Anyone else thing those Chinese awards hostess dresses are beautiful?? I DO!!

We were watching the ceremonies with our 17 year old DD, who said that she would LOVE to have one of the "Blue and White Porcelain" gowns used at the swimming ceremonies, or the "Sapphire Blue" gowns at the gymnastics awards for a prom dress.

Anyone know where we can get one?
P.S. DD is half-Chinese (I'm of Chinese descent), so I think she would look great in it!

I thought the dresses were gorgeous too but I did think it was funny in gymnastics at least that the women matched the floor.

I think the Chinese have done an excellent job with the decoration of all the venues. I was thinking that during diving last night that even the high dive platform looks very nice and not like a just a cement slab or something suspended in the air.

The gold medal jade is whitish. The bronze medal has dark green jade.

I like the darker jade on the backs of the bronze medals better than the light jade on the other two.

I bought my daughter some light purple jade earings an was told that that is a rare color???

Yeah, I was thinking that too...especially the white ones. They were very pretty.

The keepers used every color they had. Was so funny....we thought he'd just walk over the top of it and he basically laid down and made a grizzly paint angel.

So, the anchor of the women's 4x100 said someone must have a voodoo doll on USA track and field. She's a little right.

Are they overconfident? Not well-coached? Something is awry in USA track and field.....

I dozed off in the commercial break between the 2nd and 3rd games of the VB. But DH came home, so the garage woke me up at 2-0. Then he came in and talked to me. But since the 3rd game was a blowout, it didn't matter. Guess the Brazilians need to run a little more before they're in 3-game shape. They looked awful!

I felt terrible for both of the relay teams. What are the odds that both of them would have drops on the last exchange?? So sad.
