Offical free dining watch 2008

I just booked my trip with WDW and those dates/code which was posted today on this thread (8/24-9/20) was "unofficially" confirmed starting on Monday. I booked now and was told to call back on Monday when the promotion actually starts to modify my reservation.

And of course we arrive on 9/21. With no chance of moving the trip up. :sad2:

Ah, well, se la vie. We're still going to Disney!

What dates did you secure? I (like so many others) am hoping that we can check in on 9/20/08 and still get the FD.

Is AAA the best way to get a good deal on the room. I'm thinking of booking today in hopes that FD will be announced next week. Or should I apply for the Disney rewards and try to book that way Monday? HELP!!:scared:

I would go with a Disney specializing agency instead of AAA. Most AAA offices do not open until 9 or 10am and most of their agents will not be up at 7am trying to change the reservation over they will wait until they are in the office.

Try someone like dreams unlimited, small world vacations, etc

Have you ever heard of mouseketrips??

True, but we did tell ours that if he didn't get up and call at 6AM, we would be calling Disney ourselves, lol. So, he is doing it, and then calling from home -long distance-to let us know what he got.;) But we are a party of 16 with 4 rooms, and free dining means something like $2800 to us.

Are their rates (deals) comparable to AAA or is this simply for the best service and assurance of getting DDP? I ask since I would book through AAA today and then make changes as necessary next week. But I did just remember the AAA guy said he's going on vacation next week!!! :scared1:

As a general rule you aren't going to get any AAA discount on this package so the rate are exactly the same and in most cases the service is better.

When your AAA guy said he was going on vacation did he tell you someone would cover for him? If not, you are getting bad service RUN! lol!

I just got caught up!

Yippee, maybe.

Has anyone answered the question yet of a minimum number of nights for the FD package?

This may have been asked and answered already but with 68 pages I may have missed it.

Our friends are going at the same time as us, she applied for disney visa last week and got it today. I didn't because I thought there was no way I would get it in time:sad2:

Anyway, she is going to book hers Monday morning . . . my question is can she book more than 1 room, one for hers and one for ours??? and if so can she make it under 2 different reservations???? I don't want her to have to be stuck with our payment stuff. Would she only have to put the deposit down, then I could pay the rest?

Got off the phone with our TA is afternoon and she confirmed the dates of 08/24 - 09/20. Although she said she was told it would not be announced till April 20th but I think she has her dates confused. :confused3 Now the big wait is on. She said she talked to Disney themselves and they said they would allow free dining for the lenght of the stay as long as you check in by the 20th. :yay: Which I am hoping for as we are booked for 09/17-09/24. Although I will not feel any better till it is offically announced and I get my ressie fixed. Hopefully we can keep our dates, if not we can change them but that would suck as our ADR's are already made. Then I would have to cancel and remake them all, spending another hour on the phone with Disney Dining again. I hope we hear something soon....This is killing me, how will I sleep this weekend with all the questions....:guilty:

That's how I think it will work too. Otherwise they would have went to 9/27.

I check in on the 20th.

I just applied a 20% code to my package - just in case.

Does anyone know if it will include a discount on Deluxe Dining?

Yes, you can book two packages under one credit card for two different people. I did that with my Disney Visa for our reservations this past trip. We booked our room and then my parent's room at the same time on the same card.

Where the dates the same? My parents are arriving 2 days before me. I would like to use my 20% code for their room too. Can I do that?

I really hope this is true, because our dates are 9/17-9/20 and we can't change them. :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

I really want to know the answer to this one too. I have just changed my dates back a week because I have a feeling that this may not be the case next week. But who am I to know for sure. But if so, I might just change my dates back to what I really wanted.
