Not fair! :).

Glad you guys made it! I'm about to head to my massage, the finish packing and hit the hay...I'm thinking its going to be a 4am alarm tomorrow!

You are driving from New Hampshire with children in one day? How long does that take? And how do you keep those kids strapped down that long?

Ha ha ha-- no! Kids stayed home this trip! We drove it with them last year, but we split it into 2 days. We drive to see family in Canada a lot, so they are used to long trips.

It's about a 24 hour drive from our house to Disney. :)

Well I have a title for my trip report 'Nearly Stranded on the Resort Bus'.

I work with commercials/ad agencies at the ABC station in Houston...the Oscars are just as crazy as the Super Bowl when it comes to the commercials. :scared: So, on top of trying to work as far ahead as I can for my back up while I'm gone, I have to make sure all that is lined up today (when normally I would have Friday to look over it all one last time!) and is CORRECT! ...and PRAY they don't dream up something new to change and throw at us tomorrow. Obviously my back up would have to handle it, BUT my BF works here too in my department and he is cutting his flight pretty close tomorrow after work...he doesn't need anything last minute cropping up and keeping him here late! I don't think I've watched the Oscars in the last 10 years since I've been here...I figure if something goes wrong I'll just find out about it monday morning...if I see it happen sunday night during the show, I wouldn't get any sleep!

That's totally cool sounding. I love learning about things in the entertainment industry, which is why your post piqued my interest. Ihope you managed to get through it all OK. I finally finished my work and now need to turn to packing.

Woo hoo! Florida here I come.

I got a really cool email
"Cosmopolitan Magazine wants to talk to you!"
And so did the 328 other Perfect Princesses.
They are writing an article and are looking for stories and photos.

I really should be packing, but every time I pass by my computer, I have to look and see who has arrived for the weekend.

Wow! That is so cool. :cool1:

So just you and DH? All that time together without interruption. :goodvibes

Exactly! It's been 6 years, I think we need a few days away. Miss them a lot, but so happy to have this grown ups only trip!!

OMG. So we've gone from "everythings all right" to "we're not going to Disney World kids" to "maybe just mommy's going but you have to miss the 5K you've been training for all winter" to "we can do it but we have a ton of connections and we're not arriving until 1:30AM...about 3 hours before it's time to get up for the 5K"

AAAHHHH!:scared1:

The kids are going to go for it. If you're at the Royal Family and you see Pocahontas with a very tired looking 9 year old Meeko, please give that raccoon some love. She's running to save kids lives and she really wants to do it, but this may be the hardest thing she's done in her life. :goodvibes

Uh oh. What happened?

Do tell....

It's not as bad as I thought it was going to be admittedly (I made the post right before we started moving). Anyways I was leaving DHS after dinner at Sci-Fi Dinner with the Fantasmic crowd. So we are creeping along and as we turn to go out onto one of the main steets everyone in the back of the bus myself included hears a loud well booming noise for a lack of a better term. Somehow (I don't know how) the driver didn't hear it and continued driving like nothing happened.

About oh 5-10 minutes later the lights on the bus suddenly come on and we realized he had pulled into a stripped section of the road. He says something that I miss but someone in the front says something back and he steps out of the bus for a few minutes. I figure he must have gotten a call from Disney's central hub of transportation or whatever it is called about him hitting the bus or the other bus hitting him since he obviously had no clue he had done something.

All I can think is oh lordy mo he damaged the bus and he's going to have to file some sort of accident report. Normally I wouldn't be too bothered just annoyed. But at the moment I have a headache and was five minutes away from snapping at the people on the bus to turn those darn mickey ear bows off (I didn't but only because the incident lasted very short).

Finally it takes 15 minutes in which I find out it looks like the other bus's mirror got snapped and not much else. However just as suddenly as it began the ordeal ends when he turns the lights off again and pulls back out. I don't know what the heck happened but I wasn't complaining since it meant that we weren't stuck with the bus for another hour and I was finally going back to my hotel room.

When we did get there we all saw that the middle doors had a fair sized scratch on them. Unfortunately all attempts at getting a photo of it didn't turn out so well, so no photo.

The almost being stranded refers to the fact that if he had more clear instructions we probably would have been stuck on that bus for at leas another hour. As it is he didn't and we weren't.

Also I have found my new least favorite Disney product. I don't know if that band has only one setting or not but those were going way too fast (a case of blink on and blink off). All I could think was how much it was bothering me and I don't have huge health issues, and I couldn't help but wonder if it would be a danger to someone with a form of epilepsy. I know it seems like I am overreacting but those things were going off at a rapid rate and from what I know even slow blinking can be enough to cause an episode depending on the person. But this wasn't slow.

Anyways I am off to bed. I am getting up at 7:30 so I can get to the expo as soon as possible with the buses.

Well enjoy your time together. And enjoy the little ones when you get home. They grow up so fast. Our second child is getting married a month after the PHM. First wedding for us, don't think our oldest will marry for a while. And one week after the PHM, DH and I will celebrate 29 years anniversary.

So sorry and stressful. Pocahontas is my DD favorite princess. Sending pixie dust (on my iPad and can't find that icon).

Oh my goodness, what an ordeal! Good luck to you and the kids at the 5k...how wonderful that you all are so determined to see this through for your charity. :)

I am so upset, my sister lives in Kansas City and her flight is cancelled. She won't get into Florida now until Sat night at 11 pm! Now she's talking about not even running :(

Oh no! Tell her to dig deep and find that toughness that she built up while training for this! It's there :) hopefully it's just the stress of the flight problems talking and once she gets there shell change her mind. I hope it works out for you guys! :)

Tell her I'm right there with her in that we're not getting in until 12:30AM, but my tiny princess still wants to run her 5K (which is like a 1/2 marathon to her) in the morning, so how can the big people not run our races on Sunday?

I hope she runs!

(Now what is this new pain in my left knee? nononononono....)

Are you picking up her bib and shirt etc? have it all layed out and looking really cool and give her a big hug and you will both probably cry when she arrives and it will all be so real. I think the "I don't think I will run" is just a defense as she fears she won't make it and she is preparing herself emotionally.

AFM: I am up and having a little breakfast. Feeling a litle better today. My flight comes in from Rio and is on time to Charlotte. NO, I'm not on the flight, it's just the flight that continues on to MCO from Charlotte.

Agreed! She can do this, we all can. I am a nervous wreck and I'm just a short drive away. We are women, hear us roar.

So exciting Joan! Perfect Princess Posse in the house! We are getting up now and going to wander over to breakfast and then the expo :-)
