So I’m ready to start looking and making an offer on a contract when I find one I like resale.
I have read many good things about many resale companies on here
Is it ok to call or email multiple companies and tell them what I’m looking for and see who finds something for me or is it more acceptable to just work with one company?
I want to do this right and looking for insight as to the proper procedure
Thanks

I totally agree. You want to be in control of the offer. Patience is what you need more than anything! :rolleyes1

At one point when we were looking and getting close to understanding what we wanted, I reached out to establish relationships with some brokers, because that was important to me...One agent called to introduce herself and ask if I had any specific questions, another at a different agency didn't respond until I made an offer. Based on my limited experience this is one reason why we highly recommend the sponsor of this site, www.dvcstore.com.

You can work with all and all companies at the same time, but I wouldn't put in multiple offers on different contracts at the same time if you only intend to buy 1 contract. There's nothing wrong with introducing yourself to many DVC resale agents.

Great3

Yes it's ok to call/email and work with multiple companies. You can browse yourself or you can send people to work for you. In my experience when I send people to work, they get pushy about what they have now and try to convince me to go up. By looking many places and on my own, I have been able to find some pretty good deals.

I had two offers taken in ROFR from one broker that didn’t respond quickly at all and feel like I overpaid for 2 contracts through the agent that responded quickly and was always responsive. So from my perspective it has been worth going with the agent that responded quickly. If you aren’t looking to book anything anytime soon, take your time and get a great deal! But if you want to go sooner rather than later, I wouldn’t let a few dollars keep you from buying a contract. I submitted one offer at a time. The thing I noticed was no one was out looking for a contract when I told them what I wanted. Basically they said “check our listings they get updates on such and such day” or “we have new listings all the time.” I did have one broker call me after I had already bought something else to tell me they had what I was looking for but it was probably a month or so after I initially contacted them.

I feel like I paid 10$ a point too much for one contract which would be 1500$ but I’ve already gone on three trips since Sept with those points and another one planned for Christmas, so I would do that all over again based on my experiences so far.

I hope that makes sense, basically I found value in the highly responsive agent.

Once you submit your first offer it will be easy!

I was looking for something very specific and hard to find, so I reached out to them all. I made offer on the first contract I was notified of, and the others reached out to me after I was already under contract. I think if you give them the chance to help you they will. It is win-win.
