I am hoping he says you have time. Mainly because you and I are at the same mileage. I did 4 miles yesterday and am planning for 5 this weekend. I printed out a calendar and, working my way backwards from the princess half, wrote down my long miles per week. The way I have it ( I found a 19 week Galloway program), I am supposed to 'start' the first of November. So I am using this time to get to 6 miles and feel relatively comfortable with the distance, and hope speed will come as I continue to train and will add hill and speed workouts.
Planning out the miles helped me to see concretely what I needed to do to prepare.
How did you find that plan?
I was to do 5 miles on Saturday but I did NOTHING

So today I just did 2 miles on the treadmill and my feet still hurt. Can you get inserts for your running shoes?

But honestly, it was my best run yet! I was tired when I finished, but not exhausted, and it was just bliss to be in those northern woods for an hour. I ran part of the same route for my weekday half hour run yesterday. When I uploaded my Nike+ info to the Nike Running website last night, I discovered that at some point during one of those two runs, I had my fastest mile to date, but I honestly have no idea when. I would guess it was on my shorter run, because it had the lower overall pace. The longer run was 13:12mi and the shorter was 13:00mi. Considering this was the most hilly terrain I've had to deal with, I'm very happy with that time. Neither run included the huge hill (and nearly as steep driveway) up to my parents' house. I don't even want to think of what that beast would have done to my pace!
