"Official" 2015 MNSSHP thread

Me and my girl will be going to our first MNSSHP next month, I purchased tickets for two nights and we're excited, which is an understatement. LOL. I decided that its best to go to the party twice so one night is spent on shopping & the characters (All 7 Dwarfs, Jack & Sally, villains, etc) while the second night is for rides, parade & hallowishes. I have a question though, does anybody know if Disney released the 2015 MNSSHP Map/Guides yet? I want to use it primarily to find out where the characters are going to be at so I can plan out a strategy for when we're there. I Googled it and so far, there's only showing last year's and other years. Anybody's help will be greatly appreciated. :)

It will be posted after the first party. So not long now.
When in the park do they perform?
Magic Kingdom at MNSSHP.

So first time going you get a pack, everyone with a ticket can get one. Each additional visit you MUST have played a portal between picking up your last packet and picking up a new packet.

How many cards are in the "starter pack"...and are you saying if this is your very first MNSSHP...you will get the pack FREE and also this year's special card?

Also...if anybody is interested...the ABC Family Channel has their schedule up for 13 Days of Halloween if you want to catch HOCUS POCUS!!

Each pack has 5 cards. These cards are free for players. That has nothing to do with being a first timer or going to MNSSHP. As you progress through the game, they give you more of these free packs. You get one each day you play, and they also give you extras when you complete a level. We've been playing for a few years now and we're almost through the final level of the game.

The party card is what you get with your party ticket. It's different from the packs and you don't necessarily need to be a game player to get one...they give one card per party ticket, without verifying whether the party ticket holder is a game player.

Thank you for the info!!!

We have 5:05 ADR at The Crystal Palace on the day of our MNSSHP. Is that a mistake? We're doing MK that day as well as the party, so we thought grabbing dinner before the party would be a good idea. Now I'm not so sure. When do the activities get started? Is there a schedule of events somewhere? This is our first, and likely only, time doing MNSSHP, so we want to make it as magical as possible!

As long as you don't want to wait in line before the party for the 7 dwarfs or Jack and Sally, that is a fine ADR.

We changed our ADR to pre-4:00 since we are only using party tickets for entry that day and wanted to use all 3 FP+ from 3:30-6:30, but you can just schedule yours whenever you like during the day.

Party activities start at 7. This thread recently has listed many of the scheduled activities in more detail.

Your ticket is an electronic record. The printout from home is just evidence of that electronic record, just like the RFID cards are evidence of that electronic record. All the connections between your ticket and your MDE account are already there once the ticket is purchased. It's easy for them to reissue a lost or stolen ticket just using the ticket number, which is already linked to your MDE. Exchanging a piece of paper for ticket media is no different.

So I should just go to Guest Services and ask for hard tickets? Tickets with the RFID chip so it will scan the fastpasses I booked.

Maybe they are using the midnight show to encourage all of the die hard to move closer to the exit earlier. It might also split up the crowds waiting for transportation to resorts too.

No. What I'm saying is when you present the piece of paper at the entrance to get into a party, you will be directed to a CM who will take your piece of paper and exchange it for an RFID ticket right there. No need for you to go to Guest Services. It's part of the process for the print-at-home tickets. I think they'll even ask you to scan your RFID ticket at the entrance once they give it to you to verify your ticket info. The Mickey readers--both at the entrance and at the FP+ touchpoints--are RFID readers only, so you need to present some form of RFID media to be read. The piece of paper doesn't have an RFID chip in it, so it needs to be exchanged for something that does.

Last year, they seemed to have a dedicated team of CMs with iPads who were dealing with the guests who have the print-at-home tickets. I saw them exchanging the paper for the tickets for guests.

The last time I went to the party FP+ was not working so this is all new to me. But thank you. That makes sense. A couple years ago I remember seeing CMs swap out non-RFID tickets for the RFID tickets.

Okay, for any of you who are disappointed that Maleficent will not be having scheduled M&Gs during the Halloween party, I encourage you to email WDW! I did last week and have been playing phone tag with Erica who must have been assigned the duty of handling my email. It wasn't nasty or anything, I just expressed some disappointment that she would not be available for photos given the fact that this is our first Halloween party and all. Erica said that is is likely due to the fact that the stage shows are fairly frequent and even villians need their beauty sleep ;) She did say that Disney does listen to feedback and modifies schedules accordingly. She also mentioned that the stage show would go on if it was sprinkling but if the weather was too bad then perhaps the Maleficent would be available for M&Gs although nothing is scheduled as such. That made me wonder if the other stage show characters would be as well? I didn't ask about this, though.

Right, but where exactly in the Magic Kingdom do they perform so we don't miss them?

Silly me, I read what park not where in the park.

We have seen them as lined up for the parade, which we do in Liberty Square. I think they follow the parade route 20 mins before the parade and stop in a few places
to perform, like in front of the Trading post in Frontierland like the pp said.
