Official 2017 Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend!

Now if people ask where the pull points are we can say with certainty we know the locations. Balloon ladies who? :rolleyes1

We also usually wear the participant shirts, but this year, I'm thinking to wear a collared shirt. The ribbon on the medal really bugs my neck a lot of the time and I end up not wanting to wear the medal for long.
The ribbons bug me too...just the velcro part. I have to slide the ribbon around so that the velcro doesn't irritate my neck.

Makes me wonder how people walk around wearing multiple medals - the ribbons and the weight would drive me nuts! And the clanging.

seem like the 10K is going in the opposite direction in DCA than last year
and we don't finish thru DTD which I wasn't a fan of last year during the 10K

I'm curious where the spectator VIPs will get to watch us inside the park. And which park? Guess we have to be patient to find out. Anyone have any ideas just based off the map? It's nice how close EPSN zone is to the 13 mile marker for my sis.

Seems like runners heading from mile 11 to 12 may get a bunch of early park-goers cheering them on when they are walking from Harbor to the esplanade, right? Depending on what time of day you end up being on the 12th mile. Maybe I'll let my mama know about that since our hotel is so close.

I think the new security stations are making it difficult to run through there and manage the crowds of people trying to head towards the park. I like the changes they've made recently to have us run back through California Adventure and by Paradise Pier. The DTD portions were very cramped and sometimes you were pushed into the planters... so more space is welcomed!

I do the same with the ribbon. At Princess, I wore my challenge medal and carried the others in my bag. I just took them out for photos.

All good points. It was sort of cool to run through DTD - very different from WDW courses - but we didn't have much room to spread out for sure.

I did the same thing and plan on doing that again at Tink. If they give us a cinch bag at the finish line of the half like they did at Princess, that's what the bag will be used for! :teeth:

I love it that we have an "official" map....you guys are great !!!!!
Only complaint is I think we still have to go through that "underground tunnel" from the CM entrance on Harbor in DL and we end up in DCA. I think it's the dotted lines on the map. That tunnel was back up last year and gridlocked each time I went through it. I personally hate that tunnel...it's slippery to me, hate the strobe lighting, and it's hot. OK rant over.:sad2:

You guys all rock!! Thanks for helping this first timer!! Last weekend while running (and no other person around!) I pretended certain trees were the photographers. Gotta practice those poses! Just had to laugh at myself!

I'm glad I wasn't the only one last night with double screens open, zoomed in super close, comparing the posted map with the park maps. Back and forth, back and forth trying to see which rides and parts we run by. LOVE IT!!!!

Love it!!! Now try on your costume and practice with the trees. You're going to have some great pics!!

Did anyone watch Dancing with the Stars last night??? It was Disney night.
I thought it was great. It was a little Disney magic on a Monday night.::MickeyMo

I have 2 screens at work, and I had 2016's map and this map open trying to compare them. :upsidedow

YES!! That show is so cheesy, I just love it - loved that they just shoved Disney down our throats for 1 night. :lovestruc LOVED the opening and loved the Mulan number (Normani/Val) especially - but totally hoping Simone and Sasha will win!. It will never not be funny to me that Donny Osmond is the singing voice of Shang!

I'm a die-hard Cleveland Indians fan, though...so I need them to stop talking about the World Series every week. :( I get it, the Cubs won - let's move on!!

Me! Me! Me! I love that show and Disney night is always my favorite! I thought Nancy Kerrigan and the Enchanted number was really sweet too.

I've got it on the DVR but haven't watched yet. (The new Better Call Saul was priority last night after getting home from a business dinner.)

I started running the 10k races on Avengers weekend last year and have pretty much started signing up for all of the California ones now (I live only a few miles from DL so it's great motivation for fairly little investment), and the thing I have been noticing is how awful my "resting run face" is during the pictures.... I've started doing the same thing, randomly picking trees that I'm approaching to smile and pose at as I go by. I want to be able to share some good race photos, not photos of me looking vaguely distracted and bedraggled (or staring at my feet crossing the finish line). I still don't have something I feel completely confident doing, but I hope I'll get there. Even "bad cheesy" photos would be an improvement.....
