Official 2011 MNSSHP Party Planning Thread ..BOO to You and You..Happy Halloween!

Who does the trick or treating: kids only? or can adults also trick or treat?
Another ? --when does the horseman ride ( I know it's somewhere on here, but I can't find it) ? and when should we find a seat to see him and wait for the parade? TIA!
33 MORE DAYS!!!!

trick or treating is open to everyone, we are 2 adults with no kids and we do it every year and have an amazing time.....and the cast members always have fun with us and treat us like kids as well..we love it.......as for the horseman , he rides twice a night at the beginning of the 2 parades.....and I would say and i'm sure many will differ from my opinion but anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes before the parade I would find a place....once you get to the park they will give you a map with all the trick or treat locations, and the times for both parades...........enjoy and have a very faBOOOOlous time

I think I know the answers to these questions.

1. YES adults can trick-or-treat!! They give everyone a small bag. Isn't that fun!?

2. The headless horseman rides 15 min before the start of the parade. He takes the same route as the parade so if you are in place, you will see him. They say he used to rear up on his hind legs when he got to the bridge to Liberty Square but, not the last 2 years so I read.

3. The 1st parade is always more packed than the second. 30-45 min prior unless you want to camp on Main St.

How many days until the first MNSSHP of 2011??!! :yay: I can't wait for someone to post the map and tell us all about it!!!!! :yay::yay::yay:

OOPS! I guess Jeepsrj types faster than I do! Sometimes I see something, go to reply and by the time I post, someone else has posted before me while I was typing!

Add us to the MNSSHP list. We have tix for the 10/2 party. :cool1:

This will be our first one & we are looking forward to it. I'm told the Headless Horseman alone is worth the price of admission.

I've skimmed the first few & last few pages, but am wondering, are two adults not in costume going to be totally out of place? You all have some great, very detailed costumes lined up, but that just isn't us. However, we don't want to be the only two there not in costume either.

We're also going on 10/2. Haven't decided about costumes yet . If we do it will be a t-shirt or some thing simple like that. We are eating at Citrico's before hand so we probably don't want to wear a full costume although I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem.pirate:

we are four adult friends and we are going as Fred, Barney, Wilma and Betty...and eating at Whispering Canyon before and in Costume... we always have so much fun when we go in costume...but no..you will have just as much fun even if not in costume...but I say for the fun of it..even if you don't do a full costume come up with some creative shirts...that's fun too...:-)

Going to the Sep. 27th party. Leaning toward the old school horror movie monster movies. ( Dracula, The Wolf Man, Mummy) Still undecided.

Glad to know we won't stick out like sore thumbs. :thumbsup2

Do we need to bring a bag for the candy with trick-or-treating or do they give you one?
I've been told they give you a bag when you arrive.

I found this site earlier today & it seems to have a lot of good details & information. Sharing since I imagine others may find it useful too.

Do any of the villains have props? It's my dream to have a pic of the Evil Queen or Hag... (whichever I'm most likely to see...) offer me an apple!

Would I have to bring my own apple?

The Hag does carry around an apple... You'll have to be on the CLOSE lookout for her though, as she isn't assigned a spot, and is just randomly there throughout the night. Pretty awesome to get a picture with though. I was like screaming last year. She is usually over by the Snow White ride, between that and the little souveneir shop right there that sells a ton of princess dresses. That's where we saw her both times last year. You can ask when she'll be out, and they'll give you an estimate, although, apparently as they say, she has her own schedule and all.

Wow, I had no idea the hag was in the park...we only went to MNSSHP in 2008 and didn't see any Villains. I know they had the stage show but I had a scaredy 4 year old at the time and she was more interested in everything else going on so we only saw parts of the stage show from a distance.

Just watched that video so I have to ask....is it normal for 626 Stitch to be out at the party? I know in '08 he had a dance party but I thought he was dressed as Elvis for that. DD would die to see him in the orange suit..and we have that exact costume here at the house. She may even get out of her Rapunzel get up for a little while to hang out with him in her Stitch costume!

I am going to MNSSHP in September for the first time ever. I have read through 80 some odd pages of the 2009 thread, until I found a link to the 2010 thread. Then I read through a ton of that until I found mention of this thread. I just have one question, and I haven't seen it posted yet. I know that there are special halloween pins that availabe only at MNSSHP, but do the CMs at the party have those pins available to trade??? Thank so much for everyone sharing their tips, I have spend countless hours reading them.

I haven't done any Pin Trading but I believe the special Halloween pins are put out in certain gift shops at 7pm when the party starts.

I know that's how it worked for the MK Event Party Music CD that they sell. Now I believe it is available all the time (unless they run out).

I don't think so, don't quote me, but since they are limited only to people who bought tickets, I don't think the cast members even during the party have them.

I know! She is so creepy!!! They also have the step sisters and step mom from Cinderella, sorry it's too early for me to remember their names. They are out all night over by Dumbo. At least that's where they were last year.

Where is the best place to sit during the parade?

Hello!
We are headed to Disney in October for our second family trip and our first MNSSHP! We are so excited!

I was hoping for some advice about dining reservations.....Right now I have two for dinner on the night we are attending the party (10/25). Which one would you choose.....Liberty Tree @ 5:15pm or Tony's @ 7:05pm? 5:15 is a little early for us to eat dinner on a normal schedule, but we are felxible and I was just worried we may miss some fun party stuff if we wait to eat at 7:05.

Thanks for any advice!!
