Official 2011 MNSSHP Party Planning Thread ..BOO to You and You..Happy Halloween!

Yea Im not really happy about the week we are going but it wasnt my choice. Seems my sister who booked us through her DVC points could not get the following week which was the week we picked. I think DVC books rather quickly in off season or something.
So we are going Columbus day week. But we will be just arriving Sunday while most of the short weekend crowd will be leaving Monday. So i am praying that will make the rest of the week bareable.
I am NOT going to the party Monday (columbus day) but only because the next morning we have 8am YES classes to attend. Can't stay up and party till midnight and then get up at 6:30 or 7 am.
I am 75% sure we will do MNSSHP on Tuesday but Im going to wait till a little closer (say end of Sept) to purchase tickets. I want to avoid a sell out party if I can.

DVC gets buys in October (we're DVC members) because point "cost" is low, it's relatively slow down there (so a good time to visit) AND Food and Wine is going on at Epcot. 3 great reasons to use your points! :)

It won't be bad. I've never been THAT week, but we've been for the end of September, the first week in October, and the last week in October before. It's about as "slow" as pretty much any time of year down there. While I expect Columbus day weekend to be relatively busy, the week after should slow down quite a bit. It'll just be busy compared to the OTHER weeks in the month....but far better than pretty much any other time of year, likely.

I don't think they had EARLY sell outs, last year, of more than a few of the nights (Halloween, Nov 1st, and maybe 1 or 2 others). There were a few parties, if memory serves, that sold out "day of"...but there's not much you can do about that.

From talking to other people, the Halloween party lends itself a little better to sell outs than the X-mas party, anyway. It's doesn't gridlock quite as badly from what I've heard.

Really, we're taking the kids so they can trick or treat in MK and see the fireworks. Anything else we do would be gravy....

We will be at the party on the 7th - It's our anniversary, and it will be the final thing we do on our trip. It will be DH, DD (2y), and I, however my entire family is talking about coming down, which would be a blast! Pretty much the most fun I've ever had in my life was when my mom, 2 sisters, and I went to MNSSHP. It was the first time we went and had no idea what to expect. We kept getting awesome candy, and my one sister only got Bit-O-Honey or Tootsie Rolls. It was hilarious.

Me and my df have received our tickets and will be at mnsshp on the 20th oct we have only booked one day we are planning to buy another ticket whilst there if we wish to do it again or if we don't have time to do everything.

Do you think there will still be tickets available on the day after the 20 oct??

Hoping to do this when my ds gets a little older...his birthday is Oct. 14th, so this would be perfect...just hoping it's worth the $!

Attending the last party on Nov. 1st.. was wondering when is the best time for the Woody, Jessie and Bullseye dance party? My dd loves them, should I be sure to go to the Diamond Horseshoe before 7pm or is it something we can do later on that night? :)

Also, I wonder how the Alice & Mad Hatter treat trail will be affected with the closer of Toontown. Will you still be able to do this? I have never been to the party and I am looking at last years map.

That is a great question! I wonder too.

I wondered that too. Also where are these Dance party's?

Subscribing to this thread because we are attending the October 10th party and I want all the info I can get!

The Woody, Jessie, and Bullseye Dance Party is at the Diamond Horseshoe in Frontierland :) The other dance party is at the tomorrowland stage, with Stitch and other characters.

We are going Oct. 25th. This will be the 4th time in 5 years! the BEST PART IS THE SHORT LINES FOR THE RIDES FOR LITTLE ONES. We don't care about making a game plan we prefer a more laid back approach. Our day usually statrs with a late breakfast and then back to the Fort for a lazy day nap. Then we arrive at MK around 4 to go have a late lunch and just let crowds do as they will! we don't even worry about the kiddie rides until parade time, then head over there as the crowds are thinning out and many are watching the parades. After that then we decide if we want to do those same rides again or do a little bit of trick or treating. We do enjoy seeing the villians so many times we try to get up front for that but nothing is a must see or do. The Boo For you Parade is my DGD's fav! That is the one must see but we usually choose the latter for less crowds! It's an awesome party and something we all enjoy!:hippie:pirate:

I plan to will call the tickets, since I'm not able to print them out at home (you can only do that if you're only ordering special event tix, and we'll be ordering our park tix as well). So my question is, where do I pick them up for will call? Can I pick them up at the lobby concierge desk like I plan to do with my normal tickets, or do I have to pick them up at MK will call out side the gate?

TIA

I am going to be stalking this topic a lot! DD and I just went for her first trip this month, and as FL residents, I was thinking of driving up for the day just for the party. (its only an hour drive) Not only that, as I was reading and day dreaming about it, my boss just walked up and asked if I want to work on Monday (memorial day) for double pay. Well, that covers the cost of tickets almost exactly! Must be fate. :thumbsup2
Now that I have some extra money... I am debating doing dinner with Cinderella either at CRT or Park Fare. I think DD (4 yrs) would adore that. Her Halloween costume is Cinderella, since we got the dress in MK this month. How does one get from the Grand Floridian to MK? Would it be best to drive up, park at MK, monorail over for dinner, then monorail back for the party?
And if you were driving up for the party, which night would be the lowest crowds, in the later half of October?

How are the lines for the rides during the party? We went to the MVMCP several years ago & it was very crowded the night we went. We didn't ride anything that night because of the lines very so long. We are going to the MNSSHP on Thursday Oct 6. We may go again on Fri if there are tickets still available if we don't see it all

Can any one tell me if you have been albe to meet Captain Jack at the party?
This will be our first party and we will be going mainly because my cousin is dead set on meeting him.....

Going that early the lines should be next to nothing. Last year we went on Thurs. Oct 21st and were able to walk on all the rides with no wait. I was shocked and loved it and relized how big the que for SM was as I just kept walking and walking until I got right on the ride. Lines seen to be alittle longer for some of the meet and greets.

No, he won't be there. I do understand he has appeared at the Disneyland Halloween party, but not at the WDW version.
