Maciec -- You totally inspired me!! I just made a lunch reservation at the GF Cafe, so that we can have a light lunch and then get the cake there. I just ordered my cake, a tall 6" with rolled fondant and gold stamp mickeys, and the white chocolate castle topper. There is a picture of it on the 1st page. It was $55. I am SOOOOO excited, my husband will love it. I hope I can keep the secret for that long!! I really didn't want to change my dinner reservation, because we got a table for 6 during the fireworks at the CG, and that is his favorite. YEA!!!

When are you going? I ask because that's the cake I think I'm getting my dd for her 13th birthay and want to order it but not too late, but not too soon!!!
We're going to celebrate on Oct 25...is it too early to order it now?

I am not going until November. So, I don't think that ordering for October is too soon. I was just so excited that I couldn't wait to order my cake!! :cool1:

Disney says to order special order cakes/slippers anywhere from 2 weeks to no later than 48 hours before.

If you do order more than 2 weeks before, I'd definitely call back, when your trip is closer, to confirm. I've read, more than once, of folks ordering a cake really early and then getting to the restaurant only to find that there is no cake fo them; their order disappeared.

Just an FYI.

Thanks...think I'll wait until the first of Oct, then call.

We are going Oct 12th eating Oct 13th I should be getting close to being able to call. I want a glass slipper for my DGD 4 and I have told her she is going to have one. I might reverify 48hrs before we leave to make sure.

Does anyone know exactly what is in the "Glass Slipper" cake?

It's not a cake, it's a glass slipper shaped chocolate filled with chocolate mousse and dotted with raspberries on top. Sometimes it's served with a small chocolate cake-like pastry on the side.

I just ordered the Mickey Head cake for my son's birthday at Chef Mickey!!

I would like to order the white chocolate mickey with the chocolate covered strawberries for my son for his birthday. That is his favorite thing. For special treats I get him Godivas. Does anyone know who to call for this? We are staying at the poly. Also wandering on the cost. TIA

I ordered mine at the Boardwalk through their in-room dining. It was a total of $50 plus taxes/fees. so I think it was $55. Mickey alone was $25 so the 4 strawberries were $20.

You would call the Poly directly to see if they offer it; their in-room dining to be exact. Also you might want to go to allearnet.com and see if Poly's in room dining mentions it or not. Even if they don't have it on their menu, they probably could get a hold of a Mickey statue as they are made at the GF.

Good luck.

Are the cakes at the Boardwalk Bakery always available, or do I need to order one in advance? Will I be able to pick up a cake from the BW Bakery and then bring it into Biergarten?

Thanks!

I would like to get the tall castle cake 6 inch including the gold mickey stamps but is it possible to get it in a 2 layer cake and not a 4 layer cake? Also I know there will be leftovers. We will be dining at GF Cafe for lunch. Will they wrap up any leftovers and can they hold it until we are ready to head back and pick it up before we head back to our resort over at the AKL? Or do you think it would be easier to eat lunch and have the cake and take the cake back to the AKL and head back to MK? Also is it possible to do fondent on the mini castle cake and have them put the gold mickey stamps on there?

Anyone else come back with any photos or tips for cake ordering???

I know that Disney has wonderful food and desserts but does anyone know where the "tastiest" bakery in Disney is. I really want to get the Mickey Face cake but there seems to be so many varieties.

We had the mickey face cake from the Grand Floridian last December for my daughter's birthday.

It was absolutely delicious. I would go with this one again!!!!

ANYONE??? :confused3

Hello to all, I have just read through this thread, and right now I would give anything for a big piece of chocolate cake with an ice cold glass of milk! :scratchin

I am looking for any information on cakes from WL Private Dining. My main questions would be:
Do they do screen images on cakes?
Can you have a 6' inch cake customized?
If they have figurines, what are the choices?
Any other cool dessert items on the private dining menu?

Any other information or experiences or suggestions would be great...
I plan on having a cake delivered to a bday wishes cruise..... :ssst:

Thanks!

:) Just subscribing to this thread. I want to get a 10th anniversary cake in March...just need to figure out where to have the dinner first!
