October weather

I didn't really know where to post this, so I hope this is ok!

We are going to WDW in October (Oct 11-17) for our honeymoon, and my fiance is worried about hurricane weather. Can anyone give us advice on this? Is it anything we should be worried about? Should we get trip insurance?

We went this past Oct. 19-26 & the weather was perfect. I think Oct. is the end of hurricane season so I would'nt worry too much.

October is a great time to go

80-85 in the day. High 60's to low 70's at night. No humidity, no afternoon thunderstorms. Plenty of good wine, beer and food and the F&W. MNSSHP. Favorite time to go.

We're planning another trip for about that time, too. We've been in October and September a few times. Hurricanes are a factor at that time of the year, but as others have mentioned, there are offsetting benefits to October as well. Cooler weather with lower humidity than summer, and fewer thunderstorms (they still can happen; I can attest to that!).

You might check some websites to get more information about what Disney does when a hurricane is forecast, and what travel insurance will cover if your trip is affected by a hurricane.

We haven't tried having a trip during October but this time, some of our friends booked a trip on the first week of October. I hope, less crowds to they can totally enjoy the trip.

We went this past October. The weather is great! I would not worry about the Hurricanes.

We booked for September once and Hurricane Charlie messed us up. We did not have trip insurance and it worked out. We were able to cancel the Disney part since it was still far enough out. They also closed the Airport at Orlando and we got our airline tickets refunded.

I went in October 2006 and we had a great time. Not too hot, not cold either. Chilly at night and warm (I'm from NJ) during the day. It was perfect. Not much rain, but I guess in October it can be hit or miss.
