This whole cake thread has been very interesting to me. We are going to Disney at the end of Sept to celebrate a number of big family events --
1) Our son's adoption
2) My SIL's 30th
3) Niece's sweet 16
4) FIL's birthday
5) IL's anniversary
We are planning 3 group dinners -- Mickey's BBQ, 'Ohanas, and another to be determined. Love to surprise everyone with a grand celebration cake. First question: can we get such a cake at either of our already chosen locations (maybe 'Ohana)? Next question: if these locations don't work where could we do it and meet the eating needs of a big group who range in age from a year to 82? Finally, any suggestions about how to decorate a cake that will celebrate our family's many wonderful events?
Thanks!
Kathie
I would think you'd be fine doing it at O'Hana. How about a cake that has the white chocolate Mickey in the tux and lots of curling ribbon streamers? Check out the third picture here: http://www.wedding-flowers-and-reception-ideas.com/unique-wedding-cake.html It's way more cake than you need but they may be able to do something similiar on an 8 or 10 inch cake.

We had podium cake at Tony's back in September - dunno if that's recent enough - and it tasted like a standard grocery store cake: thick, sugary buttercream and light spongey cake. I happen to like grocery store cake, so I was OK with it, but I know lots of people prefer whipped cream frosting. It had orange and black sprinkles for Halloween. I think now they're more confetti-like.
