"Official" 2015 MNSSHP thread

Woooooo hoooooo! Finally finish the dress and the petticoat. Of course my sewing HAD to break down right before I got started with the petticoat o_O. I've never hand-gathered so many yards of tulle (30)!!!

Now all that's left are the cape and the Olaf tote bag. The cape is so glittery, my work area was all pixie-dusted. I wonder if there'll be any glitter left if it keeps falling of the cape like that!

Getting in that line at 5:45 or 6 *should* have you through their line by 8.

o_O wow, 8pm is later than I thought. Does the Dwarfs line works that way, too, or are Jack and Sally more popular? Maybe the Dwarfs line would move faster because they don't talk?

Nope, you will have people getting in those lines between 5 and 5:30. And once the lines start, they grow quickly.

My last FP+ starts at 5:20 which mean there'll probably be a long line for the Dwarfs when I'm done :sad2: While we're on this topic, do people start line up in the area they think the characters are going to be based on last year or will there be signs posted or directions from CMs (before 7pm)?

The first party people head for the previous year's spot. But the CMs know where the characters are going. And Disney has even announced some M&G locations (Jack and Sally are moving to Storybook Circus, for example). It sounds like chaos, but it isn't. At last year's MVMCP, my friend beat me to the Dwarfs line, so she got in line for them about 5:20 and was about 10 families back. I joined her at 5:45 and the line snaked back into New Fantasyland.

10 families at 5:20! I'm not liking how Jack and Sally are moving to the Circus this year and Cruella at the trainstation. Seems like there'd be a lot of traffic in Fantasyland. And how does this affect Donald, Daisy, Goofy, and Minnie. Won't they also be at the Circus?

Haunted Mansion is definitely enhanced and more fun after the party starts and even better after dark. They have special colored flood lights, Madame Carlotta out front taunting people in line, the special photos and the cast members have makeup on to make them even more scary!

my 5 year old had to be coaxed onto HM last year when she was 4. I am afraid if we go at night she will be too spooked by it. So we have a fpp for earlier that day (we are doing MK in the morning 9-noon and then taking a break before coming back for the party). Is it definitely scarier at night?

So glad my children are no longer very interested in characters. And the ones they do want to see are the "regular" ones, not party exclusive.

Goofy and Donald were next to the Barnstormer last year, and Minnie and Daisy were nearby along a short concrete wall.

It's exactly the same ride at night...

The ride is the same, sure, but with the CMs dressed all creepy and the more creepy feel at night with the ghosts hanging out, etc. My daughter has ridden HM at least a dozen times but got really freaked out riding it at night during MNSSHP. If you have a child who may be fearful of it during the day I would recommend not taking them on it during the party.

Yes, this. The CMs at Haunted Mansion during the party get special make up, hair pieces (cobwebs, spiders, etc), and look much "creepier" than during the day. There is also fog, lights, and ghosts (real people) on the front lawn. It definitely has a scarier feel during the party than the day, or even a regular night.

Last time we went to MNSSHP was 2009 so a lot has changed. Silly question - are apple ciders and apple slices still available at trick or treat stations?

How do you get fast passes for the party?
There are no FP+ reservations during party hours. Once you've linked your party tickets to your MDE account, you can select three FP+ reservations for 4-6:30 (assuming you haven't made FP+ reservations for another park that day).
