I'm thinking of signing up for the GSC in 2015, but I'm a jogger/walker. I am very short (5') and my walking and jogging stride are so short, that it takes me a LONG to finish a race. Right now, I got 4 minutes and walk 1 minute, 30 seconds. It takes me an average of 45 minutes to finish a 5K. There are a lot of walkers who can walk the entire 5K and finish before me. So, I hope I can keep up a 16 minute pace for the 10K and Half Marathon! Is there a certain point in the half marathon that they won't sweep you off the course? For example, do they sweep people who have slowed down their 16 minute pace at mile 8? Since I am not fast, I wouldn't even be able to stop to use the potty (and I'm old, so that's not an option - LOL). Also, once sign up starts (7/15/14), will there be Disney resorts that offer discounts for the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend? Sorry for the long post! Oh by the way, the only Disney race I've participated in was a 15K back in 2008. I walked the entire thing and was almost swept off the course, but was given a little short-cut instead.
