Official 2013 Tower of Terror 10 Miler

Because the race is so late at night, would you guys still have some pasta on Friday? If yes, do you recommend it for lunch or dinner? Or possibly wait until lunch on Saturday?

For the w&d last year i had pancakes for breakfast instead of pasta the night before. (honestly icant remember what I had the night before but it might have been pasta. Or a cheeseburger... ) i practiced my eating strategy during long weekend runs at home. I think that really helped me know what to expect for a night race fueling. Jeff Galloway has great hydration tips for a night race somewhere (either run Disney or his site)

I really want to do this race but would probably have to travel alone. Since its also my wedding anniversary date that probably won't happen... :(

Honestly, a nice breakfast with a hotcake and eggs would be much better than a hearty pasta meal. Then a 'linner' (lunch/dinner) in the mid afternoon you should be good to go. Bring a snack for the corrals and stack hydrated.

Good to be thinking of it now. You have time to try out a strategy if you have questions.

I'll second that recommendation - I didn't bring a snack because I'd eaten plenty all day and I never have an evening snack at home... um, I'm also usually in BED by 10pm at home, not about to run 10 miles. I was hungry, hanging out pre-race! Luckily my friend had brought some cookies and crackers. I would've been fine without (I did have chews for during the race), but I was happier with a little snack. I'll bring a Clif bar this time. :thumbsup2

Only thing I'll add is that I remember eating a piece of pizza around lunchtime then a sweet potato about 5ish and took a banana with me to the corral. That (along with my goo) kept me going through the race.

Just officially signed up! This will be the 2nd ToT for DH and my first! Already have our room booked at BWV! :)

All registered for the 10 miler and 1st ever Disney race! Now I just need the upstate NY weather to cooperate so I can get outside!

And it looks like I may be running solo, can't seem to get my fiance to get motivated to go with me. Is anyone else traveling solo? Especially any first timers?

It's on easywdw with a crowd predictor also. Not sure how much it will get updated from this one, but it's almost time to book ADR's!! popcorn::

Also a solo runner here. This will be my 2nd WDW race as I did the half marathon this past January. DH is going down with me but just as my cheerleader and to help celebrate our 25th anniversary.

I'd say I'm semi-solo... :rotfl: I'm not rooming with anyone, but I'm meeting an out of town friend for the weekend. But she's significantly faster than I am so, though we'll hang out before and after the race, I'll be running solo.

Hey V! I'm signed up for it. Nic is doing it too, along with a friend of hers. Happy to hang with ya, since I am slow, too.

We will def be slow! I expect my friend to be placed in the last corral as her current pace is about 18 min/mile. We will be working on getting that up enough so she doesn't get swept! I told her I would stay with her as long as we don't see the sweepers. If we do, she knows I'll be leaving her behind. Hopefully it won't come to that tho:)

I guess slow is the way to go!!!!!

PrincessV I just read some of your blog and it's so helpful! Love your info on the past TOT race and the Princess 1/2 because I'd love it do it in 2014 if the TOT race goes well. Hopefully this race goes better for you this year!

Just something I've been wondering...what do you take with you to the corrals? And do you carry a bag or anything during the race?
