Official 2017 Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend!

@roxymama has been kind enough to start a countdown on some training journal threads, but I think we need that here too right?

One week we're in DL.

Anyone once else must have a clean house before you leave for a trip??

OMG ME!!!!!!!!!! Nicest thing to come home from a trip to a clean house.
However kiddo and husband will be home so I will be totally fine with all toytastrophes that may occur while I'm gone.

LOL. It funny when you get home....the house just gets dirty with all the stuff/luggage etc from the trip. But at least for a moment I can walk in and have a spotless house.

I've been working on packing. I think I have managed to pack everything I need for 5 days plus 2 races in one carry on. I have really mastered the race weekend. Lol!

I'm just waiting on a Harvey's bag that I ordered to decide what I am bringing for a purse. Then we have to figure out if we can pack my DH's stuff in a carry on too.

Yes! This time we are leaving our girls with my in-laws, so I need to clean, prep for guests, and make sure the fridge is fully stocked - and will come home to a messy house! Oh well - a few kid free days are worth it ;)

I just read a posting on facebook from someone that had contacted the Red Hat Society to see if they'd be cheering this year and the response was that they were not going to be there. The reason given was that the "runDisney group opportunity for the RHS has changed." This is such a bummer as it was always amazing running past all those ladies out there cheering. I'm really hoping these changes aren't trickling down to the marching bands and cheerleaders along the course as that would mean a huge lack of entertainment outside of the parks.

Noooooo ! You've got to be kidding. That is so sad to hear.

I read on another site that rD was having trouble getting enough paid workers for the races. I'm worried about the race support, like at the water stations etc.

@courtneybeth Were you hoping to go with the 2:45 pacer for run/walk? She posted on a closed facebook group that I am a part of (I can PM you the name if its not allowed to be posted here.) And she's answering questions :)
(Unless you are already a part of that group and already know)

Please PM me anything you have. I would love this information! Thank you <3

Nooooooooooo.....I've been imagining them in my mind at mile 8 during my long runs. I didn't want to have to imagine them at the actual race.

Bummer. :( I was so looking forward to running past them as well.

With just a little over a week to go until our races being (!!!) I wanted to post a little reminder...

Be careful when posting pictures of your bib to social media. There are shady characters out there who will bandit these races by printing out copies of bibs and using those to gain entry into corrals...i.e. run the race/use on-course facilities/collect the medal without paying the race entry fee(s). Not cool!

If I post my bibs to social media, I cover the number...probably still not a perfect system, but it's something!

(Also...May the 4th be with you! :darth:)

Maybe some of them will still show up on their own even though they're no longer getting tickets to the park. I can't imagine that every single one of them just went out there because of the free tickets. It always looked like they were having a great time there.

Now that's impressive! I barely managed to get into a carryon for my two nights at Dark Side, lol. And even then, I ended up checking my wheelie bag on the way back because I had a huge bag full of all of my purchases. By the way, I'm carrying my Darth Vader Dooney tote for May the 4th today, and I just love that bag. So glad I decided to keep it. Seeing you carrying yours really sealed the deal. I'm heading to Southern California Tuesday afternoon for business meetings Tuesday and Wednesday, and, happily, we are taking the company plane down, so I don't have to worry about carrying all of my race stuff in a carryon. No way I could pack for two days of business meetings, park days and my race stuff in a carryon.

I wanted to just bring a carry on....but my tink wings don't fit... dunno how to bring them without checking a bag and having a ton of space in that suitcase. Any ideas?

If you're anything like me that extra space can just be filled with stuff you buy at the expo/parks. I usually end up having 2 suitcases "just in case" I go crazy. :rotfl2:
