Yes. I prefer to stay on Katella for Race Weekends and Harbor for park visits.

Yes, but it won't be a direct route once you get past the Paradise Pier Hotel. At least, at Avengers they made us turn left and head around the front of the Disneyland Hotel towards the ESPN restaurant (Up Downtown Drive) until we reached Magic Way. They had the security check point set up on Downtown Drive. Now that I look at it, that was kind of a hike! Didn't feel like it the morning of, though, because of all the excitement.

I'm trying to remember, but I'm pretty sure we were able to walk across the esplanade through DTD to get to the corrals. We left our room at the Tropicana at 4:30am.
