OFFICIAL 2010 Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP) Tips and Tricks

AWESOME! My sis who was a CM said the same, but I wanted to make sure with people who have been there resently. Sis hasn't worked at Disney for over 2 years. things can change I told her, but I guess not in this area! :woohoo:

Starting to really get excited about our first MVMCP party on Nov. 16th. We also do not have a regular park ticket for that day. We will rest & enjoy POP & maybe DTD before the party. We are planning to be at the gates at 4PM:goodvibes

We'll know in just a couple days what the definate entrance time is; the policy is likely to be the same as MNSSHP.

I called tonight to have park hoppers added to our tickets before paying our trip off. The lady I talked to told me that this year it would be different and while we could get our wrist bands at 4 we would not be able to enter the park until 6. Now we all know the various stories we will all be told but that was mine for tonight.

Interesting. So how is that supposed to work? People come get their wrist bands at 4:00, but then are told to get lost until 6:00? :confused3 So you end up with a lot of annoyed party people milling around outside with their wrist bands on waiting to be let in? Not sure what the logic is here ... although we all know how well WDW is known for their logical policies! :lmao:

ETA: I realize if they used this system the idea would be to cut down on conjestion with people having their wrist bands ahead and not everyone trying to enter with a ticket en masse. But without some sort of holding area they are just going to end up with of a big pile of people hanging around outside the gate. I just don't get why they would change things if the current system is working.

 love this thread ! ... we are going on Dec 5th for the 1st time ever ! and are soooo excited :dance3:! ....
But i do have a couple question i dont know if anyone could help me but i figured it was worth asking :confused3
OK so i read that Belles Christmas story but will it be replaced with anything? i know that the reg. story time has been replaced with Rapunzel so is she gonna do a christmas story??
Also do to the construstion of fantasyland where will be the other dance party seeing as how it was in Ariels Grotto??

Also for the people who have gone before what are your must do, must see's and any tips for a 1st timer with 3 kids ??

Thanx lovies:santa:

Word is that Rapunzel's Meet & Greet will be open during the party.

The Tremaine family dance party at the Grotto has been replaced with a dance party at the Diamond Horseshoe with characters from Toy Story.

And last I heard no Scrooge's Tree Stand, and no Scrooge.

Hmm...it looks like no Space Mountain this year for MNSSHP. Do you think the same will hold true for MVMCP?

Kind of a strange and disappointing turn of events. :sad2:

I find that surprising since that is one of the few rides that would consistently draw in a solid number of people during a party. With the number of tickets they sell any more, it would seem to me they would want as many "people eaters" open as possible.

having not been (YET, looks like I'm in for November 12th MVMCP) to either party, I'm curious if the use of the Tomorrowland Stage adjacent to Space Mountain, creates too much of a bottleneck to have both operating smoothly!?!?

I went to MVMCP a few years back before they were running the Totally Tomorrowland Christmas show...my family is going back this year and I was wondering what some party regulars thought of the show?

You can view the show on youtube: here is part one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQ62uN-e89g

My kids 3 and 5 have been watching the old show and they so much prefer it!!1 To see Goofy dressed as Santa and Minnie and Mickey and dancing reindeer is so much more enjoyable for the young kids and I'm sure the older generations.

It is nice to see Mike and Sully and Buzz and I know Stitch has a cult following, but I can't imagine this show is very marketable to the masses. And the story/script seems to be just a bit random. I guess having a cartoon and a fairly annoying Master of Ceremonies saves WDW a lot of money as the cast is significantly reduced from the Twas the Night Before Christmas production, but save money and at least give us a decent storyline!!

So DH and I arrive on Nov 30 and have an adr at artist point for dinner at 6. I had planned on watching the Holiday wishes fireworks from the poly beach later that night. I watched some youtube videos of fireworks from there and it seems really far away! we have done the mvmcp twice before in 07 and 08 so i wasnt going to get tickets again, but i realllly love those fireworks! Am i crazy to go again just for the parade and fireworks? i am assuming if we went after dinner we could be there around 8. what do you guys think???

Poly is a little further than watching in the park, but it's a great view.

Couple notes, the music at Poly is not very loud, so if music is important find a speaker to sit near.
