Official 2016 - Avengers Super Heroes Half Marathon Weekend

Saw the movie tonight and I am definitely needing to do something with Scarlett Witch.

This is going to be an amazing race - so excited!

Just be aware that if you run the tink course tomorrow, the tink course is way better than avengers for the half... More park time. Last year avengers literally just took you straight through California adventure and no where near the twist and turns around the parks that tink has.

Of course, you do have angels stadium to run through that tink does not and i'm sure you will have fun.

@Warm Hugs - aren't Disneyland Half and Avengers nearly identical in courses? I'm curious how they compare if they're the same as last year.

I believe last year they were different. Last year Avengers takes you up to angels stadium on the long bike path, while disneyland you come the opposite and cam run passed honda center.. Also avengers you literally went in the back of cars land and went straightdown to the gates... That was all for california adventure. Disneyland takes you by world of colors after you go through cars land. Maybe they will change the course... But i would say my favorite in order is tink, star wars, disneyland, avengers.

Here's the 2015 event guide for avengers and disneyland

Thanks for the information, @Warm Hugs -- appreciate it! As I'm upgrading to these longer distances I am noticing how they vary from one to the next.

It's funny how each course is so different! The 5Ks were virtually the same and now I see how they differ at the bigger distances.

My 13 y.o. son and I will be doing the 10k.

My In-Training shirt arrived last night (after driving around on the UPS truck Monday and not being delivered) and I have to say...very boring. I knew it was when I ordered it, but I figured I was doing the four Disneyland races this year, I needed all four shirts....

Very bland.

Sorry to hear that your shirt didn't meet your expectations, @lurkergirl. I liked the ones for the Tink10K and was disappointed at how little thought was put into the Dr Strange training shirt. I thought it read: In Doctor training for the Strange 10K.

I feel like Disney hasn't put a lot of effort into promoting this race - in both registrations and merchandise. I felt the same way last year as well!

I had been holding off on booking a hotel room, and last week Get Sports travel emailed out that they had reduced the rates for both the Paradise Pier Hotel and the Grand Californian Hotel for the Avengers weekend. If you are still looking for a room and want to be in the center of the action it's actually a pretty good deal. I've stayed at the resort hotels for both the Disneyland race weekend and Avengers weekend and had a great time both times. Plus you get to enter one of the parks an hour early each day.

any idea what the rates were, by any chance? I don't think I got the email you AR referencing

Jim Stone at Acclaim Travel has bibs at a discounted price if anyone is on the fence. I just bought 2 10k bibs for my son and daughter. I'm so excited, this will be the first time running with my son. I hope he catches the runDisney bug ;-) Daughter already caught it as she has ran 3 rD races with me!

Just booked Disneyland hotel with my DVC points, and bought air tixs.

I'm so excited!!!

The longer the challenge isn't sold out the more tempted I get. I was just going to do the half but it looks like a why not on doing the challenge if finances let me.

Paradise Pier was dropped to $289 a night (plus tax) and the Grand Californian was $399 a night plus tax. Yes they are both still pricey compared to the surrounding Good Neighbor Hotels... But over two or three nights it adds up. :)
