Ride waits were short which were great. Space mountain in pitch blackness is intense. The exclusive food was good also but the beignets were terrible, no where near as good as they are at port Orleans.

Saw the new country bears show ( terrible ), rode Tianas for the first time ( utter disappointment )

The very merry parade is a better show then the halloween one IMO. It was also a lot more crowded during the parade but we found no issue getting a spot about 20 mins before it started, And honestly, acting like it was halloween in 95 degree weather just wasn't a thing for me lol. The Sanderson sisters show was really good though.

Fireworks show was really really well done. Really enjoyed that. Lined up 10 mins before it started and had no issue finding a spot

Maybe if I didn't compare it to very merry and if it wasn't a hot summer day I would have liked it more. Just didn't feel the season

I had a good time but a one and done for me, which isn't saying its bad. It was very good

The general rule of thumb is that MK is usually less crowded during the day on a party night. We are planning a fall break trip and there is a party on Monday 10/14 (Columbus Day). Is there reason to believe that this same rule will apply even though it's a holiday or should I expect MK to be slammed? We are planning to attend MK during the day and hop to another park when the party started, but I'm wondering if I should avoid that park altogether on that day. Thoughts?

I would anticipate MK to be lighter than the other parks that day but, all parks will be heavier that week due to it being a week that includes a holiday. All parks will likely have higher attendance the entire week due to school fall breaks but on the party days, MK will likely still be lighter than the other parks.

For those who don't want to see the parade, avoid the bridge walkway along the route in Frontierland when it's going on. DH and I got off BTMRR tonight and walked towards Liberty Square to go to the Haunted Mansion shortly after the parade started, but got stuck until it was over because people refused to move and people parked their double wide strollers there causing even more blockage. CMs weren't helpful and laughed it off when someone finally was able to push through and find them. They were saying there's nothing they can do. It was a safety hazard. This left a horrible taste in our mouths.
Do you mean the windy pathway along the river? I am inclined to skip the first parade to do rides but it sounds like I should stay out of Frontierland and maybe head to Tomorrowland then if I don’t want to be stuck?

Yeah. That one. I would definitely stay away. If we didn't get stuck there we would've turned around and gone back towards BTMRR and gone on again or something until the parade was over.

For those who have gone, are you guys seeing the merch sell out super quickly? The only thing I'm looking to buy is the spirit jersey but I'm going October 27th. I went to one of the last Christmas parties last year and almost all of the exclusive merch was sold out so I was wondering if I should set expectations accordingly (i.e. just grab it off eBay).

Going to this for first time Oct 18th. What is MCO doing currently for checks of candy or treats at the airport.

Interesting. Our experience has been the complete opposite. I find acting like it's Christmas in 80 degree weather with free hot chocolate more irritating than acting like it's Halloween in 85 degree weather when we go in October.

I also find the Halloween parade MUCH more enjoyable than the Christmas parade. Maybe because we REALLY like villians! LOL!!!

We've been to 2 Christmas parties, and this October will be our 10th MNSSHP. :)

I was just thinking, they have Jollywood Nights for Christmas, wouldn't it be cool if they added a Halloween party at DHS, one that is truly scary? It would tie in well with the Hollywood Hotel.

I just went to the party on August 27th and flew home the next day. Had 2 bags worth of candy in my carry on and no one at security blinked an eye. My bag went through the scanner with no issues.
I do think that maybe there are random extra checks of food items though. I had Gideon's cookies in my carry on last year and my bag was pulled aside for an extra check. I had taken the wrapped cookies out of the box and put them in a gallon size zip lock bag. The TSA agent pulled that bag out and was going to take the cookies out of the bag. I had to ask her (nicely of course) to please change her gloves before she touched my food. She changed her gloves, took one cookie out of the bag, then just put it back in and handed the whole thing back to me.
I have flown several times since then with cookies in my carry on (dreading the extra check each time), but my bag has gone through with no extra scrutiny.

I got stuck on that path closer to HM one MVMCP and it’s the only time I thought I might get trampled in MK. People pushing in from both sides of the path because the parade was going even though no one could move. I will never, ever be caught on that walking path along the river during a party parade again!

I'm at Star Traders right now and they have a ton of them.

Thank you for checking! Are they a wide variety of sizes or only a select few? I know for certain popular items, the only sizes left are XS or XXL.

Ignore that question. I can't read apparently despite the sizes being on the hangers LOL

Have fun at the party tonight!

You're very welcome! I needed to get out of the rain so this gave me an excuse. Lol Hopefully there'll still be plenty when you go! I didn't have issues getting the couple of things I wanted. I actually forgot about the mystery pins until I saw them at the store in Frontierland today. I didn't see those at the emporium or star traders on Monday. They did have a 1 per person limit. Luckily I got the two pins I wanted. I feel like people are much more focused on the popcorn buckets.

Tonight's party has been great even with the rain. I rode Tron 3 times in the first hour and twenty minutes of it going standby and I've enjoyed just chilling and going with the flow. Second parade is canceled so we get to see the cavalcade.

My DD is so bummed that the Stitch vampire popcorn bucket won't be at DW too. Come on Disney, bring it to DW, will be there the week of the 15th and that would be the best birthday surprise for her!!!

Tonight’s party is looking wet too so trying to plan. Does Tron go down in lightening like 7DMT and BTMRR?
