When I registered for the princess, I had not run a 10K, so I could not provide proof of time. I ran a 10K this morning, and I want to submit my time. I know they gave me an email address when I registered, but I can't access my information for some reason. Does anyone know they email address that I can use to provide proof of time?

Thanks!

I found this on the espn website:

PROOF OF TIME

Disney Princess Half Marathon
If you believe you will finish the Half Marathon in less than 2:45 hours, proof of time is required for start corral placement.

Please provide proof of time at the point of registration.

Proof of time should include name of race, year, distance and time finished (i.e. 2009 Boston Marathon - 3:35 OR 2010 Disneyland Half Marathon - 2:25). If you do not have a proof of time to submit, list N/A at the point of registration. Half Marathon proof of time must be from a race 10K or longer. All forms of proof of time must be from a race after July 1, 2008. If you do not provide proof of time you will be placed in the last start corral.

If you do not provide proof of time at the point of registration or acquire it after you have registered, then email this information to disneysports@ trackshack.com before December 27, 2010. After December 27, 2010 you will need to bring proof of your estimated finish time to the Runner Relations booth at the Expo if you wish to have your start corral placement changed. If you listed a race result as proof of time when registering online, then you do not have to do anything further.

Hope this helps!

Registration is up to 60%!!! Just noticed that today.

They will change it for you without a probabluy once you email them, that crystalight gave you. It may take them a while to get back to you, but they will, becasue I already did the same a while back ago.

By the way everyone, like I mentioned 2 posts ago, that I haven't been on here in a while, due to my runners block last month. To see the coutdown on the ticker is very Exciting! Only 3 months to ago.....SUPER EXCITED!

Would love to know as well, how many of you are training for the full distance of 13.1 miles, and who is only training up to 10 miles?

went out for a 4 mile run today after having not run for almost a week due to strep throat and my foot hurting.

my foot is bad. like, bad. i just spent forever looking up a sports medicine person in my insurance plan. of course the darn website makes it impossible to find simple information.

i'm really upset about this. i'm sure it's nothing but doing 4 miles left me limping afterwards. i showered and went to church and even just standing hurt.

:sad2:

Thanks again!

Nancy, sorry about your foot, keeping my fingers crossed that you are on the mend soon

Glad I could help :goodvibes I had to find that info after my 10k a few months ago. I still haven't emailed them yet though...

Only got through 6 miles today, but I'm okay with that. I do need to start building my miles. I've been stuck at 6 mile long runs for a month now :sad2: But, I have gone from run/walking to running all 6 miles, so thats progress right?

Congrats to everyone submitting times this week. And I too hope your foot starts feeling better Nancy!

WOW you are amazing! Intervals work better for me....I give all you runners who are able to run continuously, especially long distances. Not apart of my hereditary traits here...hehehe

OMG I think I just convinced DH that I "NEED" to do this race. I am soooo excited :cool1: I should register this week!

I just ran my last race of the season.......its getting too cold here in the north ;) I ran a 10K and got 3rd in my category (woohoo) I was so excited. My time was 50:45.....not my best but the cold got the better of me today !

I am so sorry that you aren't feeling well. I can imagine between the strep and the foot, it has been frustrating. I hope things turn around quickly for you.

How was the 15K? Was the chocolate good? And yea on finishing it, and in good time!!

I am impressed with all of you northeners running in the cold. It was 60 here the other day ( Texas) and I was cold! What can I say, I am a wimp:rotfl:

1. I am training to do 14 miles, so I know I can do it. Hopefully, I will avoid injury! Following Galloway

2. dumbo_buddy, so sorry you are getting over being sick and have a hurt foot. Insurance makes it so hard to find a good doc, I had to blindly pic my foot doctor for my Plantar Faciitis...he was ok, but sure would have been nice to be able to see the #1 sports guy in town, alas he was out of network. Good luck with your foot.... My doc was ok and foot is doing better hopefully this will be the case for you.

3. I did 5 miles today. I want a garmin so I can be sure of my distance, decided it was safe based on my training runs to just put 66min in my IPOD Runner app with my 2/1 intervals. I got home and when I mapped out where I ran, it was exactly 5 miles! Not my fastest, but the route ended up being more hilly than I like. Finished strong though. Was thinking during the run, some parts I felt Fab, some I was thinking "how the heck am I going to make it up this effing hill?". But overall Good run. I am psyched, as I am thinking yeah, I can do this!

Hope training is going well for everyone.
Dumbo_buddy, hope your foot starts feeling better soon. Maybe a podiatrist would help. My friend's foot hurt and she got fitted with a insert that helps a lot. Feel better soon.

Did my first official running race yesterday. The Chicago Run for Hot Chocolate 15K. Finished in just over 1:28. Went faster than was comfortable but had to keep up with my friend. ;) Now I just have to see if I can make it for another 4 miles at that pace.

It was a great race if anyone is interested in doing it next year. Very well run, beautiful course, and you get chocolate fondue and hot chocolate at the end. :thumbsup2

Happy running ladies. Now I just have to keep motivated when the temps drop. My warm bed is so much cozier than getting up in Chicago during the winters.

I am planning on only going up to 10 because I think it will be a neat moment to cross that finish line and it be the first time I accomplish that distance. I am a newbie to all of this and am walking much more than running and my only goal is to finish. I did my first 5 mile walk/run today and I felt great! That is a long way for someone like me just beginning and I can already see improvements and how I am getting stronger with each one. I have also lost 20 pounds and feel better than ever! Tonight I am really sore though - one of my heels hurts and my legs are sore - any tips on how to help with those things?

Great Finish Time for the Hot Chocolate, I did it to but I am slow, I finiished in 2:14, I had a great time and can't wait til next year to do it again,
but, boy there was a lot of people there.

Last year I went to 14 miles; I'm really glad I did because by mile 10 I was not feeling good and was ready to be done. This year I think I wil go to 14 again; but I will also really figure out how many sport beans are enough!

I plan on registering this week! I think that will encourage me in my training.

I just started officially training, and am going to try to get to 12 miles. I merged the mfm and galloway plans, and sort of met them in the middle. I know many feel that 10 is enough and the last 3 will be run on adrenaline and the crowds, but for me, I'd have more peace of mind if I can at least get to 12. It will all depend on the winter we have here in the northeast. If it's really icy, I might join a gym for a trial period to get some treadmill runs. I also do run/walk intervals, and have been doing run 4 min/walk 1 min, which works well, but toward the end of longer runs, I do more 3/2.

 So sorry your foot is feeling so poorly. I hope things start to look up soon.

I find it amazing how on the same run, you can feel so good at times, and think you're going to die at other times. Some days after a run, I think I'm going to have no problem doing the princess if I keep training, and other days I think there's no way I'll be able to make it. :rotfl: Just want to stay ahead of the sweepers. I envision the old loud street sweeper trucks cleaning the gutters coming after me.

Keep up the great work everyone!!! Congrats to those who have run races recently. The chocolate fondue and hot chocolate sound like a fabulous ending to a race.

For your sore legs, warm espom salt bath can do wonders. Make sure you are getting your post run stretching in. If your heel is bothering you, make sure you are doing good calf stretches. Did it hurt while you were running or after? Read up on stretching and make it a priority after your runs. I think when you start to add distance, its normal to feel some aches though. Also having proper shoes makes all the difference in the world.

Congrats on your first 5 miles!
