Official 2011 MNSSHP Party Planning Thread ..BOO to You and You..Happy Halloween!

:surfweb: From past years, tickets for the MNSSHP on October 31st sell out by June 1st. But, you never know because they have been known to sell out within the first week being on sale too. As expected, October 31st is THE most popular night. Also, the nights leading up to Halloween are busy and have sold out in the past. So, if you have your heart set on a certain night, I would purchase the party tickets ASAP. JMO :goodvibes

Have a magical trip! :wizard:

I completely disagree. The first tickets to sell out (Halloween night) have never sold out before the end of August. Sometimes September.

It's safe to wait till at least August to buy them. :thumbsup2

Will other parties sell out in advance, or only the ones right around Halloween?

Can I safely wait until the week before to buy tickets for either Oct. 18 or 20?

Just a heads-up for anyone who is trying to order tickets from the Passholder site they have a mistake on the page to buy the tickets.

Oct. 23rd. is missing but they have Oct. 25th. listed twice. I just called Disney Tech. Support and told them of the error. Very nice man in tech. support!

I of course was trying for the Oct. 23rd. date!

Logically the first listing of Oct. 25th. should read the 23rd. so I did click to order just to see if it would be added to the order page with the correct date but no it shows as the 25th.

Just an FYI!

Peace.
Colleen

I stand corrected and used another sites information. I have done some research and came up with the official sold out dates. I will change the post to not confuse anyone. :goodvibes

Still, I personally wouldn't wait too long if I had my heart set on a known sold out party night. JMO :wizard:

Sorry if this was already asked, I've read through some pages, but not all.

I thought I'd heard you can enter the park at 4pm with party tix and that the general public must exit by 7pm when the party starts. I called customer service to confirm this and they said there's no way to know that until the day you get there. Sometimes they let you in at 4, sometimes they don't and to arrive by 6:30.

So I came here and read the following in the first post...

"The party is 7:00pm-12:00am. Party goers with MNSSHP party tickets are permitted to enter the Magic Kingdom at 4:00pm using their MNSSHP ticket. You will be given a special MNSSHP wrist band upon entry."

I always thought that was the case, so was the CM I spoke to misinformed or is it a day by day kind of thing?

Thanks!!

Also, do you think there is any difference in crowd level on Sun 10/30 or Mon 10/31? We're arriving the morning of Sun 10/30, so my instinct is to check in, relax by the pool, eat a late lunch/early dinner, then head to the party around 4. Another part of me is thinking it would be fun to be there ON Halloween. Although we could do AK during the day and head to DTD for dinner and trick or treating on the 31st.

Thanks again.

Yes, they have been letting party goers in at 4:00p since 2001 and it is something that is unofficial and unwritten. And so because it's unofficial and unwritten, many CMs that you call on the phone do not know about this little perk.

Of course, every year this ends up happening. Guests getting different answers when they call Disney. And there is always a slim chance that Disney will someday, for whatever reason, take this perk away and the only way to know for sure is for the first party goers to report back that they were, indeed, let in at 4:00p BUT having said that, it has happened every year since 2001 and I think IF they were going to stop doing it, they'd make it well known well before the first party.

Anyway, yes, you can (more than likely) get in at 4:00p party nights with just your party ticket. Just check here after the first party and you will know for sure and without a doubt. :)

Despite having been to MNSSHP only once, I believe they LIKE having the partygoers go in the park at 4ish to "encourage" non-party ticket holders to leave. If the lines are long and you can only get on with a wristband, non-ticketed people are more likely to leave the park without being asked.
We are returning for the 1st party with the kids this year- it has been a while, so we'll see if my theory holds water!:confused3

Just bought our tickets for Nov. 1! So excited!!
Halloween festivities at the beginning of our trip, and Xmas at the end with MVMCP 11/13! Party party party!

ocoing to the Sept 30th party its my first time

as i have never been to mnsshp i dont have a schedule of what to do at what times. it will only be me and my DH and probably for only 1 night. we would like to meet characters and also watch the parade and hallowishes, and as my DH loves candy he will be sure to save time for trick or treating.

is one night enough? does anyone have any old schedules of when and what they did that night?

looking forward to hearing what the first night was like :banana::banana::banana::wizard::wizard:

thank you....

I don't think it is to "encourage" non-party ticket holders to leave. I think it is more likely that they are trying to "encourage" non-party ticket holders to buy tickets. By allowing party guests in early, especially those in costume, it gives off the impression to the non-ticket holder that they might be missing something special. If they don't end up getting tickets for that night, they may end up buying tickets for the next party.:confused3

Here is a link to last years MNSSHP thread. Lots of info on what was available, as well as some party reports and pictures if I am not mistaken.:thumbsup2

I actually think it's to spread out the timeframe when people come through the turnstiles. It would really bottle up the works to have 30K people (or however many it is!) show up all at once.

This will be our first MNSSHP! For those who have been there before, is one night enough to see & do everything? We will have time in the park too another day. My kids are teenagers now. Also, I have heard that there are only a few place to eat during the party. Which ones are open? I thought we might do a big lunch & a lighter dinner. Thanks

I agree with you...can you imagine the mess that would be?

I called yesterday to get tickets for Sept 20th with the military discount. I was told these tickets could only be puchased at the resorts and customer service... Has anyone else come across this? TIA :confused3:confused3
