Official 2017 Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend!

:tinker: It's the final Fairy Friday! And Revenge of the Fifth AND Cinco de Mayo! :tinker:

In which I blatantly steal the "Sundays Are For Disney"/"QOTD" ideas from other threads here in the runDisney section! :teeth:

We are just 1 Friday away from Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend, so to keep us chatting/sharing ideas, I thought I'd post a question each Friday that we can discuss! Questions are about Disneyland Resort and/or the Tinker Bell Races!

1 week to go, Pixies...Happy Fairy Friday! :tinker:

Question of the Week: Wahhhh, the Final Fairy Friday!

What are your goals for Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend - race-wise or otherwise?

----------------------------------------------------

My answer:

Race-wise: To have fun, take lots of pictures, finish feeling healthy and strong, and get that bling! The whole reason I am participating in these races is to get the pink C2C, and I MUST HAVE IT (along with the 10th anniversary blue C2C)!

Otherwise: To have fun, take lots of pictures and experience attractions I haven't gotten to yet at Disneyland!

See you all next week, Pixies (don't forget, Trader Sams on Saturday at 2PM! BE THERE OR BE SQUARE!) - if I don't see you at the meet-up, have a happy, safe and FUN weekend at the Happiest Place on Earth! :yay:

Safe travels to all and have a magical week! :tinker:

:tinker:FINAL FAIRY FRIDAY! :tinker:

I'll miss Fairy Friday. :sad1:

Race goals - Have a fun time. Pace and distance don't matter to me in a Disney race, so I'm all about the experience, the pictures and the fun. Like @Ariel484 I cannot wait to get my hands on all that bling, especially the anniversary Coast to Coast medal.

Otherwise - Exploring and learning more about the DLR experience. I'm also planning though to just relax and take it all in. I love rides, but I also just want to take the time to explore the whole resort area.

I can't wait to head that way!!! Packing this weekend will make it all the more real. Woohoo!!!

I wanted to just bring a carry on....but my tink wings don't fit... dunno how to bring them without checking a bag and having a ton of space in that suitcase. Any ideas?

Wear them on the plane! :teeth: But really though, could they fit in a bag for your "personal item" to put under the seat?

:tinker:Fairy Friday!

Race goals: Literally to just survive and have fun! This weekend will be the end of my race season where I've done a half marathon every month since Jan, along with all the races at Princess and a handful of other shorter races. So my legs are already pretty much done, and I'm doing all 3 Tink races. So just having fun, and TAKE ALL THE PICS!

Otherwise: DH and I have never been to DL, or Cali for that matter, so hoping to get in all the rides/food we want in our one day at the parks. And then getting to visit all of the breweries on our list.

What are your goals for Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend - race-wise or otherwise?
#1 -- Have Fun! :rainbow:

It will be the first time I have done all 3 races (never done the 5K before) and it will also be the first time DS (7) does the 5K so I am really looking forward to the character stops during the 5K so we can get some family race photos!
I don't have any time goals for Tink, i feel why bother -- personally I want to enjoy the experience! My tink 10K has gotten worse and worse b/c I want to stop for the photos and every year I stop for more and more.....lol!

i won't be at any of the Saturday meetups -- we are going to head over to Knott's for the day since our APs are blocked!
:tinker:Hope everyone has a fab race weekend! :tinker:

Fairy Friday! Next week this time I'll be on a plane!

Main goals: first time HM finisher!!! Wear that bling and earn it!!
Enjoy it! Less stressing/more having fun!
Have a strong showing but allow myself to do the pics and fun stuff too.
Non run goals: smile a lot and eat all the things and be a big kid.

I will also be on a plane at this time next week! Woo Hoo!

My goals are just to have fun and get over the finish line and get all those medals! This is my first DL race experience so I just want to soak it all in.

I'm bringing my GSC medals with me, so I can get a picture will all the medals in front of the castle.

It's my first DL race and Tink is my favorite, so I'm planning to just have fun! I'm doing the 10K and Half, but did all three races at Princess and am looking forward to it being easier (later wakeup calls and better weather). When the 10K opened up, my aunt decided to sign up and come out, so we'll be doing it together and I'll go at her pace, which is slower than mine. For the Half, just hoping to get through it with a smile.

I cannot believe how quickly time has gone by. I love the Fairy Friday posts.

My goal as a non-runner is cheer as loudly as I can for all of you amazing and inspirational people. As personal cheer squad to my dd my goal is to ensure she gets enough proper rest and nutrition prior to the race and to beam with pride when she finishes.

My DDs (16) goals are to complete both the 10k and 1/2 marathon and get her pink coast to coast since she ran the Princess 1/2. This is her first challenge so she's a little nervous. She's very competitive with herself and always wants to PR but I think her goal this time is relax a little and have some fun while on the course - maybe even stop for a picture.

Our general goals for the weekend are to enjoy some quality mom/daughter time.

My main goal is to finish happy and feel good during the race. I'd also love to beat my PHM time, and I think I have a good chance, but we'll see!

Overall, I am so looking forward to a fun weekend with DH without the kids! Good food, drinks, and getting to see DL for the first time.

:tinker:Final Fairy Friday:tinker:

I'm sad that this is our last one.

Goals....Making sure our mouseketeer has fun and finishes the 5K. I'm always nervous until we actually cross the finish line. The mouseketeer goals are taking back stage pics and is hoping to run by the train round house and where the monorail sleeps. DH's goals: we start and finish strong having fun along the way.
After all these years I still get nervous for my races. Even though I've trained and can do it, I'm always a little nervous since you never know if something could happen before that finish line. My goal for the 1/2 is to finish strong.

I am really looking forward to being back in my "Happy Place". Spending time with family and friends. After the race I'm looking forward to celebrating Mother's Day at the Blue Bayou and then watching the Electrical Parade. Monday morning medal picture with Tink.

I'm going to miss Fairy Friday.:wave2:

Fairy Friday!

Right now my race goal is to actually finish. I was feeling confident, but a few days ago I came down with a cold and started to get a cough. Hopefully I can pull it together by next week. Otherwise I just want to have a good time and get lots of pictures.

Oh no!! Hope you can get some rest over the next couple of days of days. Hope you feel better soon!

I can't believe it's the final fairy Friday!

Race goals: Stop for lots of pictures, and keep a steady pace once we leave the parks.
Other goals: Don't gain any weight from all the food I'll be eating. :rotfl2:

Can't believe the weekend is almost here!

Race Goal: Since I'm working on getting faster for the Disneyland 10K...keep up the pace!

Other Goal: Stay upright, my long weekend was ruined by having to go in to work Saturday...three early mornings in a row, yuck! I may need a cookie to make it through.
