"Official" 2015 MNSSHP thread

Did you receive a response to your email? I emailed a couple days ago and received a message today on my phone! I was just curious if you had heard back. I'm going to call her back but I did think it was nice I got a phone call!

I just got my phone call today. A very nice CM and I had a chat about the Halloween parties and characters. He assured me that guest feedback is taken into consideration by the special event planning people. He mentioned that people who give feedback are a lot more helpful to Disney than people who have a bad experience and then decide to just not go next year. He sounded pretty genuine, so I do urge people to write in if you are upset about certain villains not meeting.

I dunno if lining up at 5 is worth it. Are all the character lines this long on party nights or just the Dwarves and Jack and Sally?
Jack/Sally, 7 Dwarfs and Captain Jack are the three longest lines of the evening. The point of getting in line so early isn't necessarily to save you any time. It just keeps you from spending that precious time in line DURING the party. You'd rather wait from 5:30 to 7, rather than 7 to 9.

Been reading a lot on this thread and I am starting to worry. Going to WDW Oct. 25 to 29th and attending MNSSHP on the 25th. Have reservations at BOG at 735pm (only time we could get). Really want to meet Jack and Sally. If I am in line for them by 5pm..should I be able to meet them and make my reservation. I know many say having a ADR during the party is not great but this may be the last time for a while we are going to be at Disney.

When will Disney release more structured information about party nights (i.e. official times, locations, special happenings)? Does this happen? If yes is it just a wait until someone goes to the first party and reports back kinda thing?

Also about an earlier post...

That makes sense, but I'm debating if Jack/Sally M&G is worth a 2 hour wait in general. Will the other M&G (other than the 3 you listed) have that long of lines?

No, the next tier of characters should have waits closer to 15, 20, 30 or sometimes 45 minutes -- depending on which characters you want to meet. Characters that are rarely out or are in costume for the party will have longer lines than characters you can easily meet during regular park hours.

Is Jack and Sally worth a two-hour wait? It depends on you. It was one of the best character interactions we've ever had at Disney. We have no problem missing 90 minutes or two hours of that pre-party time in the park. But I think if you're questioning whether it's worth it, it probably won't be for you.

I think if you lined up by 5 you'd be one of the very first, if not the first. Barring any delays in Jack and Sally coming out (usually doesn't happen) you would be able to make your ADR. It sounds like you know you'll be missing a lot of the party with your BOG ADR, so you probably don't need to hear any more from me. The only thing I will say, watch the ADRs like a hawk when your in Disney. People cancel a day or 2 before the reservation so they can avoid the no show fee. It is very possible you'll be able to get an ADR for a different day or time, you'll just have to be paying attention.

Unfortunately, that info won't come out until the first party, which happens to be a little over a week away now. The party map will most likely be released a few days before the first party, but those usually aren't all that helpful as they don't list characters (if that is what you are waiting for).

we're doing a last minute weekend trip for a party, but using the military discount tickets which have to be bought in person. Is it worth getting them the day before when we arrive to link them and see if there are any fast passes left from 4-630 for the next day or would you not bother?

Get 'em! No harm in trying. :)

The timing of everything is on The Disney site already, but not a ton of info on characters just yet.

And don't forget Kenny the Pirate.....he had a nice map in pdf form that you can print out......and he had characters listed on that. I'm pretty sure I saw a 2014 version of it. I can't believe the first party will be in 10 days, right?

If Disney decides to do the one night Memory Maker how far in advance do you think they will do this?

No more than 1 week before. We had to stand in line at Town Hall the night of the party to get it, if I remember correctly.

Last year it was offered in mid October after many of the parties had already taken place. If they do it, it should be announced this week. They're running low on time. Lol

Did you mean the link to the calendar that was posted a few pages back? It doesn't have the timing for "special" characters like Jafar, Cruella, or Tarzan so it's harder to plan. I was surprised that Winnie only meet until 9:45! Wanted to follow your footstep and meet them later (part robot :) ). I wish Disney would release more information prior to the first party.

Sorry, I meant the timing of the events (parades, fireworks, dance parties, shows). That's why I said there's not much character info out yet. :)

OK, I have a question...Am I able to book FP+ reservations when I buy my tickets. We are not passholders...I am just curious. I am 8m pregnant and want to be able to do some of the rides I can with minimal wait

We are going to the Halloween party on the 25th during our son's Make A Wish trip. I have a copy of the party Map from last year and I am wondering if it stays pretty much the same year to year, so I can plan, or will it be totally different?

Jack is one of his FAVES but I am not sure I want to wait in line for 2 hours, hes 4,. Do you think the wait will be that long at the early parties also?
