Official 2011 MNSSHP Party Planning Thread ..BOO to You and You..Happy Halloween!

We are making a special short trip from the opposite end of the country, just to attend MNSSHP! We will be there Sept. 27th! Halloween is the most amazing time at the MK, I can't wait!!!:cool1:

In the past years Captain Jack was not available for meet and greets at the MNSSHP. It would be an extra special bonus if he were to appear this year!

He is, however on a float during the parade. And the guy who does it is a DEAD RINGER for the real thing! :thumbsup2 I was swooning a bit.

Halloween is my favorite holiday so I'm tempted to do this but dh is worried we look like a couple of creepsters dressed up without kids for this event :lmao: part of me is like I can't believe I'm finding more ways to spend more money at Disney and the other part of me is like I want to experience everything that I can!

DH and I are on the fence about going too, I want to go to see HalloWishes and the parade, as far as getting DH to dress up I will be lucky if I can get him to wear a Halloween Tee. We are going to take our chances and not buy tickets until later hopefully it will not sell out the night we plan on going if we go. From what I know a lot of couples attend who do not have children.

Hi! We are considering going to the party either Sunday, 10/23 or Tues, 10/25. Any thoughts on which would be better crowd wise?

Think this will lessen the local crowds? (hopeful)

We are planning on going the 31st bu we can change that date since wevare pretty early in our planning stages. Crowds crazy on this night, scale of 1 to 10.:confused3

We are planning our very first WDW trip and I decided that we are going to do MNSSHP this year. We are local to DL and have never done it out here either, so reading this thread is really helpful.

I am torn between going on the 10/10 and 10/13. I like the 10th because it's a DVC discount night, but I like the 13th because we leave the very next day. Seems like a great send-off, no? Further complicating things are my plans to go to Potter-land on the 11th - reading these boards people say the best day to go is Tues or Weds...I guess I could change Potter to Weds....

Oh man. I had no idea there was so much to figure out when we decided to do this trip!!

But very excited nonetheless!! :cool1:

The Halloween party on Halloween itself WILL sell out, it does every year, buy your tickets early. Lots of local people buy tickets to trick or treat there with their kids too.

This is the absolute last (read: LAST) thing you will ever need to worry about at this party. Everyone young and old dresses up, and trust me, there's so much going on that no one is going to even notice if you have kids with you or not. :upsidedow

Don't let a minor worry like that keep you from dressing up and having a great time!

YEP! We've got ours for Halloween Night!! And we can't wait! Busy or not...how awesome to take our kids on Halloween to MNSSHP!!! :cool1:

We are going on Halloween Night. Our plan is to eat dinner at 5:00 at Whispering Canyon and then take the boat over to MK. I'm thinking we'll probably get to the MK between 6:00 and 6:30. Will we miss anything by doing that? My understanding is that the party doesn't actually kick off until 7:00. Is that correct?

That's right. But I believe you can enter the park at around 4 and get your wristbands etc.

Going to the September 20th party - this will be my 3rd one but DH's 1st - can't wait for him to see the parade and the fireworks show!!! :woohoo:

We are going to the party on Oct 18th. So excited as its our very first. Thanks for all the great ideas!

We are going on the 30th. And since we are staying at AKL, we will have a breakfast at Boma. Then we will go to Animal Kingdom Park and after enjoying some time there, we will be having a late lunch/early dinner at Yak & Yeti. Then off to MNSSHP! Hope that won't be too much.

Has anyone done the print at home ticket? I saw that as an option and I was considering trying it. That way I can buy one ticket a week, because it will seem like less than buying 5 at once :rotfl:

I think we chose to have them delivered, because I think there was a charge to print them at home. I'm sorry, but unless I intend to turn them around and resell them, I refuse to pay a "convenience charge" for THEIR convenience.

Can anyone tell me when the MNSSHP tickets start to sell out? I called earlier (while I was away from home) & the CM told me that 10/27 was close to selling out, so I bought an extra ticket for a friend, but I don't know if she'll actually be able to meet us at MK that night yet. I'm also a little peeved b/c the CM told me that I had to pay the $5 for shipping, but then I got home & saw that I could have done them via will call or e-ticket for free. She insisted that because it was 30 days prior to the party that they could only be mailed. (I explained that this was not the case for MVMCP a few years ago, but she did not have a response.) I kept thinking that I should just buy them online, but I got nervous when she said that it was close to selling out. :headache:
