"Official" 2015 MNSSHP thread

I prefer to ride HM after the party starts for full effect.

You can get SotMK cards (including party exclusive) at the fire station right when you walk in at 4:00.

Keeping chill is the best thing for parties. Sure, the ride lines are shorter, but the time goes quick. It will be an enjoyable time however long you are there no matter what you "get done".

I plan to get in the fast pass line right at 6:30 since I know the line might be longer for that particular ride, I figure it might be after 7:00 when I actually get to the ride.

I'm pretty sure there will be a new sotmk card.

Very feasible. Make sure to stay on top of the weather the night of, I have seen the second parade rained out.

I thought about that and I figure I'll stick close to Liberty/Frontier lands just in case and if rain is forecasted I'll watch the first parade. I'm not a parade fan usually, I never plan to watch the regular ones and only stop for a few minutes to watch if I'm in the area, but I know they do good one for the parties so I'm trying to make sure I leave time to actually watch during the party.

You'll be inside before 7 (and likely done), and the best stuff is outside once the party starts.

If the comments on the parks blog are correct, no Princes this year:

Thanks so much for the great info Shawn. We’re so excited to experience our very first MNSSHP! Do you know if the princes will be available for meet and greets with their princesses?

Ruby – Princess Fairytale Hall will continue to host the same Disney royalty during the Halloween parties who visit during the regular operating day.

The first MNSSHP Disney parks blog post from last year said that princesses were meeting with their villains, then later edited that part out including comments referring to it. But I don't doubt that no princes will be there.

(edited to clarify)

We are hoping to do the SoTMK for the first time in Oct. Are there only a certain number given out each night? Do they cost anything? The 3 of us actually met online playing a role playing game so this would be SO cool!

Well, that's a bummer. Not only does it mean no princes, but also no villains?

Just admission to MK. Free once you are in. And if you have party tickets, you get the party card plus a regular set.

I don't know if they are limited, but we just get them as we are coming in.

Anyone know if the times were changed for the parades and fireworks? And to what times? I thought I'd read that they were and have been searching for it, but can't find any info. TIA!

Cant imagine they would change them after opening the dessert party info which involves viewing areas at established times. Parade @ 8:30, fireworks @ 9:30, parade @ 10:15pm is my understanding.

Later comments indicated that certain villians would be meeting throughout the park. And it looks like Jack and Sally got moved to Storybrook Circus. No word on if the Dwarves have been moved there as well.

First parade is 8:35, HalloWishes is at 10:00 and 2nd parade is 11:15.

When should we plan on getting seats in Frontierland for the first parade? We usually go to the second but it's a little too late now..

Sandy Claws (isn't that the Christmas version of Jack? I know nothing about The Nightmare Before Christmas) was moved back to Storybook Circus for MVMCP last year. He was in that random seating area back there. We were hanging out, enjoying the relative peace and quiet back there last December when they made us move to set up his set. I think that's a better location for such popular characters than right by the park entrance. I wouldn't think they'd move the 7Ds simply because their location makes sense and they had a good queue area set up for them that didn't otherwise block traffic, but we shall see.

The answers to the questions make me think that Maleficent and Evil Queen won't be meeting anywhere. That would be a tremendous bummer, but maybe they're just trying to keep them a surprise until after the first party, considering the debacle surrounding them last year.

I'd do 7D, and meet the princesses during the 1st parade.

My priority for characters is determined like this...
First, we figure out which characters go along with our costume theme, and then any extras we wish to meet. Once we have that list, we meet any of regular daytime characters on the list entering right at 4:00. We will grab food around 5:15, so that we can line up for one of the headliners (J&S, 7D, CJS) no later than 6:00. Since we usually wear hot costumes, we try to do as many indoor greets and attractions (like Laugh Floor) until the sun goes down. Most of the Fantasyland characters have very little wait during the first parade and later in the night. We met Donald and Goofy and WtP with 10 and 15 minute waits. This photo was taken last year at 11:50pm. We had been up since 6am. I think my kids are part robot. :rotfl2:

That was our 2nd party of the trip, which was really only supposed to be for riding rides, but we found such low waits that we met a few characters (also met the Old Hag with about a 5 minute wait)

Normally, I know exactly who we want to see right away, but this year has me a bit stumped. While our costumes are Disney, they are so unique that I'm not sure who our best options are. I know we will ride CoP as soon as we get there because it is typically closed during MNSSHP. We will also need to take daytime and nighttime photos with the CoP gears, and other Tomorrowland areas. Pics with Walt's statue must happen. We got a really great one at the end of the night last year, so I'm looking forward to that. My thinking right now is that we will meet characters that have rides in the park, with the exception of 7D. My wigged head won't be able to handle the heat of that line. :scared:

If anyone has any character suggestions for me, I'd love to hear them. :goodvibes

I’ve only been away for a week and this thread has been so busy! Need to catch up!

Thank you so much, smitch425! That is a really good picture with Winnie and his friends. So colorful!

The date on the blog post is clearly August 27th, 2015 so no, it is not the blog post from last year. It is the blog post from this year.

Not a parade fan! Me too...but this one is worth watching. The grave diggers are worth the price of admission alone! lol

Thanks all for the memory maker information. I am hoping that they will offer that one day package this year. My boyfriend and I will only be attending the party, no other park days, very quick trip to Florida to visit my grandmother. Having the one day package would be a major benefit for us. Keeping my fingers crossed.
