Official 2011 MNSSHP Party Planning Thread ..BOO to You and You..Happy Halloween!

Hello!
We are headed to Disney in October for our second family trip and our first MNSSHP! We are so excited!

I was hoping for some advice about dining reservations.....Right now I have two for dinner on the night we are attending the party (10/25). Which one would you choose.....Liberty Tree @ 5:15pm or Tony's @ 7:05pm? 5:15 is a little early for us to eat dinner on a normal schedule, but we are felxible and I was just worried we may miss some fun party stuff if we wait to eat at 7:05.

Thanks for any advice!!

Easy for me to answer. No way would I spend valuable party time eating in a restaurant. The party is expensive and has so much to do, why spend 2 hours of it eating??

I usually eat around 5p, some people even earlier. But I would never eat past 6p.

Good luck!

Agreed! Definiltey would recommend going with the Liberty Tree at 5:15pm. Not only will you miss less party time, but I like the food at Liberty Tree much better :)

Woooooh!! I've been DYING to go to a MNSSHP for so long, this might be the year if I can pull it all together in time! It would be last minute but so worth it! :thumbsup2

We're hoping to do a quicky trip from the 6th to the 10th. Would party tickets for the 7th(Friday of Columbus Day weekend) sell out quick, am I at risk of missing out on it?

Also, I want to get some MNSSHP merch, but I don't really want to spend the party shopping...do they still let you walk through the shops and make purchases at the end of the party, like midnight-ish? I know they let you do that during regular operating hours, wasn't sure if it would be different for the party. Thanks! :goodvibes

We will be there at MNSSHP on September 13th!
:cool1::cheer2::banana::yay:
I am so so so so SO anxious to be there!
I can't wait for it! I can't wait to see the headless horseman! He's my FAVORITE! <3
My group and I are going to be Wilma, Barney, Fred and Betty! :D
AH! Sooooooooo EXCITED!

2012 MNSSHP trip moved up to 2011. Now I have less than 2 months to plan a trip. I guess its a good thing that I have been stalking this thread just for fun:)

I think I've decided to skip dinner for the party. LOL! I think a late lunch at DTD (we are staying at SSR), and then if we are hungry later, some snacks AFTER the party.

How late does DTD stay open in October anyway? ;)

I just bought our tickets to our first MNSSHP this week! We'll be there on October 13 (boo to no discounts that night, but maybe the PP is right and it might be less crowded?)

I also just ordered Disney Halloween shirts for DBF and myself off ETSY, they're super cute. Mine has Minnie dressed as a ghost and his is Goofy dressed up like Mickey :lmao:

For those of you that have done the Villains show/M&G, how many of them do you have time to meet after each show? I know you can't get autographs, but will they pose for pictures with you?

I'm sure I'll have more questions in the next few weeks, but this thread has already been soooooo helpful! :worship: Thanks all

We'll be there too! 1st party, lots of visits to wdw! Haven't read yet anyone on Disboards going on the 13th!

We will be at the first party on the 13th !! It's our first party and I can't wait. We have not yet decided whether we will dress up. I think I might just get my boys Halloween T-Shirts since the stores are starting to bring them out anyway and let my Older DS get his face painted that night since it will be free. Anyone have experience going on the first night? Is it less/more crowded?? Plus it being a Tuesday I heard that makes it a little less crowded too. I think I'd like to get my face painted too with DS, not sure if Adults can do this too or not.....Are there a lot of Photopass people in the park that night? We plan to pre-purchase the cd and want to get as many pics as possible

omg omg omg, I am finally done reading this whole thread. There have been so many things I have wanted to respond to, but now it's so far back I feel it's too late. To the person who asked about the short princess dresses, about 20 pages or so ago, I will be wearing a similar one. I am going as the red queen and it is a similar style to those that you posted, and I was thinking the same thing so I was glad that you asked. My DD will be Alice, a fun up to date one, DS will be jack sparrow. Still working on DH. Hard to find something that won't be too hot and that he will actually wear. He is a difficult one! Love seeing all the costume picks. Thank so much to everyone for all the help. It's our first time and we will be there sept 23rd!!

I know Hong Kong's Halloween Party is scarier than ours, but I wrote in another thread that I feel in some ways we get ripped off on our MNSSHP. Look at their floats in particular. They have a TALKING JACK SKELLINGTON float! Their Space Mounatin ride gets redone for the party. I think for the adults that go to MNSSHP, WDW is really not adding anything I'm excited about. I don't like any of the M&G characters that much. I would love to met some NBC characters and see these cool floats! I'm only going because my family is going, but I think it's a total rip-off compared to the other parks. No offense.

I think WDW gets by, by saying people are paying for candy, free face painting and characters, but these parks get that and more! So, in comparision, it's a rip-off, I think.

Wow that Jack Skellington float is AWESOME!

I heard there are adding some new elements to the party this year at WDW, so let's hope so and let's hope they bring the party up a notch. I will not be returning if they don't.

That's pretty cool, but I still think Boo to You is much, MUCH better!

I am a massive NMBC fan... but so old school... I remember when even getting merchindise of the film was stupidly hard and no-one had heard of it! There wasn't anything about.
It kinda saddens me that a lot of Emos use it as their film, when that's not the meaning of it at all. Just because it's set in a slightly darker world that our own... It's almost a cliche to say that your fave film is NMBC now!

Here's their Space Mountain: Ghost Galaxy. WDW could do another theme, that's less scary but cool. But really: DL in California gets a ride change and so does DL Hong Kong, why doesn't WDW at least do something? I think they are copping out.

You aren't alone in wishing that they would make the same ride changes at WDW that they do at DL, I've read a thread about this on another WDW site. However, you would be surprised at the uproar this conversation causes. Apparently, more people like it the way it is. I would love the NBC characters to be out at the party, but I don't necessarily want a HM Christmas. I would LOVE Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy though!!!

You def need to go to Disneyland's one then, because they have Jack and Sally as Characters out and about... Granted Jack is sorta alien looking, and also they redo Haunted Mansion from October- December to be Nightmare Before Christmas and it is AMAZING... They also do Space Moutain Ghost Galaxy... That's a much easier trip!! :)

But they have no parade. That was a deal breaker for me. The Boo To You parade is half of why we go. There is no better parade in all if Disney-Dom.

I have been away all summer, but have decided that despite two bulging disks in my back, I am going to go!

We are going the first night, and I fear there may be bugs to work out, they are usually pretty good at planning, so I expect it should still be great! I also hope for less crowds that night as well, especially since I will probably have to be in a wheelchair! They are far cheaper than ECV's and I am pretty young so my arms are strong so I think I can get around efficiently enough.

So if you see a redhead in a wheelchair be kind.. I don't wanna be in it!
