Official 2017 Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend!

What are you all wearing for shoes on your non-running parts of your vacation? I have a shoe conundrum.
I have two active pairs of running shoes. One that's about to die and likely will get put out to pasture post-Tink training and the other I am wearing for the half marathon (my only race.) My half shoes are my comfiest...my other shoes I just use for short runs now and I dunno about them for whole park days.
And I've realized I don't have a current super comfy park pair of shoes!!

Any suggestions? If I get new shoes I'll get them super soon to be able to break them in but I'm such a worry wart about blisters right now so close to the race.

Wondering if I should just get a second pair of my current half shoes (I've found them on sale on amazon and zappos) and just start working them in now.

The other layer of the conundrum is I'm buying Haunted Mansion New balance shoes at the expo for everyday shoes but won't wear them during that weekend (blister fears again.) Blarg. Conundrum.

Thoughts on what you all wear?

FWIW, I bought the HM New Balance at Princess Expo and wore them to the park the next day and for the rest of the trip (3-4 days with lots of park walking) and they were fine. No issues or blisters. Just be sure you get the proper size! I'll bring those, plus a pair of NB Tink shoes from last year, and I have a super comfy pair of sandals from The Walking Company that I can wear if it's warm enough. Hmmm, between all these and my race shoes, sounds like I'm going to need a whole suitcase just for shoes!

I have a day off work coming up so I may just have to find my way to the local NB store to try on the same model so I can know my size going into it.
I'm attempting to only bring a carry-on suitcase and a big purse bag. "attempting" being the key word.

If the balloon ladies were actually cats I would get swept at every race...because I would just want to stop and play with/pet/snuggle them.

Idea to improve disney races...All corrals have kittens! Then if you are in a back corral = more time with kittens! And if you get swept, the busses are full of kittens. And when you cross the finish you get a box with chips, cheese and a kitten! And for $199 you can purchase a pass to the VIP kitten tent.
(I will need to pre-order a bubble suit though since I'm allergic, but it'd be worth it)

Is it Friday yet? I think my brain is toast today.

Almost!...:tinker:

So, I think we'll be a pretty sure bet for B if they follow the same guidelines, so that's awesome. I'm loving this smaller race thing!!

And, kittens in corrals since like an awesome idea to me. Can we add in some puppies too?

Although it could end up being the more leaf/light green of the half medal's ribbon???
Im hoping for just anything but black/gray/white (gimme springy or bright color!). I'd love if this was just the shirt

Ooh love that green! And the periwinkle! The teal is nice too, but I already have a bunch of shirts in that color.

I usually wear saucony jazz or vintage NB sneakers in the parks. So sneakers, but not running sneakers - and I find them to be pretty comfy!

Any DL veterans done a rental car from LAX before?

We are going to do a little self driving tour on Monday on our way back to the airport - so debating a rental car for the entire weekend vs airport shuttle to our hotel/rental car for one day and return to LAx.

Price differences are actually not that different ($20 more to rent the car the whole weekend.)

Our hotel (Residence Inn) has onsite parking, so that seems easy. Not sure I'm missing anything though?

Does your hotel charge for parking? Only thing I can think of.

Kittens, puppies and shoes.....you guys have been busy!!!
I always pack my OOFOS. They are not just for run recovery but I live in mine. Depending on the weather those will be my favorite to wear.

Is there somewhere in the thread from last year maybe that posted the chorals for the 10k? I registered with a 10-11min./mile. I was curious where that was last year. First race and nervous! I did pretty decent last weekend on 5mi but I also want to have some fun during the race too.

They don't release the 10K Corrals ahead of time. You can take a guess based on your bib number but won't know for sure until you pick up your bib at the expo. :)

We put in a 13-14 minute 10K time and were in D last year. Granted that could completely change... my guess is that you're more toward the front than the back with a 10 min mile. You'll probably be B/C.

Ok, you guys totally rock with your wisdom!! :worship: I know it is a guess, but all that I'm concerned with at this point is that it's at least middle ground and that I have time to take pics and have fun!! You have put my mind at ease. Thanks!!!! The closer it gets the more excited I get and the more (irrational) panic is setting in.

I put in a 13-14 min. mile for last year's Tink 10K and I was put in E. I put in 11-12 min. mile for this year's Star Wars 10K and I was put in G! It's been really random for me!

Does anyone know if you only have an official 10K time to submit for the half, do they adjust it since you'll be running a longer distance? I just went by the chart they had on the site.
