Should I be concerned that I usually taste like a salt lick after I run?
Higdon Novice or Advanced. I find that the intermediate plans would be better if you were planning on doing the Goofy. But too advanced for most running their first or even second half marathon. Jeff Galloway spoke during the DL Expo and talked about how he used to do one minute intervals (walk/run) but was going to do 30 second intervals instead. So, I took his advice and it was great. I improved my HM time from the Princess to the DL by 25 minutes even with having IT band pain and having to take it a bit easier towards the end. The important thing at Disney is to have fun. I think too many treat the races like they were at the Boston Half or New York Half and don't enjoy it as much as they should. Sure, people beat records, but they don't notice all the fun stuff or speak to all the fun people. BTW, Jeff Galloway likes to be in the back corrals because he likes it better. The atmosphere is different, the people are a bit more fun and not nearly as serious. No matter how much my time improves, I am never going to declare it to get to move up to the top corrals.
I like being with the fun people.![]()

Me too!
I did Galloway training 10 years ago when I did the ATL 1/2 Marathon. I stopped running after I completed my 2nd 1/2 later that year. Now, I am loving the time I am out alone which I didn't nec do 10 years ago. I guess I am older and wiser as I have realized I will never be very fast or win a race, but for me just starting it and finishing is winning. I also want to have fun doing it.
I think I will get the HH book this weekend.

If you are stopping to look at cute dogs YES. My dog LOVES me after I run...all the salty sweat I guess.![]()
Nutrition Question! Tomorrow is my 6 mile run, I am going to estimate it will take me 60 min. Should I take one of my gels at 30 min? Or am I still out there long enough to be taking any of the gels yet?

I am so pumped about how well my C25k is going.....I did 25 min straight this morning with my fastest pace yet...not that its about pace, but happy I am just doing the program.
I was diagnosed with Plantar Faciitis in April, its been alot better but my heel bothers me the nights after my 3 runs a week. I am trying to be extra good about doing my stretches after I run and also during the day...I am just a little worried as I start to get stronger and add mileage it will get worse. It does NOT bother me at all during the runs so far. Any one been through this?
I am going to be very conservative when I start training for the princess.....I am so excited about doing it, hoping my injury will stay away. I have a running coach who also is dealing with this and if it starts to hurt bad again, i will go back to my doctor.
Anyway, just excited about my run today and looking forward to 28 minutes on Sunday! Who would have thought I would be doing this 8 weeks ago.![]()
6 miles completed this morning...YAY! Half way there babyI decided to take it super easy, 6 miles is alot. I wasn't going to worry about speed and time, the goal today was simply to finish the 6 miles. Pacing was 2 1/2 minutes slower then normal at 13:20 a mile. Not complaining, just proud of the accomplishment of hitting the halfway mark, minus the fact I kept asking myself, Why am I doing this? What's wrong with me, who in their right mind would want to run 13.1 miles? What am I getting myself into? and my favorite line....Am I almost home yet?.....LOL Hey gotta do something to pass the time by

Congrats to you!!!![]()
I did my first 8 miles this morning. I completed it in 2 hours and am a little disappointed because it took me longer than I had anticipated.About 3/4 of the way back I started to have some lower back pain and wasn't feeling to well. I walked the rest of the way back. I plan on taking it easy the rest of the day!
I hope everyone has a great Saturday!!![]()

Can someone point me to the post about corral placement? I would like to know what corral I will be in based on my projected finish time - I remember seeing it buried in this thread somewhere.
