I have read as much as I can on this thread but so far have not seen this answered. I was wondering if you can order anything at the Cali Grill, and if so if it is good. Has anyone ordered for CG before? We are going there to celebrate our annivarsary in November.
Thanks......

Hey Lynn
Thanks for the report!!
You have put my mind at rest as we have CR booked for DS's 9th birthday in December. We have menus and divers arranged too but I was getting jumpy about the cake following all the bad reports posted on this board. I was considering picking a cake up from Boardwalk Bakery on the way to CR (I would have ordered it first of course). That way I could be sure I would have a cake!!! Now, though, I think I will order through CR
Did you order through the hotline or via Debi?
How much was the cake?
Do you have a picture you can post? I would love to see it!!!
Sorry for all the questions!!
Hope you had a good trip despite the pixie-dust being in short supply sometimes:sad2:
Hugs as always
Joanne

Loved our cake from CR!! I ate some more the night before last and it was almost as good as the first time! :cloud9: Pictures will be below :)

I just got off the phone with Poly Dining and was told the same thing, $30!! I asked for a 10" cake with a pic of stitch as Elvis on top. Yes, I got Darlene too!! I went ahead and ordered, I was so shocked I wasn't sure what to say except "really????" Please let me know if you get any ohter info, but $75 seems just ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd also call back. Also, I've learned from my recent experience what you're told on the phone and what you're charged are two VERY different things!

I guess I should have said "edible decorations". I told them that I did not want the image laid on top of the cake..I wanted something added to the top of the cake.

I could see those decorations costing a bit more than just the printed image.

Ok since I started putting them in my TR, it's ok to share over here now too :)

This is our cake from the GFC. It was ordered as a vanilla cake with white buttercream icing with a Cars theme. Here's what we got:

Overall, pretty good but not at all what I was expecting. Corbin (birthday boy) has a peanut allergy and had NO problems with this cake at all!! We were very pleased.

Here's the mini-castle cake I ordered for DMIL. Again, I ordered a vanilla mini castle cake:

According to my DH who tried some, he said it was amazing. It was the cheesecake-not vanilla cake, but that was fine really.

Overall, happy with the taste and quality. Would order again from GF and follow up with them to make sure all was well.

The waitress had no clue what to charge for the cakes. I'd given her my spreadsheet earlier with the cake info on it and had happened to put down the $32 for the 8" cake we got just so I'd have an idea of what I was spending going along planning.

She ended up charging us $32 for both cakes PLUS took off our Tables in Wonderland (previously DDE card) discount. I think I paid about $30 for both cakes with a tip! Can't get a better deal than that!!

CR cake pictures will be here soon...I had computer problems last night and couldnt' get the pictures off my external hard drive. The problem's been corrected so I'll get them off there tonight!

Please feel free to ask any questions

Thanks for sharing newtodis. Can´t wait to see the pics from CR :)

newtodis -- I see what you mean about the Cars cake. It's pretty, but very adult looking, not at all child-like. Thank you for sharing the photos.

THAT is a GREAT cake!! (not cars, or kid cake but perfect for my dd turning 12~~)

and I hope I get your server and the $30 charge!! I'd love to do the mini castle cheesecake for dh and I and a regular cake for dd... and our first night we're at 1900 Park Fare - I am just not going to spend $30 on an "image"!! (I know mean mom!)

Can somebody please help me, I have been trying to navigate through the official Birthday/ Anniversary cake thread and find pics of some cakes that i had read about for my DD's 13th birthday, and there are hundreds of pages to go through and I can't find what I am looking for. I read that someone ordered a triple layered tinkerbelle birthday cake with strawberries and custard, I saw the pic a while back and now that I am trying to make a decision, I can't find it. I was also trying to find pics of the castle cake but not the mini one. She loves the castle and she loves tinkerbelle if anyone has some pics of cakes that they can post for me to look at i would really appreciate it. We are staying at the RPC in the GF and I would love to have them take care of everything for me.

Has anyone had a Peter Pan and/or Capt Hook themed cake? I would love to see a pic of one of you have!!!!

My ds absolutely loves both of them and I would love to get him a cake with one or both on it. We changed our ADR's around some so we're eating at 1900 Park Faire and I'm planning on ordering the cake from the GF.

Thanks :)

Did they misspell time on the castle cake? It looks like "tine"? :confused3
You're right, it does. It's missing the third cursive M 'hump' making it look like an N. I guess someone either misspelled it or needs to brush up on his/her cursive writing. ;)

Pretty cakes & really cute kid!!:goodvibes

Does anyone know if the castle cake is available at Narcoosee's?

We are considering celebrating our neice's 6th birthday either at Narcoosee's (if she could get the castle cake there) or at a Cape May breakfast (for the characters & we couldn't get CRT). Does anyone know what they can do or have suggestions for cakes at Cape May?

I am sure that my question has been answered before. How much do the mini castle cakes cost. Also how big are they? I was thinking about ordering a cake at 1900 Park Fare for my daughter's 12 birthday, our ADR is at 4:55pm. We are celebrating it the same evening we are attending MNSSHP and don't want to be carrying leftover cake with us.

It's $25. It is meant to serve one person. They are probably 3 inches across and 4 inches high??

I apologize ahead of time because I haven't read through all the pages, but I need some advice. I need to order a cake or 2 cakes to surprise my twin nieces when we eat at the castle the end of October. They only like chocolate cake with vanilla frosting. Can anyone tell me where I would order a cake from that delivers to CRT and is there any recommendation of a favorite 'basic' but cute/pretty cake. They will be 8.
Thanks in advance!! I don't have kids and this is stressing me out trying to pick something they would like!!! :)

Tina, please read the first post that gives instructins on where to call to order cakes. that should provide you with the number to call ::)

Thanks, I did see the # for CRT. I guess I just got confused with everyone talking about cakes being delivered, I didn't think I did it right through them. I will give them a call and I guess they will tell me what kind of designs they have  I think I'm just making this more stressful than it should be!! :)

Call the GF and ask to speak to in-room dining or your concierge. Tell them what you want and they should be able to help you

good luck!

Does anyone have any information on getting a customized cake from Disney, or a store surrounding Disney?

---and if it is a store surrounding Disney, do you think they'll deliver?

We will be at Disney for my Mothers birthday, and I'd like to get a custom cake (Small one) just to celebrate it but with a touch of Disney added.

Can anyone tell me about WL bakery; what they offer, is it just cakes?

If you have ordered anything from there, how was it and what were your options? I would love to have something woodsy.

Kirrrby, read the first page of this post and then call the phone number corresponding to the information that you need! :cheer2:
