WHAT GOES IN TO YOUR PARK BAG????

It depends on what time of year and where we're staying (whether it's viable to do a quick dash back to the hotel for jackets etc). Here's what I think this year's bag will look like.

* Park tickets/ID/PP+
* Camera
* Cash + credit card
* Water
* Lip balm
* Sunscreen
* Travel size microfibre towel

WHAT GOES IN TO YOUR PARK BAG????

So many factors go into this as it totally depends on the circumstances such as which park(WDW vs DLR), how long we're there for, the weather, etc.
If we're at home at WDW and just going to the parks for a few hours, I'll just bring my small cross body everyday purse that I bring everywhere. This has my wallet, hair tie, cash, car keys, and thats about it. If going for the whole day but park hopping and driving from park to park I will most likely do the same, but I'll bring sure to bring my phone charger. Going the whole day at one WDW park I usually bring a small, but stylish backpack. This allows me to bring a light sweater if needed, a bottle of water or extra can of coke, and put anything else I buy such as some fudge or candy in there. At DLR last time we stayed onsite, so my park bag was pretty small, just my purse, as we were staying at DLH, the weather was moderate, and I was touring the parks by myself for most of the time so I was very free and didn't feel the need to lug anything around. This time however we are staying at the Hyatt OC, offsite by a few miles and accessible by a shuttle/cab only. We probably won't make breaks to go back to the hotel so depending on the weather we might bring a change of clothes/shoes and rent a locker for the day. Just being able to change out of a sweaty or drenching wet outfit can 100%improve a day. Especially if I don't have to waste valuable park time leaving at all.:thumbsup2 But in my purse I will definitely bring my phone charger, wallet, extra credit cards, a little cash, sunglasses, bandaids for any oncoming blister, a small sunscreen face-stick, some mints or small candies, a hairbrush(nothin' like RSR or SM to blow my hair into knots!), a hair tie, and that's probably it. In addition to a spare bag to keep in a locker for extra clothes. Trying to travel light throughout the parks incase my mom ditches me to go explore the local area--she has a habit of this-- I need to be able to bring my purse on all the rides with me! :)

WHAT GOES IN TO YOUR PARK BAG????

Planing to have a couple of cameras, alternating between my go pro, point and shoot and an DSLR, no doubt have some sunscreen and possibly have a squirt bottle with a fan. Possibly ponchos but I believe the chance of rain is slim to nil? Not going to carry snacks because we want to try all the delicious snacks in the park!

We had our photopass+ arrive today! Happy times!

This trip is going to be the first one where we are making DS carry his own small backpack. In his, he will have his Nintendo DS and his games plus a small bottle of water.

I just got a smallish backpack and in it will be:
Small travel wallet that has all of our APs, my driver's licence, credit card, cash and a Starbucks card.
Travel sunscreen
Water bottle
Baggie with band aids, blister band aids and ibuprofen.
Lip balm
Mints
A few small snacks
iPhone

DH carries his own bottle of water and his iPhone.

WHAT GOES IN TO YOUR PARK BAG????

Here's what we take...

DH - camera bag with DSLR camera, sunglasses, wallet.
he sometimes also wears a hip pack for park passes to keep them safe and all in one spot.
sometimes he carries a small tripod but I call it the "fun sucker" cuz it sucks the fun out of our park time as it's hard to take on rides and it takes up time as he sets his camera up. So we often save that for coming back in the evening so he can take good night shots. Often DD and I will split up from him and do our own night time stuff so we aren't slowed down by him and his "fun sucker" :laughing:

DD16 - small bag with water, sunglasses, and some cash. We also use this bag to put the park map in so she is the keeper of the map and pulls it out when needed.

ME - main bag with...
phone
sunglasses
credit card and some cash
flip flops for a foot break
snacks (usually a half a sandwich each and a piece of fruit - maybe a granola bar for us each as well)
water
neck coolers (thinking of looking for frog toggs this time)
hat
2 way radios (for when we are going to split up in the park)

medicine pouch consisting of... 2 of the following...
advil
immodium
pepto
band aids
migraine meds
cold sore cream
chapstick
small sunscreen stick for re applying
and a handful of pre cut moleskins for spots on our foot we feel rubbing

WHAT GOES IN TO YOUR PARK BAG????

Small camera
iPad
Charge cord/mobile charger
Pen and paper

That's about it on a daily basis. Use to carry any purchases I might make too. By the end of most trips, I just stop carrying a bag because it usually starts to annoy me.

WHAT GOES IN TO YOUR PARK BAG????

DH carries our back pack and I carry a small purse. We usually bring an insulated lunch bag that fits inside of the back pack or we toss it into the bottom of the stroller. One year I brought our lunch bag that looks like a purse, but then I realized that I shouldn't leave it in the bottom of the stroller because it looks like a purse! Sure, if someone stole it, they'd get an ice pack, a couple string cheeses and a couple juice boxes, but they wouldn't know that.

Here's what we bring:
Back pack:
DH's camera
Hats and sunglasses - these come in and out of the bag constantly!
Lunch bag with high protein snacks such as cheese, peperoni, etc. for when the kids get low blood sugar between meals.
Water bottles
Bandaids
Tylenol
Autograph books and pen
Deck of cards, crayons, little note pads, stickers (for long waits for shows etc)
Glow sticks

Our backpack came with a waterproof, elasticized cover that tucks into a bottom pouch. It's great for tossing over the bag for water rides.

Purse:
Phone
Id and credit card
Little bit of cash
A small pouch with pennies and quarters for the penny press
Everyone's park passes and room keys
Any FPs we gather during the day
All of the buttons that the kids get that they no longer feel like wearing
Space for my sunglasses (I almost lost them on Splash once when I put them on top of my head! So, I always make sure they go into a bag when I'm on rides.)

Last year when we stayed at DLH we made good use of the parcel delivery system, so that we didn't have to carry much of our shopping. It was DD's birthday during the trip, so I snuck off to get her some gifts and then had them delivered to the hotel for pick up the next morning. It was great because I didn't have to carry it around and I came out of the store with nothing, so she had no idea! Other times we just did our shopping in the evening or right before heading back to the room for a break.

FOOTWEAR!

We usually go to Walmart and get a couple of pairs of $15 slip-ons (me) or sandals/flip-flops (Ryan) because we almost always walk so much that we ruin our shoes in one way or another(!)

IN OUR BAG!

First of all, in this amazing, best-Disney-ever bag, (the Swissgear Vertical Travel Bag), at the parks we carry two soda bottles, two pairs of eyeglasses, a tube of sun screen, a small bottle of Advil, two Disney baseball caps, my yarmulke, my house keys, a couple of pairs of socks, several extra plastic ziploc bags and napkins, and various park maps, with room for more (like a compact umbrella.)

On the plane we use the same bag to hold two Nexus 7s, all our trip tickets/vouchers, and on the way back, candy from Main Street.

Also, I'm the designated bag carrier. Urgh.

I want to carry the least amount as possible. So I usually have a camera, sunscreen, id, ticket, visa and cash, water, a small bottle of advil and some chapstick. We are traveling with toddlers this time, so I'm sure there will be more taken into the park, but that will be up to their moms to worry about. :rotfl2:

I finally made our dining reservations today. Is there anyone that knows the actual cost of dinner Goofy's kitchen this summer? I'm assuming that Sunday, 8/17 will still be considered high season.

All the threads I can find list a price, but the most recent I can find is from May. Trying to decide if discounted GC from Target/Kroger are a better deal than vouchers.

I'm surprised to see so many people taking phone chargers in their park bag. I'm curious as to where/when you get a chance to charge your phone in the parks?

I've seen a number of you talk about the Gel Asics. I looked them up and they are pricy! What makes you like them so much, are they worth the price?

There used to be charging lockers along with the regular lockers on Main Street. I've heard they've taken the regular lockers out; I haven't heard what's been done with the charging lockers.

Some of the restaurants have outlets, but it can be hit and miss on whether or not they'll let you use them.

A lot of people take their own portable chargers -- battery packs that you plug your phone into rather than a wall outlet charger. Maybe that's what you're seeing?

I think shoes are very subjective because a lot of it depends on the condition of your feet. I have flat feet and over pronate and several models seem to be good for that condition. The Gel in the soul provides a little extra cushion when you are pounding the pavement every day for hours at a time.

Trust me, I'm cheap. I bought my last two pairs of Asics with a 30% off coupon at Kohls. And still I hate to think about how much I paid compared to how much use they get. I bought at pair last year just to wear to work out at home so I don't wear them outside at all. And I haven't worn them to work out in almost 7 months. :sad2:

Charging lockers! Great idea!

We have one of those battery packs too. I'm not sure what people were referring to when they said chargers. Maybe it was those.

I would never have even thought of taking a charger! Although, I don't even take a phone, so it wouldn't be much use to us :lmao:

:confused3 I don't know. We don't use our phone when out of country. We use wifi on ipod or tablet but only in the hotel. And even when we travel in country we just make sure our phone is freshly charged before heading out in the am. We aren't big phone users though.

I bought mine when they had a buy one pair of shoes and get the second half price so my daughter and I both got a new pair of shoes at the same time and took advantage of a bit of a discount.

Exactly! I refuse to even take my phone out of the country in case it starts using data in the background or something :rotfl: I've heard of people coming back from a trip to a $1000 phone bill :scared1: I just take my laptop and use the free wifi at the hotel for facebooking.

This will be our first trip to DLR where we'll be using phones. I picked up a couple SIM cards from roam mobility so DH and I will each have a US number. I used mine in March when we went to Great Wolf Lodge in Washington.
