OFFICIAL April 2012 DISers! 2 months and counting!

We didn't mind Sci Fi. The atmosphere was really neat our family thought and the food wasn't the BEST but the shake was great and the neat environment made it a wonderful experience for us anyway. However we are not huge food people - if food is that important maybe avoid it I guess but it is very neat to try out. DH and DD13 were sad that we aren't going back but we want to try others this time.

I also picked Sci-Fi to eat at and now am a little nervous about that. I thought the atmosphere looked pretty cool and the kids would like it. Hopefully it will be just fine.
I have not received my Mickey mail yet either. I am hoping soon!!!!:goodvibes

I think I am going to keep our ADR for Sci-Fi. No harm in trying it out. I love the sound of the red-velvet cheesecake on the menu. Also, it just looks like a cool place. I will go in not expecting too much from the food, and maybe it will turn out ok, haha. It works for when I go to the movies!

No Mickey mail for me yes either. Does it come in regular mail? Or does UPS or FedEx drop it off?

I bet my family has eaten at Sci Fi at least 10 times over the years. It has always been clean. It's a fun, relaxing restaurant and the food is good. The chocolate milkshakes are awesome!!!!

We've eaten at the Sci-Fi a few times now and have never had a problem. Plus part of the fun is just the atmosphere and the cheesy movies they show. I wouldn't let one picture keep you from going.

Surprised you made ADR for Sci-Fi. We just walked in there on our last trip, it was empty.

I wasn't sure if it was a walk-in place or not. I've seen a lot of people on the DIS talk about eating there, so I thought I'd do an ADR just in case. It's good to know that it may be empty, so we can alter our plans if needed.

Hi Kathy,
My DD and I have similar itinerary:

4/22 - Epcot - ARBH - Lunch
4/23 - HS - SciFi
4/24 - MK - TTS
4/25 - resort hopping
4/26 - Epcot - R&C Dinner
4/27 - HS - Mama M's Diner
4/28 - resort hopping & HDR

We are staying at BWV this week for our 1st of 2 weeks.

Dan

Are you doing R&C at Epcot to try and get Illuminations viewing? I'm just curious, as I'm quite obsessed this trip to try and get a good viewing spot. Our trip last Oct was a failure when it comes to Illuminations viewing...

I really just want to try the place out. I want to experience the atmosphere and all it has to offer. And to be honest, I just want to try every restaurant possible that WDW has to offer!! And it's good to hear about the shakes; DBF will love that part. :)

Is there a some kind of seating package for Illuminations like there is for Fantasmic? When we went in Oct, we were sitting in the worst spot, so I really want to try again. I've heard mixed successes regarding being able to eat/watch from the patio and Rose & Crown. How did you request this?

I am so excited to see everyone so excited. It just mean's we're all THAT much closer to our trips!!! :yay:

Sorry it took me so long to answer- just got home last night from my DS10's hockey tournament.
There isn't a package for Illuminations. I just requested to sit on the patio when we checked in.
I am very EXCITED!! The feeling just never gets old.

When we woke up this morning, we found my cat dead on the couch - we are guessing a heart attack. :sad1: - she has not been sick and she wasn't really that old (8 years)
So it was a hard morning, but then I decided to work on the girls pressed pennies containers - so I printed them and glued them onto the mento's containers.....That gave me a few minutes of happiness. Then the sadness came right back, so I worked on another shirt.....

I guess it's a good thing I have PLENTY of Disney stuff to work on to get me through. I don't know how I would be doing if I didn't have my nephews & Disney to refocus on.

Anyways, we are heading to my brother & SIL's next weekend for a surprise baby shower, I am very excited - these babies have been a long time coming, so we are all so excited.

65 days

So sorry for the loss of your cat :sad1:
We lost our dog a few weeks before our 2007 trip. It was hard but I agree looking forward to the trip helped.

This is making me a little nervous about picking Sci-Fi over 50's Prime Time. I just did cause I liked more choices on the menu at Sci-Fi.

Sci-Fi is one of our favorites. We've eaten there quite a few times. Mostly for the atmosphere but the food has always been good. Take what everyone says with a grain of salt. I think if you want to try something- you will have your own experience. Everytime I go to a Disney restaurant the experience is always different. If I went by what everybody said I probably wouldn't try anything. So just do what you want and don't go by all the reviews unless you don't like what's on the menu.
Have Fun!!!

I'm really excited because people who are arriving 3/24 reported in another thread that they got their Mickey Mail over the weekend, which means ours should come by the end of this week! Yay!

I can't believe how fast time has been going since we got under 50 days!

Time really is flying by!!!
I need to have my boys try on their shorts to see what I need to buy.

It IS coming really fast!!! I'm under 2 months now at 59 days:earseek:
There is so much i need to get such as some summer stuff but it's not out in the stores yet and even so it's SO hard to think of summer clothing when it's snowy here!!!! I will need to get at it though so i'm going to schedule a time on my calendar to go through mine and DD's clothes so we can at least have our list ready for when they get the spring stuff in.

i can't beleive I'm under 2 months now!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought I posted this already but don't see it... :confused3

Just want to update our info on the first page. We are still off-site at Sheraton Vistana Villages from 4/22 - 4/29 but now we are also booked at the Beach Club (club level!!) from 4/19 - 4/22!! Can't wait!!

I can't believe I'm under 50 days!!! Keeping the secret from the girls is soooooo much harder this time...I'm just so excited!! Our trip last year was great, but very last minute (only one ADR, not much to plan), so maybe that is why this trip is making me so excited?! I'm seriously considering making myself a countdown calendar and just keeping it in my closet.

And I bought myself a super cute mickey tee the other day ~ it says "I'm with Goofy" haha, I'm sure DH will love that...

You're right. I think we'll keep any ADR's we have despite any bad reviews on them. Who knows, maybe we will like the food.

I am also at 48 days. I will post if I get mine. Although I am in Canada, so it might take a little longer for mine.

33!

Sorry - just had to rub it in a little! :cool1:

:p Ppppffffffttt! on you!!!
lol j/k;) When you say it that way mine sounds so FAAAARRR away!!! But when I go to my May threads I'm SSSOOO much closer than everyone else. and it feels so much better so ya, ok, I'm going over there now

We have ADRs at Sci-Fi Dine-in as well. It looks like a fun place to eat. I agree that you have to take reviews with a grain of salt. I'm sure there are some ligitimate complaints, but I don't think it would still be open if it were that bad.
