You are a very brave runner. Hopefully you can find some other HM runners and can split a taxi to the start line solutions tent to pick up your bib. Looks like the RNR Vegas expo isn't open on Sunday.

I'm officially in for all three races now. I've done lots of RunDisney events, but this will be my first time running a Disney 5k. So excited for the races & can't wait to see the updated theming for each race.

I am in for the challenge!
My DH decided he wanted to do this race and we will be celebrating our 25th Anniversary.
This will be RD weekend #4 this year for me- after GSC, Tink Half, and DDD coming up! Whew...

It looks like some of the Christmas decorations will be up.
Does anyone know if the lights on Small World are lit by then?

Yes, the lights and Christmas decorations were up on Small World during Avengers race weekend last year.

When I did this last year I paid for start line bib pick up. Super easy.

I saw that. Looks like I'll be making friends on that plane ride over.

Anyone want to be friends and split a taxi?! Haha.

my DH just signed up for this for his first runDisney event. we are clueless about these events so can anyone give us a rundown of what to expect? we booked a room at the disneyland hotel for the saturday night, and read the info on the website, but any info on the course itself, what time to get there for the race for DH and what time to DS (6) and i need to be there and what happens at the finish? we are total newbies to this (and to DLR) as DH is doing his first half marathon in Hershey in October just before this race. Thanks!

So exciting! I have only run the 10K's so it is a little different but I can still give you a general idea and hopefully others can jump in. The Disneyland Hotel is right in the heart of all the action! The pre race area is right outside the main entrance/lobby of the hotel. So your husband will basically take the elevator down and be steps away from everything. Prior to the corrals opening they have a stage with a dj, music and usually a little pre show. They open up the corrals at 4:30 and the race officially begins at 5:30. If he wants to be near the front of his corral I recommend he be there right around 4:30. I usually stay in Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel and I wake up at 3:30, that way I have plenty of time to wake myself up, put on my running stuff (aka costume). But in all truth I think you could wake up at 4 and still have plenty of time.

Depending on how fast his proof of time is he will be placed in a corral. That will help you to know when he will be done. They start with corral A and then about every 8 minutes let another one go. Depending on when he starts you may want to watch and cheer him on. Since I am at the Paradise Pier Hotel and the race starts right on Disneyland Drive... On 1/2 Marathon day I wake up at 5:15 and go out and cheer on the first Corral or two (then I go back to bed). It's also fun because sometimes they do Fireworks when they sing the Star Spangled Banner. (Last year for the Avengers race they didn't but they did for the Disneyland 1/2). A few days before the race begins they usually email out a link that you can enter your husbands bib number and your phone number and then they will text you at key moments in the race so you can track where he is at. Also you will know about how long it takes him to run a mile, and then you can do the math depending on when his corral starts. To cheer him on at the end he will run right past the Disneyland Hotel on the little service road between Downtown Disney and the Hotel.

Depending on when the last corral starts the race is usally over by around 10:30... You should be able to find a place to stand along the little service road to cheer him on. I usually go down around 9 or 9:30 and I've never had trouble finding a spot.

A few things to note, depending on what you guy's are into, I think it is fun have a character breakfast after the race so you can get some pictures with your bling and the characters. Also they usually have a company that takes photos along the race. I purposely wave at the photographers to get their attention and then they always take a few extra action pics as I approach. Each race I've done I've bought the package of pictures and they've turned out great. Also people LOVE to dress up for these races so if your husband is up for it do something fun. To see last years course just Google Avengers 1/2 Disneyland course (and search for images).

Disneystore.com is running a 25% off promotion through Sunday and in the runDisney section there's a Captain America running T if anyone needs something to wear for the runs! Also a great time to get the generic runDisney merchandise at a discount!

Thanks...Didn't like the Avenger merchandise, but got the Kessel Run shirt. I think those were gone within hours at the expo. Very happy to finally get one :)

Any speculation on which characters might be at the pasta party? Dr. Strange? Spiderman?

Any speculation on which characters might be at the pasta party? Dr. Strange? Spiderman?

The past two years at the Pasta Party they have had all 4 of the Marvel characters that were on the course. (Captain America, Thor, Hawkeye, and Black Widow) I would assume they would have all of those, the addition of Spider-Man (since he is now at Disneyland) and I'm assuming they will add a Dr. Strange Character. One thing I'm really hoping happens is a option that appeared in a runDisney survey last year... The Fab 5 dressed as Avengers. Think how adorable Mickey would be dressed as Captain America!

I mentioned this a while ago but I emailed runDisney saying that I felt they needed some more characters on course (among other things) last year and I received a phone call from a cast member saying how much they appreciated the feedback... And they seemed to agree with what I was saying. So if you feel inclined totally reach out to runDisney with any suggestions. Whether things change or not I appreciated how helpful they were.

I was really optimistic last year that we'd see Ant-Man, given that he was on the kids' races' shirts and medals. I'd be happy with anyone new.
