Official 2017 Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend!

Looking for SMALL wings to run in. Anybody had any luck finding some that don't stick out too far? I'm also 5'1" and petite, so I've been looking at kid sizes and styles.

BFF cancelled today, its the same weekend her son's graduation :( I'm trying to find a 5k or 10k bib for my DD and not having any luck with rD ro TAs. Anyone know of any?

Anyone know of any?

Join rawthreads club for $125 and they have all races available for May. Trust me -- it's so worth the cost and then you don't have to worry about being ready to register on the day of. They have races available basically up until cut-off. :)

So, in my mourning and sadness this past weekend, I went ahead and booked my plane flight and hotel stay on points. I've got my gift cards from the Half of Dopey being canceled, so I have that extra cash ... now, I just need a TA to put the race on sale. I'm OK with paying regular rate, but man ... I'd sure like a $99 half or $199 challenge ...

Hi!

Is the half course for Tink typically the same each year?
Normally it's pretty similar, but there's always the possibility that it could change - i.e. if there's construction in the parks or something like that. :)

Food question? For Sunday post-half marathon when do you all like to make your lunch/brunch reservations. How much time do you tack on for getting through the finisher stuff, walking back to hotel and showering, etc?
I know answers will vary based on corral and finish time etc.

Since I don't know my corral I'll just say maybe A or B? and maybe a 2:30 or less finish time? (knowing that could go out the window for any variety of reasons/characters/ability)...would an 11:30ish Blue Bayou be too soon or ok? Will I feel rushed?
What's yall's preferences with post-race meal timing?

Depends on a few things - like you said, when you finish and when you start. How long it takes to get to your hotel from the finish and then back to the park. What are you going to do after the race - shower? Take a nap?

FWIW, I had a post-half marathon lunch reservation at Blue Bayou after the Disneyland half...the time stamp on the picture has me there and checking in at 11:50/noon. And I am slower than you are and took a shower and nap after the race...started from Corral B and was staying at Paradise Pier. I think you'll probably be okay with an 11:30 ADR, but I have also recently learned that I need to start building in extra time for things on race day, because you just never know what can happen - I was about 20 minutes to a lunch ADR during Princess weekend because I was just way the heck slower in the race than I expected, and this was even with me cutting the all-important post-race nap way shorter than I preferred. :confused3

Good points!!! I'd rather just not be rushed. I usually am physically unable to nap until late afternoon after races (not sure why...amped brain?) but I still would want to shower and get all "normal looking" for park medal pics. Ok, I'm considering now pushing it later for a true Lunch time of day and not a Brunch-time and then just feast on cart snacks if I'm hungry. I guess then I won't feel guilty for any random character stops too :)

I'm not sure if I missed something about what caused your mourning and sadness, but here's a hug from me too whatever the cause.

We also were able to book flight and hotel on points and with our gift cards, we are thinking that we should get off with pretty minimal out of pocket expense on this one! :thumbsup2

Thank you! I'm hoping for us to run through the stadium but it doesn't look like that has happened in the past for tink!

Yeah, I think the stadium is not likely for this race.

I'm wondering if they'll be changing the location of the start for the 5K - in the past it has started on Main Street in Disneyland, which I feel like has to be sort of a logistical mess for them, and is part of why the 5K itself is so small (less than 5K runners last year, I think).

I'm expecting all of the courses to change in some way from last year, just because of construction and whatnot in the parks. :scratchin

Since everyone on the running thread is talking about what fuel they carry. Can I ask Tink-half vets what they like to physically carry during the half marathon? I've been a bare bones person, but the longest I've ever ran a race was just over 90 minutes. So adding an hour or more is uncharted territory for me.

I don't think I'd like those belts with all the little bottles, but I've been intrigued by spibelts. I have one of those large arm bands with a zipper pouch so I have room for some fuel and room key, cash, etc in there. Phone will slip in and out easily for race pics. But wondering if water stops are sufficient to leave any bottles at home.
Advise from Tink Half or other Rundisney half vets?
Is my phone case/pouch and myself enough?
