Does anyone have a picture of a Belle themed cake? I am looking to have one made for my DD5 while we are there next month.

What are the differences between the capabilities or prices (or anything, I guess!) between the GF bakery and the Contemporary bakery?

I am looking to get a cake made for our 1st Anniversary/Husband's 28th birthday and we have dinner reservations for 1900 PF and Cali Grill. All this time I have been anticipating having a cake made for the 1900 PF reservation, but now I'm thinking otherwise--mainly because the reservation for PF is for 6:45PM and the reservation for CG is for 8:00, and I'm pretty positive that either we won't cut the cake at dinner, or we won't be able to eat it all at once (duh, I guess haha) and will need to bring it back to the hotel (we are staying at Pop).

If we have an early dinner, we may want to go to do other things and won't want to waste time going back to the hotel to put the cake away. Does that make sense?

My main want to have the cake made by the GF bakery was because I was looking for something to be very detailed and 'AWESOME' but upon seeing the quite fantastic HM cake by CakeManBri, I am shifting my thoughts to the Contemporary.

I will be calling both to get an idea of flavors/price/detail within the next 2 weeks, but I figure you guys here might be able to give me a heads up!

Thanks all!

Cakemanbri- I called the cake hotline, and pushed the prompts for CP... I got a woman named Sandy who was NO HELP! She told me the only cake that I could get at CP, would be the standard celebrate today cake for 21 dollars, and my only options for that would be to leave it the way it comes with the mickey marzipan disc or remove the disc and they could write a name...
I told her that I had SEEN custom cakes being made at this location, and she snapped at me and told me that disney does not have a website with cakes on it.. I tried to explain disboards, but she really didn't want to hear it.. My dinner ressie is 3 weeks away, and I'd really like to do a (small) custom cake for my mom.. do you think I should call back and hope I get someone else on the line?:scared1:
The cake order hotline for Magic Kingdom is 407-284-7091. Just leave a message and the cast members with ll get back to you as soon as possible. I know that the options they give are very limited but if there is something you have your heart set on let them know. Stress your request. If that doesn't work ask them if there is any way the bakery can accomadate your request.

Just wanted to drop a quick note to say how much I've really enjoyed this thread!!! I'm so glad I came across this board. I enjoyed all the ideas and pictures of the cakes. You guys has helped me come up with some wonderful ideas for our upcoming trip.

Going to be calling within the next couple of days to order my son's bday cake.

It is funny because I though my DH would have a fit over the price of the cakes but when he saw the pictures he is all for it and wants my son's bday cake to be awesome.

Just a quick question:

I thought someone put on here that the mickey head stamps are only offered at the GF. My son was wanting to get the stamps on his cake and we are dining at Chef Mickey's on his bday. I figured cakemanbri or someone could answer that one for me. If you do offer them there are they only done in gold and silver or can we choose the color(my son wants them in blue).

TIA :)
Yes this cake is availible at Chef Mickey's.

You can't customize 6" cakes. Only 8" and larger cakes. That is what she probably didn't understand.

Here's what the Pastry Chefs shared with me: Each resort has its own chocolate molds and they DO NOT share, and they often will not delivery to resorts with whom they do not partner. Call private dining at the resort where you are staying to ask. Also, if your heart is set on that EXACT cake, call the resort where it was created, and ask them if they will deliver it to your table for lunch/dinner. Obviously, this will require you to make ADR at the appropriate resort restaurants.

Hope this helps!

Does anyone know if any of the Chef's/Bakeries have a 3-D mold of Ariel?

Thanks!

I'm 95% sure fondant is an extra $15.

edited to add: for an 8 inch cake...don't know if it's more for the 10 inch.

Unfortunately no. Only Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Tinkerbell, and Belle.

I assume this was in reply to the 3D mold question ;)

That being said, can I assume that Ariel can be printed as an edible image on flat white chocolate to "stand up" on a cake?

CakeManBri,

Can the Haunted Mansion cake be made in a yellow cake with straweberry filling and buttercream icing and be decorated the way it was or similar?

That was an 8" cake at the smallest, right?

We're dining at California Grill on 9/10 and I would love to order that cake or at least very similar to it for our anniversary.

cakemanbri- im sorry to pester you, and i noticed you said that a 6 inch cannot be customized....several pages back a poster had a 6 inch customized at boma as a camo cake. so i'm a little confused...seeing as thats what i want and its our turn to order soon, i just wanted some clairfication. thanks!

I know I posted this earlier but i'm not sure I got a response.

I know some were mentioning cakes being ordered already for November. I have heard the standard is two weeks ahead of time. Do you think it is too early to order it? Or better yet, do you think it would be wise to order now rather than later? My paranoid self would hate for them to tell me they are booked up at the GF!!!:scared1:

Please experts, let me know your thoughts!

Sorry I forgot to include this. The Mickey's can only be stamped in silver and gold but can be hand piped in any color.

Thanks for answering my ?'s Cakemanbri. I will be calling private dining tomorrow to place my order. Hopefully I'll get to talk directly with you about it.

Trish
