I find it a bit odd that you got a notification at 10:50 but other people were still waiting in line for hours at guest services? Did everyone not get the notice? Was it random? (Rhetorical questions but would be good to know for my upcoming party)
I did not get the notice. Only reason i found out about it was standing in line for Tron everyone started reading it on their phones. I managed to get over to City Hall right at the end of the calvacade. They only had 2 cast members out talking to a mass of people. I said I didn't get anything on my phone and he handed me this paper.

Who knows? I was at my hotel by then. I did talk to a couple at the bar, one dismissed their Disney notice by accident so didn’t read it & the other didn’t get it.

Guest relations offering AP holders switch for another MNSSHP, MVMCP or Jollywood Nights this morning.
Huh. I wasn’t but I didn’t directly ask.

I went to GR at AK on my way out for lunch. Took 50 mins, about 6 parties in front of me. They said they could help but had to contact MK GR so it would take a few mins. She came back and offered me another MNSSHP, said they had a few dates still left. I said that won’t work & could we do a refund, except I bought 3rd party so I informed her and said a gc would be fine, or maybe credit toward the Xmas party or something? She had to check again and came back and said they could refund to a DGC. I took it- and am already spending it lol. The Mouse will have his dough back within 48 hours I think.

MVMCP or Jollywood would have been a better deal fiscally but they weren’t proactively offered and personally I’m happier with a DGC as a Xmas party would be awkward for my schedule this year. I’m content, feel they more than made me whole.

Things I did right last night- not waiting for the parade when it was pouring, leaving when fireworks started to beat the rush to MVs, not waiting to talk to GR in person.

Thing I did wrong- bought my ticket 3rd party. I’ll always buy party tickets direct from Disney from now on to make compensation easier in case of mishaps.

Sounds like a serious lack of communication on Disney's part (nothing new there). Personally I would be happy with a 1 day hopper if my party on Sept 26th is affected, but that still needs to be communicated to guests if it happens. To tell people to wait in line, then tell them to call tomorrow, pretty sad.

I'm an ap too so I'm in same boat as others that one day hopper is pretty useless for me.

Still pretty bummed abiut it all... I was so excited to see the hitchhiking ghosts 😭

Trying not to think about what I missed. Such is the nature of summer in FL.

Have you talked to Disney about other options?

Looking at pics of that paper last night it says you have to pay the difference if the new event costs more. Anyone confirm that they were asked to pay the difference in price?

We haven't yet. But will here soon.

You'd think being a Florida native for 30 years and 6 of them being Orlando I'd know better than to do an event in Sept. Happens to me all the time when I've set up a weekend for Halloween horror nights at universal in early Sept.

That's interesting but doesn't seem fair for party tickets. I just looked, a 1 day hopper in March is over $260! I would make money ($100) if my party is rained out, since I would use the hopper in March.

Have we established that there are usual times for the hitchhiking ghosts to "appear"? or has it been very random? Thank you.

I would also love more data on this!

I've seen them come out in multiple livestreams from different nights around 7:20, and I think they're out for about 20 minutes until the Dans replace the around 7:45.

I would guess that they are out in-between the Cadaver Dans (minus parade times and maybe fireworks) but would love IRL observations people might have!

They gave us a refund. They only offered very merry tickets, but we would have had to pay the difference
Glad you got a refund!

This tracks with the paper some were given as far as paying the difference, so maybe they do have a set policy with regards to this- or at least with regards to our party.

I unfortunately can't confirm this, but I did watch the Cadaver Dans just before 8 (according to the timestamp on my pics) and during their last song, Grim Grinning Ghosts, the hitchhiking ghosts appeared and walked from around the mercantile and went past CBJ. Sorry for the bad pic. I wouldn't be surprised if they were where the Cadaver Dans are before their performance. Sorry I can't be of much help.

For those who have gone in before 4pm. (yes meaning you had a park ticket) how did you find the lines? I am debating on getting LL before the party as I know once the party starts there is no LL.

Anyone who got that 1 day comp ticket from Sun and are still visiting parks- check you still have the comp ticket. Reports on X of the system using people’s 1 day ticket instead of the multi day tickets they were using despite it supposedly needing a park reservation.

Disney IT never ceases to amaze me.
