"Official" 2024 Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

I was at the party on the 8th that was rained out. I just called and asked if they could change the useless freebie tickets they gave us (we have APs) into MVMCP tickets and they said no. That the one day hoppers have no value and they can't/won't let me just pay the difference for Christmas party tickets. He said I may have a different experience going to guest services in person but not to count on it. So basically I wasted $230 (1 adult, 1 kid) and Disney doesn't give a crap and won't do anything to make it right.

Okay, let’s boo this! You can’t tell but this is my epic Jekyll & Hyde costume. Catch me before the rain and I’ll look like this, catch me after the rain and I’ll look like a poodle in a WDW rain jacket with mascara all over my cheeks. A little rain never hurt anybody!!!

Did you call the number on the paper on the previous page? It said you can change for other event tickets. I would try again, some people got refunds

I did, and I read him what the paper said. He didn't care. I am local so I will probably just go to MK guest services in the next couple of days but that is a major pain. I told him that I saw online/on social media that others were receiving refunds or other party tickets and he was basically said too bad, not everyone gets the same thing/people have different circumstances, the answer is still no.

Edited to add: I'm not giving up, I am going to keep trying, I just don't have the energy to deal with it again today.

I just want to thank whoever put the tip many many pages back to try to get a parade spot down on Main Street around the hub circled way down in the beginning near the train station. Everything else was completely full and we walked down there and were able to get a spot easily and this was about 45 minutes early.

I suspect park GS has a lot more options than the phone ticket CMs…Good Luck

I’d call the number on that piece of paper posted earlier as they handed that out at the party. They should let you apply the value to another party ticket, so maybe this is simply a hang up, call again situation?

ETA- saw you can go in person, hopefully that comes out better!

yea I would def try to call again and get a different person. The lady we got gave us a full refund

Fun times were had at MNSSHP last night!

Got in line for the Minnie Sipper at 5:30, they were warning me she might run out by the time I got up there, but I made the cutoff and had my Minnie by 7:10. Yes, I know I’m crazy for waiting for this cup. Had a friend in the park who was able to secure the nightmare teddy popcorn buckets for us in the meantime. Sat at a table eating a turkey leg (and the sally cake pop, which was pretty tasty) while staring at my bucket and sipper and thinking about my life choices.

Did a little bit of trick or treating, got some photos taken on main street, did Space (no wait) and Tron (waited 20 minutes), then met Ariel & Eric, who were very cute. Had the pumpkin cold brew which was absolutely the worst thing I’ve ever tried in the parks, the pumpkin foam was “clumpy.” Not curdled, not sour, just had clumps of foam. I don’t know how it worked.

~around 10 PM I tapped out, was super tired (was at the park that day and spent longer than I planned). Stopped at the Emporium for party jersey, sanderson sisters sweater/jersey hybrid thing, and party ornament.

Pretty good night! Looking forward to Friday, it’s going to be a relaxing morning for me so will have more energy for party fun.

Got it sorted out! Apparently the man I spoke with on the phone was sick of talking to people about it/had no patience left and took it out on me (I call Disney often and he had the worst customer service skills of anyone I have ever spoken to and that includes the new DAS approval cast members  ). I called back this morning and spoke with someone else. She was calm and kind and when I explained that I was at the rained out party on the 8th and asked if I could please have a refund or christmas party tickets instead of the one day hoppers because we are pass holders she immediately said absolutely and we got the ball rolling on the change to christmas party tickets (because that's what I would have done with the refund money anyway). It took less than 5 minutes and she told me that because I have never received recovery tickets before she waived the $120-ish difference in ticket prices for us (that I was 100% ready to pay card in hand when she told me).

So, yea. Call back or go in person if possible if the first person shuts you down. I said exactly the same thing in the same way to both CMs, obviously the first one that I spoke to wasn't inclined to follow procedure/was not truthful with me because it was so easy for the second one to get it done. I didn't speak to a manager either time, just the front line CM that answered the phone.

Over the years we've learned the same thing, often you just need to get to a CM that is more empathetic to your needs. Glad this worked out well for you.

What time do the rides with special themed overlays switch over? 7?

typically just as I step in line at 6:45/6:50. :o At least that's how it worked out for Space Justin last year - got in line and was told it was running smoothly, made it to the loading area and had to wait for a 20 minute switch over.

After attending many of the parties at WDW (both halloween and xmas), I think we might be done. I'm struggling to find the value. The parade is awesome and we really enjoy it but the other parts of the event have become sort of ridiculous. The party exclusive merchandise is lackluster in my opinion. The stage show has always been take it or leave it for us because its honestly hard to see much unless you camp right next to the stage. Fireworks are fireworks, I don't need the party for those.

I think the last straw was wanting to get one of the party food items at Sleepy Hollow and showing up to the sight of a 2+hr line because of the stupid sipper. The popcorn carts all had hour long lines because of the buckets. I don't care if people want to spend half their party in line for a sipper or bucket but they really should be separate lines that don't block everyone's access to other less in demand things like a funnel cake.

Anyone who got that 1 day comp ticket from Sun and are still visiting parks- check you still have the comp ticket. Reports on X of the system using people’s 1 day ticket instead of the multi day tickets they were using despite it supposedly needing a park reservation.

Disney IT never ceases to amaze me.
Great advice!

This happened to my son. He has an AP and for some reason when he scanned into Epcot the next morning the system used his complementary ticket instead of his AP. They were back at MK yesterday and he went to GS and they were able to give him another one which of course he doesn't need being an AP holder. They offered to let him transfer it to his girlfriend. She's not on this trip but will be on our December trip and hasn't bought her tickets yet. She can't upgrade it to the 6 day ticket she needs, but she can now buy a 5 day ticket instead of a 6. It's not a huge savings (about $48) but it's something. He was satisfied with that as he and his friends stayed the entire time at the party and actually had a good time doing what they could. He tried to convince his friends they were super lucky to see the oh so rare rainy day Halloween parade :rotfl2: . Making lemonade out of lemons!

We were at the party on the 8th and got the one day passes. Unbeknownst to us, those one day tickets got used the next day when we went to HS even though we have an AP and had a park reservation for that day at HS that I had booked months before. I called Disney and after a couple of CMs passing me up the chain, they refunded the cost of the party ticket to my original form of payment. They never gave me any grief they just had to escalate to fix the issue with the one day ticket being used when it shouldn't have been.
