Tonight’s party is looking wet too so trying to plan. Does Tron go down in lightening like 7DMT and BTMRR?
I don't know about lightning unfortunately. I don't think we had that on Friday, but I could be wrong. Just a lot of rain a couple times throughout the party, but I'm pretty sure it was running the entire time.

I'd plan to go first thing around 6 to get it out of the way if the weather is good. I got through in under 30 minutes for the first ride and I hopped in line around 5:55pm. I rode it twice after in the rain and it was pouring, but don't know if there was lightning. It stopped raining by the time I got off my third ride.

Have a great time tonight!

I’m seeing on Twitter that tickets for tonight are being converted to one day park hopper tickets?

Skies opened up at 7pm and are still going. No first parade, idk on the second but doubt it considering how much water was ponding in MK. Fireworks still ran. I dashed into PP when it started raining, wow did that line move fast. I rode it 3 times in 50 mins trying to dodge the rain lol. Rain persevered so I gave in and ventured out. Did IASW, People Mover and Monsters treat line. Wanted to see the Sanderson show but it was pouring so much I decided to ride Tron instead. Posted wait 40 mins and I was cocky after PP thinking it would def be less but it was pretty close, 35 mins. (I won’t do that one without LL in the future, not an easy line to exit if one needs to exit as I sometimes do.)

Thank you @Lillian Gracey and @kylenne for the Tron rain info. I’d never ridden at night and I Really liked it! Felt cooler than during the day for some reason, a highlight of my evening.

I bailed right before fireworks, caught the beginning from in front of Main St Station as I waited for a MV.

Two surprises:

When I exited the line for Guest Relations outside of the park reached so far back along the path it was beyond Stop 2 of the bus depot length wise (Minnie Van area).

Got the following push notification from MDE at 10:50pm. Will find out tomorrow from GR at a park if there are any other options since as an AP it’s pretty useless to me.

I kinda think they did this conversion because GR could never have dealt with that crowd lining up- and that was before the second parade was (I assume) cancelled. I thought the line was crazy when I saw it snaked multiple times outside the booth- I was in shock when I got to the MV waiting area and the length of the line expanded beyond where I was waiting. Guest Relations is a 20-30 minute visit when you have 2 people in front you for goodness sakes!!

Yeah our son and his friends are there. He's an AP so the guest recovery of a park ticket with park hopper is is worthless to him unless the value of it can be used in the future to renew his AP. The one and only time we received some complementary tickets that was not the case, though. And his friends all have 6 day military tickets that cover the remainder of their trip so I don't know how this helps them.

Was there tonight as well. Totally understand can't control weather and all that. But was very disappointed in the lack of communication from Disney. First parade wasn't announced to be canceled til 5 minutes before. The hocus pocus at 1035 was announced canceled at 1036...and the final parade was announced it will be a small rainy day calvacade instead of boo to you at 1117 (for a 1115 start).

I wish they would have just postponed the second parade for a few minutes. Rain literally stopped at 1100

Our son got in GS line at the end of the night and bailed at 12:30 when the estimated time was an hour and a half. He's going to try and see if GS will help him on another MK day.

I was there tonight as well. With all the rain downpouring I wasn't about to let family members to get sick. We ended up leaving before 8p. It was still raining, I figured there would be fireworks but I wasn't about to stand in the rain and get sick. And honestly, they should give a waiver since we weren't able to go to all the treat zones since we couldn't even find the locations with all the puddles and downpouring. I didn't see anything on my MDE. I wouldn't mind them giving us something for the troubles. Since you guys told me there was not parade at 815p or at 1115p. And a cavalcade isn't the same as Boo to you.

Weapon props "that could be mistaken for an actual weapon" aren't allowed. The interpretation of that can be shaky. Here's a 2008 post about it. I had a foam ax (part of a Haunted Mansion attic bride costume) denied in DL. My choices were to throw it away or go back to the hotel. It was a toy, and part of a bouquet of roses. I was allowed to bring the roses in. I got the idea from seeing a kid (between 9 and 12) with an ax in her bouquet at WDW the year before, so maybe DL is extra strict? In any case, I wouldn't invest too much in weapon props.
Just buy swords from the Pirates of the Caribbean gift shop.

Wasn’t the ground still wet after the rain stopped? Too wet can be dangerous for the performers- but it that case Disney would have known they were cancelling it and should have announced as soon as that became obvious…

I wondered about the communication! I kept thinking I must not be in the right places to hear anything.

Oh ya, ground was def wet. I'm not going to argue hard if they should have it or not. I totally get safety etc. But don't be telling people the parade is going to happen when you know it not (tons of people were asking the cms who were crowd controlling the parade route asked and they all said yes)

Once they announced it was just a calvacade saw many leave and very mad. Including us. We wouldn't have stuck around the extra 30 minutes that we did

I think a lot of my frustration too is, in the past, when situations like this happened, you could tell Disney and the cms tried to make the best of it. This didn't feel like the case last night. Cms didn't want to be there, they were some of the most emotionaless people I've seen at Disney.

I think it's just another example how much the guest experience has gone down since covid

lol even the actual weather people get it wrong most of the time

If you or anyone finds out if the ticket can be transferred to someone else or used for another party (another MNSSHP or one of the Christmas parties) - I'd be curious to know.

No excuse for that across the board. I think the unexpected Aspire announcement has hit many CMs hard (especially the younger ones) and they are fairly roiled about it - Disney announced a big cutback of college benefits for employees without much notice to those getting degrees. That rain was extra nasty last night too from the look of it on one of the livestreams I watched.

This has me really concerned for the 22nd. A 1 day ticket is worthless to us as APs. Just praying the weather cooperates.

I find it a bit odd that you got a notification at 10:50 but other people were still waiting in line for hours at guest services? Did everyone not get the notice? Was it random? (Rhetorical questions but would be good to know for my upcoming party)

I would honestly chalk this up to Disney IT being Disney IT. Push notifications can sometimes be a mixed bag in the app, I’ve found. There’s been times I’ve gotten them but my partner standing next to me hasn’t.

I’ll be there next Sunday and have the same concern that you do. AP holders don’t need a 1 day hopper… maybe convert to MVMCP would work or some kind of credit?

Fingers crossed for us both that the skies clear on our party days!

I actually wouldn't mind that, even if I don't like the Xmas party as much as the Halloween one. That's an equivalent exchange imo.

I really hope compensation isn't necessary for either of us though!
