Regretting not grabbing a snack for the plane. Ah well nothing I can do about it now.

Going to try a cupcake at Starring Rolls once I get to DHS. Any flavor reccomendations?

Anyone frustrated with Disney websites. Or maybe they should be called Disney Dead Links. That new theme park schedule is nuts. It's as if the designer has no concept of time as most people experience it. You know, like 9:00 a.m. happens before 11:00 a.m. within the same day.

I wanted to look at menus. From our last visit in January, many food items have changed. Hess Station pizza is starting to look good.

Anyone know where to get white sticky rice and broccoli at a Disney restaurant?

Hi, everyone! I haven't posted on this thread yet but I've been reading along and loving it. I'm sure this has been addressed already but is anyone else just DYING of excitement?! This will be my first half marathon and I am just counting down the seconds. We are heading to Disney tomorrow (we live in FL). I think I might cry at the race lol When I started running I never would have thought I would be excited to run 13 miles! princess:

Yes, I am dying of excitement too! I did my last short run yesterday (3 miles) and toward the end I started thinking about the race and finishing it, and I teared up. So it's not just you!

So glad to hear you're feeling better!!

*************

Last day at work...woo hoo! It's gonna be a stressful one...didn't look far enough ahead when I booked this trip (not that it would have stopped me!) but with the Oscars happening this weekend, I gotta have all those ducks in a row here before I leave today so my back up won't have to deal with it tomorrow. Hopefully nothing will change last minute for her tomorrow (yeah right...). It's the scariest time of year for me...where one errant key stroke can cost BIG $$ and most (if not all) of MY behind. :scared1: So, double-quadruple checking is in order. Guess I should get to it! :coffee:

I'm glad to hear you're feeling better too, Princess Joan! I was really worried about you. I didn't want you to miss being a Perfect Princess.

Cripey, what do you do? Good luck with the quadruple checking. I'm sure you'll be fine. Like you, this is my last day of work, and it is STRESSFUL. Just need to get through .... then the fun begins.

Ok ladies, I'm absolutely FREAKING OUT. This is on my bucket list (to run a marathon) and started training in September. I'm 47 and never done anything athletic in my life but figured I wasn't getting any younger! I acquired an ITB injury last month and laid off of it for 3 weeks... tried running 3 miles Tuesday and pain was still there... I feel like I won't be able to finish therefore not reach my goal... I have to decide if I can walk that fast cause once the pain comes, it only gets worse. Or do I run slow and hope the pain doesn't get bad. Any ideas? I've literally been tearing up this past week. I'm so frustrated!

On a happy note... my cinderella skirt is cute! :flower3:

I'd visit the KT Tape booth at the Expo and have them tape up your injured area. Then walk it if you feel comfortable, or run VERY slowly (or do a little of both if your body feels up to it). As long as you stay ahead of the balloon ladies (and try not to hurt yourself more), you're ok. Good luck!

The unthinkable happened to me yesterday. I had been feeling fine then suddenly fever and chills. With all the pollen a sinus infection. After 2 doses of biaxin I'm starting to feel better I too worked this morning but am now waiting at the airport. I can't believe it's almost here.

First, my DS lives in Denver!
IT band such a pain...KT tape may be your best solutions for now. And take some aniti-inflamitorys and ice a couple times a day. STOP the drugs at least 12 hours before the race, those can mess up your kidneys. Since you are probably on the way, the resorts have ice and I use the bags in room and just for 10 min. three times a day. Stretch out your hip area as well. the IT band runs down the side of the leg, like a sleath and the inflamed area near knee is where it is rubbing, causing the pain. After the race, stop running and start some exercises to stregthen the core, quads and hams. And ice and anit-inflammatories.

Hope you feel better...you better rest tomorrow. Just did that sick thing yesterday, but am eating today and doing better. pixiedust:

Hope your flight is smooth too.

Does anyone know the policy about people picking up race packets for you? I couldn't leave today because of work, but I'm really worried about getting out of Chicago on a flight tomorrow due to weather. What will happen if I get to WDW after the Expo closes...I'll need my family's bibs to run the 5k and kids races on Sat :scared:

I work with commercials/ad agencies at the ABC station in Houston...the Oscars are just as crazy as the Super Bowl when it comes to the commercials. :scared: So, on top of trying to work as far ahead as I can for my back up while I'm gone, I have to make sure all that is lined up today (when normally I would have Friday to look over it all one last time!) and is CORRECT! ...and PRAY they don't dream up something new to change and throw at us tomorrow. Obviously my back up would have to handle it, BUT my BF works here too in my department and he is cutting his flight pretty close tomorrow after work...he doesn't need anything last minute cropping up and keeping him here late! I don't think I've watched the Oscars in the last 10 years since I've been here...I figure if something goes wrong I'll just find out about it monday morning...if I see it happen sunday night during the show, I wouldn't get any sleep!

you can do it, but the person picking up the packets needs the participant's signed waivers, a signed packet pick up authorization form and a copy of the participant's photo ID.

All the forms are on the rundisney site...waiver and you could have photo ID faxed to you or whoever. I have actually signed a family members name, just do it before you get to the expo.

So this happened:

Might be taking my Ariel costume a bit too far... (nah!)

24 hours until we leave for WDW! Can't wait!

Looks great!!!

Oh this brings back memories of my AF civil service days when I was the contracting officer on the AF advertising contract....;). We should have drinks and discuss !:cool1:

Waiting at the airport for our flight...delayed because of storms in Dallas...at least I'll get there today !

Thanks joan4mickey - that sounds doable! I'm afraid to stop the ibuprofen that far in advance!!! I'd copy your post - but I don't know how...
