted here. Brian outdid himself! It was a huge hit with my husband as well as my teen sons who love the HM as much as I do.

Ours was vanilla cake with custard & strawberry filling. YUM!!!! I am already looking for a reason to order a cake the next time we go to Disney.

I'm posting pictures anyway but it looks just like the one the original posted shared.

The haunted mansion cake is again STUNNING :yay:

I just called today and ordered our cake for Cali Grill at CR for next Thursday. I was back and forth and finally decided to bite the bullet and order one.

I spoke with Sally who was an absolute peach to deal with. I think I sounded a little bonkers with my requests lol I asked for a vanilla cake with strawberry and custard filling with the ganache frosting. I also asked for it to be Cinderella and Prince Charming themed as we are celebrating our 8th wedding anniversary, and we will be in Disney without the children. So kind of romantic

The bonky part is, I asked if they could somehow tint the ganache blue if possible :rotfl: Reason being, is the ganache is wonderful tasting, but not as pretty as say fondant. I really am hoping for a colorful cake, really pretty but didnt want to lose the ganache. I asked if Brian could use his creativity to come up with something wonderful. So we will see what comes out. I cant wait :rolleyes1

I am sure it will be not only beautiful, but taste delicious. Good thing we like leftovers lol
We will need an additional sugar high after completing the EE 5k on Saturday.

I think I know the answer to this already but thought I would post just incase. We're planning a trip to WL in Dec. I don't recall having WDW xmas cakes so I was thinking of something else...

The mini cakes with the castle on top and or the glass slipper..those are just at GF resort right? You can't have them delievered to WL or pick them up at GF??
We had a cake from WCC for mothers day the one year but it was pretty simple saying happy mothers day with strawberries on the top with chocolate...I'm looking for something a little more upscale...Christmas Celebration being the theme.

THANKS!!
