Offical free dining watch 2008

As per info on another thread I called Disney and asked about the Free Dining Promo, using the code, and was told that it would not be out for about another week.

Since I did not see a flutter of threads of folks who had already booked I sort of thought it was too good to be true but one never knows. :)

Still waiting and a watching, Slightly Goofy
The code is probably right, but you've got to wait till the promotion actually starts.

I'd forgot all about the extra points thing. I'll probably pay mine in chunks with the Disney Visa and then pay it off as I do it. Then towards the end, I'll use the points I've built up to finish it off. I've already got over 100

Are the extra points for all cardholders?? I didn't recieve an email or anything about it?

The card said something about registering...do you have to register something before you can qualify for the 6x reward points? And I thought mine said something about qualifying purchases...specified groceries, gas..etc. ? Mine's at home, so I'm going my memory, which is not so great!;)

Last year I used my Amazon card to buy some big items needless to say at Christmas time it was nice to use up those reward points and not pay oop:)

"Did you factor in the one park tickets you will need to buy for the free dining portion of your trip?

For us, we have 20% off our room. We lose $220 from that discount and would have to pay an additional $290.76 for the one day tickets for all of us. "free" dining would only save $495.84 during those days but it would cost us $510.75 to save that. Not to mention the time to check out and check back in on the 24th. I think we will just stay with the reservation we have and I'll be one less person tying up the phone lines for the rest of you.
"

We're in the same boat - we have our trip booked from 8/20 - 8/30, and have a 20% off code for our room. Between losing the discount and purchasing a 2nd set of tickets, "free" dining would net us $9!:lmao: If the dates hold true, we'll be staying off the phone lines too!

If you can, send me the info this evening. Because I can't totally remember.

Another nice thing about the Visa card is lets say you put down $200 deposit on Monday. You've got 6 months to pay that off. Then another we'll say $300 in May. You've got 6 months from THAT date to pay off, and again in June, July, etc. Its based off the last time you made the charge on the card, not the first date of the selected deposit.

WOW...didn't realize that the 5x reward points was for only certain cardholders. I guess Chase is taking pointers from Disney and only sending "PIN CODES" to certain folks!

Folks, I sometimes despair of having any brain cells left. My only excuse is that I am a very busy lady. :rotfl2:

I glanced at the calendar and it said it was the 7th but it was MARCH!!

Excuse me, please? :lovestruc

I promise to sit nicely and wait for Monday. Not patiently though. :rotfl:

I got the 5x reward post card. When you read it closely it's for Groceries, gas, airline tickets and it think one more catagory. And it's after $600 in those catagories. Well that's the way i took it anyway.

i am really hoping those dates are wrong...i dont want to lose dining for even one day..we are checking in on the 12th and out on the 21st..do you think they will let me slide..will the night of the 20th be included???so if promo ends on the 20th..does that mean i get free dining on the 20th or is my last night to get free dining the 19th?? do you understand question..wouls i get 8 or 9 nights of free dining with my dates?

What are the latest dates everyone is saying FDP will be offered? I keep reading and am very lost. We are there Aug.23-30. TBH I'd rather not travel during FDP and pay for DDP that way there would be lower attendance.

The dates that are being posted are for 8/24-9/20.

Is AAA the best way to get a good deal on the room. I'm thinking of booking today in hopes that FD will be announced next week. Or should I apply for the Disney rewards and try to book that way Monday? HELP!!:scared:

I just booked my trip with WDW and those dates/code which was posted today on this thread (8/24-9/20) was "unofficially" confirmed starting on Monday. I booked now and was told to call back on Monday when the promotion actually starts to modify my reservation.

labdogs42: Did you book the bounceback when you were there last year? I tried calling four times to change my resie from the Poly to CBR and was always told "no, there is no availability at any other resort." I got some encouragement from some people on the boards and I decided to try and call one more time. I did and this time I got a CM who knew what he was talking about. He admitted he couldn't change the reservation but immediately got someone from GR on the line who changed the resort for me without any problem. So maybe try calling now and get the resort you want without having to wait on hold with everyone else on Monday. Good luck! pixiedust:
I changed my bounceback ressie w/o any problems I orriginally had 9/20-9/28 at POP I changed it to 9/9-916 at AKL and then changed again to 9/10-9/17 AKL and took off my DH and added my mom instead. When I booked the bounceback the CM told me I could change it around. I dont think she should have to wait either, Sorry to hear they gave you such a hard time I would have been  Glad it all worked out for you though:thumbsup2
