Amanda: Nope, just didn't do it for me. A fast song that she sang too slow and there's no stage presence there. Score: 2

Janay: Actually I thought this was the best performance she's given. Having said that, it was still BAD. She needs to go!! Score: 2

Carrie: Didn't care for her outfit. She needs to be who SHE is. This is two weeks in a row she hasn't done that. Still she has one of the nicest voices. Score: 3.5

Vonzell: Fun performance but not a great voice. Score: 3

Nadia: WOW! Last night she had it all. Score: 5+

Lindsey: She has an OK voice but most of the song was way too low for her abilities. Score: 3

Mikalah: Another one who sang out of her range. She was also out of tune for much of it. Score: 2.5

Jessica: Got the DH vote. I also thought she was quite good but that was because of her singing. Score: 4.5

I think that, unfortunately, a lot of white America sees the dreadlocks and develops a certain dislike for the person, which hinders the ability to judge objectively. IF he had a different hairstyle, he would be much better received by mainstream America. You can disagree all you want, but I see it allllll the time.

Wow What a statement...I am white and absolutely love this guy and love the hair. I think it fits him perfectly. He is adorable and talented and a great role model. I would love to see him win.

Mikalah................a young Barbra Streisand..............NOT!!!!!!!!

.............anyone ever hear Streisand's version of 'You'll Never Know', from when she was 16 years old, made in one of the recording booths they use to have in the 50's. Even then, she had a surreal voice. Mikalah voice sounds as if she where drowning when she sings. Her tone is uneven, she annunciation odd, she swallows all of words---she is just bad.Even the young girl who played 'young Barbra', in her final concert tour had an unbelievable voice (which by the way I was there for Streisand's final concert night at Madison Square Garden).

Anyway, I find listening to Mikalah painful. The botox lips, the chest job, the big hair---just all to much for a 16/17 year old. It's like I am waiting for "Mama Rose" to shout from out back stage---'"sing out Mikalah, sing out". She is everything that is wrong in a youth wanting a career in entertainment.

Is it just me or does anyone else think that Mikalah is just too 'nasally' when she sings. That drives me batty! She sounds like she should be on Coffee Talk on SNL.

I think Mikalah and Janay will be gone for the girls and Constantine and Travis from the guys.

I didn't think anything was hugely shocking last night; people were pretty much good, mediocre, and awful as you'd have expected from the first two weeks.

Good: Nadia, Carrie, and Jessica. Nadia's starting to affect me the way Fantasia did last year; she's eccentric and weird, and I'm not entirely sure what to make of her, but she's always compelling. Carrie has a lovely voice, but I think the judges were correct in telling her she's a little flat. Hopefully she can turn that around because she's really talented. Jessica I would say is good -- but there is something I don't like about her, I can't quite put my finger on it.

Mediocre: Vonzell, Amanda, and Lindsey. Lindsey's probably the best of this group, her voice has the potential to be in the amazing category, but like Carrie, she needs to step it up.

Awful: Mikalah and Janay. Janay's simply too young for this competition; her pitch is terrible and she looks terrified. Mikalah's voice is harsh and nasal, and her low notes were particularly off pitch tonight.

As for the person who said the dreads turns whites off, I'll just say this white girl is pretty turned ON. Anwar is a hottie. Plus he's got amazing talent. He's in my top 3, I teeter back and forth between him and Bo as my favorite.

Well lif Janay doesn't get voted out tonight, I don't think I can stand to watch any more because then it's obviously become a "popularity contest" and not a singing competition.

Would love to see Lindsay also go. Don't know what it is, but I can never understand a word she is singing....it's like she's got a mouth full of marbles.

Unfortunately, I think Mikkalah (sp?) will be going. I think Simon was correct when he told her that her personality was what got her as far as she was and it's just not there any more. My DH says she reminds him of Streisand (and then she goes and sings one of her songs last night...lol).

Tonight will tell all.

I think that men look great in those dreads. I think that Malcolm Jamar Warner is so sexy in that long hair!

The women are so boring compared to the men. Makalah was so bad in that song. She could not pull it off, her range is much too short to sing Barbara. Janay also has to go. I am hoping when it gets down to the men and the women that the girls get picked off one by one. They are going to be so outshined by the boys.

When he was on Andromeda he had dreads - I know they look kinda like braids but (according to him) they were dreads. He used to have a section on his website about caring for dreads, and apparently his photo is in a book about dreads. But when he joined a soap opera, off came the hair to make him more "appealing".

Please let Mikayla go tonight. She sounded like a drag queen last night. That song was way too low for her.

I'm sure that it has to do with the target audience as well. I don't know Andromeda but soaps are generally watched by young to middle-age women. As a woman I cannot say that any man with long hair appeals to me but I've been conservative forever, lol. I want a man that looks like a man, not one prettier than me. Just mho however.

ETA: I think at 40 I'm probably not the target audience of AI. I think it's probably watched more by the younger crowds. Just a guess. I think with a younger audience the appeal of those guys goes up quite a bit.

Nope, this is the first year for that. I think I liked that the final 24 was even with guys & girls...but after that, it should have been an individual competition.

I don't get what everyone likes about Constantine. He creeps me out and I'm not super impressed with his voice. My girls tell me he has druggie eyes...they think he looks high all the time! I think he's trying to look sexy and it's not cutting it with me.

I really like Anwar ( I think he is a hottie) and for some reason I like Mario...not sure why, maybe I'm channeling my kids boyband days! LOL! I also like Scott so I hope he sticks around. I don't have a favorite yet.

Girls are tougher..I liked Carrie, but she has been a little blah lately. Nadia 2 weeks in a row sang songs that had the same words over and over and over, but I like her voice alot...just not her song choices (especially last week)

Janay, please, please, please let her be gone tonight! Between Amanda and Lindsey I'd like to see Amanda stick around, but I think Lindsey will.

Mikayla...don't know, I liked her at first, but her song choice last night left me cold...maybe because I just was listening to Streisand in the car during the day...so I was comparing them.

The judges really aggravated me last night on two accounts:

First, Paula telling Janay that she has a large fan base and it is up to them to vote to keep her in! Basically she was saying you deserve to go home, but if enough people call for you you can squeak by. What the? Aren't they always harping on it being a singing competition and NOT a popularity contest? If Janay stays in tonight and some other poor girl goes in her place, she will have Paula to blame!

Second, I wish they would STOP telling Makalah that she reminds them of a young Barbra Streisand. Yes, the look is similar, yes Barbra has a somewhat nasal quality to her speaking voice BUT it doesn't come out in her singing AND she is a phenomenal talent all around... Mikalah is horrible! She cannot hit those low notes without going flat, and her singing is as nasal as her speaking voice. I keep thinking what an insult to Barbra Steisand, I hope she doesn't watch the show!
