Official 2011 MNSSHP Party Planning Thread ..BOO to You and You..Happy Halloween!

We bought our tickets for 10/27 today. No DVC discount, but we did get the advance purchase price.

These party tickets are getting expensive! :scared1:

My first time for Halloween . We are probably going to be there the 30 or 31st. These must be very crowded days though. Still looking forward to it. We usually go for Christmas and enjoy MVMCP.

We are planning on being there during Halloween and I have seen that the MNSSHP sells out on Halloween every year, but with limited tickets sold I am wondering how busy does it get? How long are the line ups for the rides? This would be our only trip to Disney during our time in Florida so I don't want to go if we can only get on a handful of rides due to wait times. We went to a MVMCP a few years ago and walked on to everything that night. The other option would be to go November 1. What do you all recommend?

My fiancee and I will be on our Disneymoon Oct 17-22. I just purchased the party tickets yesterday for the 18th,and can't wait!!

The wait times for rides probably won't be bad at all. Most people are there do the rides on other park days, and pay the extra for the party to see the parade, fireworks and special characters. Main street will be CRAZY BUSY!

I wanted to wait until we could see a weather forecast, but the hubby said to pick the best day for our schedule and go ahead and buy them, so...that's what I did. Can't wait! This will be our 2nd time for MNSSHP and we loved it the first time around. Oh happy day!!!:cheer2:

Is there a thread from past years that shows pics of costumes? I know it's still early, but I would like to start planning our costumes now. I start back in school full time plus working full time in the fall, so I'm hoping to get as much done this summer as possible. Thanks!!

We are hoping to do the Sept 20th party this year and we are renting DVC points, so does that mean that they DVC member has to purchase them for us? Last time we did the party we just went through Disney, but my DH said that the DVC member may have to purchase them now? Just wondering.

If I am not mistaken, I believe this thread has a lot of information about last years party, as well as pictures and party reports.:thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 You can purchase the party tickets on your own. They have nothing to do with your lodging situation.

You have to be a DVC Member to get the discounted tickets (on select dates). But, you are only renting points. So, it doesn't matter to you. ;)

Have a magical trip! :wizard:

when does the 10/31 party date typically sell out by?

:surfweb: From past years, tickets for the MNSSHP on October 31st sell out by September. But, you never know. As expected, October 31st is THE most popular night. Also, the nights leading up to Halloween are busy and have sold out in the past. So, if you have your heart set on a certain night, I would purchase the party tickets ASAP. JMO :goodvibes

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party tickets sold out for October 31st:
2010 - September 22
2009 - September 14
2008 - September 1
2007 - October 5

Have a magical trip! :wizard:

(FYI - Last year, November 1st sold out too.)

We're coming to the party on Oct 27th! :cool1: This will be our first trip to DW, first MNSSHP, and first Disney Cruise (Oct 29-Nov 5)! I can't wait!!!

:cool1: Congratulations on your first trip to WDW and the party tickets, and an even bigger Congratulations on your first Disney cruise. We'll be sailing on the Dream a few weeks after you. Take a few rides on the AquaDuck for me until we get there! ;)

You ARE going to have an amazing trip ... Walt Disney World with a MNSSHP AND a Disney cruise! :wizard:

It is the most popular night! And with that said, we just got our tickets for the 31st yesterday:rotfl: At 7am sharp to be precise!:surfweb:

Has anyone else here started on their costumes yet? I bought the material for mine last weekend because it was on sale, and I'm going to be making it from scratch. (Going as this demon sort of thing, Disney friendly of course). I have my cheap-o horns that I got off ebay too. Materials are slowly gathering together but I have yet to start!

What's everyone going as? :upsidedow

Put it to DH last night..."what would you like to do on your birthday (October 6) - lunch or dinner at Le Cellier or go to the party?"...he says, "why not lunch at Le Cellier and then the party?" Can't argue with what the man wants! :lmao: So it looks like we are joining the October 6 crowd!

:dance3: We normally go with the kids. But this year, DH and I will be at WDW in Sept/Oct on an adult-only WDW trip. :cool1: So, I am leaning towards a "couples costume". With the new POTC movie coming out (May 20th), I may lean towards that theme ... Captain Jack Sparrow and Angelica
