So first step done offer accepted.
paid a few dollars more per point than I wanted but the contract was the absolute perfect number of oddball points I needed, plus it has some points banked for next year so for next years trip I will have points to bank forward and so on. In the end I was haggling over a few hundred dollars and just owning it makes me happy so I just went with it. In the end I was haggling over about $120! Figured why lose it for that.
now on to ROFR!
I asked a lot of questions here and wanted to say thanks for all the guidance and help to get me here

Congrats! I did that in the spring. Paid more than I wanted because it was indeed the perfect contract and with so many extra points, it worked out well!

I did the same thing....got my perfect contract and wanted so bad to counter the sellers counter offer and realized that I was arguing over $300 for a Poly contract which was EXACTLY what I wanted. So happy you got the right number of points and that you have what you want!

I agree and have done the same. There's a false mental satisfaction of getting a "good deal" that comes with negotiating a lower price PP. In the end it usually amounts to a small savings and is a drop in the bucket over a 50 year contract. The most important thing is getting exactly what you want. That far outweighs the premium in my opinion.
