OFFICIAL April 2012 DISers! 2 months and counting!

Paid off the trip today!!! I guess the lines were backed up from being down yesterday ~ I was on hold forever!!

About the running ~ I REALLY want to run a half marathon, it's on the bucket list. However, I too, hate running!! We are not going to Disney next year, and I'm seriously considering doing the princess half just to get my disney fix...I think that would motivate me enough to train:lmao:

It DEFINITELY is good motivation - give it a try :thumbsup2

no mickey mail here either and we are 42 days out! I think I might start getting out the suitcases. Its either that or I keep messing with our ADR's and I need to stop that.

lol  I give you permission to get a suitcase going - your almost at the one month mark now so GO FOR IT :)

What all comes in Mickey mail besides luggage? All the park tickets and everything?

I didn't (couldn't) get our flight included in the package, but got the hotel, park tickets and dining plan.

Also, because our flight arrives at 9:50 in the evening, I was told that we shouldn't wait for ME to get our luggage. Does that mean we don't use the tags? Sorry, this is our first trip to WDW, so this part confuses me some.

For those of you interested in the Flower and Garden festivities at Epcot, Disney has launched a mobile website at http://m.epcotinbloom.com/

Also, you probably heard about the Disney Mobile Magic app finally being released for the iPhone last week.....cant wait to start using this especially for the Fastpass return times!

Mobile Magic is good, but Touringplans App was MUCH more accurate in October. I think because it is updated by people in the parks, not by Disney. I don't really use it for the touring plans, or even for the projected crowd levels (I like easywdw better) but for the Ride times - it is AWESOME!!!! However, you have to pay for it.

No Mickey Mail yet! (But my friend who is arriving on 3/28 got hers yesterday)

I did, however, have my first WDW-related dream last night. I dreamt that we got to Hollywood Studios and TSMM was down for refurb and DD was so disappointed!

31 days! (stupid Leap Year making my trip an extra day away! :rotfl2:)

I'm actually from MA. I have 2 hockey boys (well 3 if you include DH). Our season went great this year. DS14 played JV H.S. and for his bantam team (still doing that). DS10 is a squirt. He was in a tournament over the weekend and won his div. He also scored his first goal of the season. He usually plays defense and they put him in center for the first 2 games of the tournament. I was a little nervous at first until he scored :yay:
Too bad about your DS. Hopefully he'll be better for LAX. We're putting DS14 in a checking clinic over the summer- that stuff makes me so nervous.

Wow busy two boys that play! sounds like a great season and YAY for the first goal of the season.. My DS is right wing or center but isn't a big scorer. He is only playing HS now but for years we did school and our local travel team (I'm glad those hectic days are behind us but loved it at the time) Checking is definately nerve wracking but a clinic is good to help learn how to check right and get checked right..

You will get your park tickets at resort check-in. You are correct, DO NOT put the yellow ME tags on your luggage, but retrieve it yourself from baggage claim, then head on down to the ME area. In your MM you will receive a booklet that has a map explaining how to get to the ME area. Hope this helps.

I need some help if possible!

We are taking our almost 5 year old granddaughter on her first trip to WDW. We will only be there 4 nights and 5 days with the last day being spent at the resort before departure for the airport. I was thinking two days at MK, one day at AK and one day at HS, skipping Epcot altogether. Now, I'm second guessing myself b/c Epcot has so much to offer small ones.

Could someone please give me advise about which parks to skip if any? DH and I go every year, so are familiar with all the parks, but not from a 5 year old's standpoint. We are not getting park hoppers, which kinda freaks me out, but felt it wouldn't be worth it for such a short trip. Any advice would be appreciated! TIA!

If you can swing going to Epcot, I would...maybe a half day on your last day? But if not, I would keep it just like you have it ~ 2 days at MK, and 1 each at DHS and AK. My 6 year old enjoyed Epcot when she was 4 and 5, but I don't think she would have missed it if we hadn't gone. Have a great trip!

It is extremely busy and hectic but I do love it! However looking forward to baseball season- much more laid back.

my kids are going to have early dismissal because of SNOW! Maybe a snow day tomorrow or a delay. I HATE snow, but don't mind them being home :lovestruc Maybe we will start going through our summer clothes and listen to some Magical Mouse Radio :flower3: 41 days Anyone else here staying at AKV? We are staying in a studio and was wondering if we would have access to the DVC laundry room on the 5th floor. Thinking of packing waaay less clothes and just wash and wear again!

Yay a snow day! Well not really I hate snow. I was so happy we really didn't get much this year. We're only suppose to get 2-4 in. here. When did it start snowing for you? They told us early this afternoon.
I can't help you with the laundry question, but I had always said I would NEVER do laundry on vacation and I tried doing it last yr. just so I would pack less. It wasn't so bad I put the clothes in, went to pool then back to throw in dryer. So it is a good idea to make you pack less. I am a way over packer.

Snow stinks! We have not had any snow days since that awful Oct 31st storm. This still counts as a full day because they are getting dismissed at 1:15, hoping that it doesn't amount to much. Supposed to get maybe up to 6 inches, not too much, praying it switches to rain and tomorrow is a regular day.

I don't mind doing laundry on vacation! I don't need to pack as many outfits that way, I am just hoping that someone can fill me in if its true that the DVC laundry room is free? 1br's have laundry in the rooms, and I heard that there washers/dryers on the floor where we are staying (5th) you need key access.

I am so happy that even though my boys are getting bigger they still get just as excited for our Disney trip! I am hoping it lasts through the teen years :worship: I know its not always the case

I know what you mean. My boys still love to go too. My DH wanted to go somewhere different on vacation this year, but I talked him into going back b/c the boys are getting big fast. I want to go to Disney for as long as they are willing.;)
I'll be sad when they say they don't want to.
I need to go through their clothes too. I should've done it last week while on vacation. I know DS14 needs new flip flops.
They're saying snow probably won't start til later in the afternoon now :)

Anyone who has an Alamo rental car should check their rates today! We had a minivan for 10 days that wasn't budging below $600... until today! I just rebooked for $374!

I'm getting sooo excited. I'm on hold with Disney since they have my address wrong. 20 minute wait, but no big deal because I'm listening to "it's a great big beautiful tomorrow"

I've heard of people having Disny dreams but i fortunately have never ever had a bad disney dream. Not even a good one. LOL - now a good dream i would like to have but I can settle for disney day dreams. hahahaha!

ew, snow days :( Better than never a snow day though - we NEVER get snow days here - they may cancel the busses but school is still open. I put my limit is that i will not make dd go when it's close to 50 below!! C -celcius and farenheit meet up at 40 below so you can guess how cold that is.

WOW!! That's great! good for you :thumbsup2 more money to splurge on disney treats now. :goodvibes

that makes it all worthwhile - gotta love disney music

It's soooo not busy at work today, so I have been Disney-fied all day. :goodvibes I am getting so excited!! I want my trip to be here NOW.

I am once again considering TiW. Do any of you use that? I'm not sure if it makes sense or not to spend $75 to save $100...so really only netting $25 in actual savings... :confused3 I should have bought it when we upgraded to annual passes in Oct; I'm not sure why I didn't think of it!! ugh. We had too much rain when I was there. It had me completely frazzled!!

I agree w/ you that touringplans is what we'll be using for the standby wait times for the rides as Disney's offical posted standby wait times are frequently inaccurate. But, I do think Mobile Magic will be more accurate with the Fastpass return times so that's what we'll mostly use it for - me trying to time the FP runs so that we can get the right return time window.

Ohhh I got my Mickey Mail today!!! This trip just got VERY real. Time to go vacation shopping this weekend, woohoo!!!!
