So, our trip next year has had to change dates due to DS1's school changing the rules on holiday leave, its gone from 10 days a year to 0. Now usually this wouldn't cause a problem for us as i wouldn't take him out for any normal holiday, but this trip was to celebrate DH turning 30:hug:

So we have had to change things around and will now be going a month earlier during October half term.........so to my question, we have never had to go during a school holiday, its always something we avoid.......what should we expect crowd wise? Also, do DLP ever have offers or flash sales that are valid for school holidays? Or should i expect to be paying full price?

I have to say i am a little sad, DH had been looking forward to turning 30 there, and i was excit4ed for the Christmas magic again......but at least we know they boys will love the Halloween stuff ~(they did last time), and it'll be my birthday during our trip instead!

TIA guys:thumbsup2

I have only ever been in school holidays (Feb and October), so I can't compare what it would be like outside of these times, but in our experience last October half term wasn't 'packed' busy. Yes, there were big queues for the usual rides (crush etc), but it was definately manageable. We made full use of EMH, and planned the rest to make sure we did what we wanted.

We booked all of our evening meals too, but except for possibly Cafe Mickey, I don't think that would have been a problem either.

In terms of offers, in the Feb half term we had free dining, and in October we got 30% off (likewise for our next trip in FEB). I think if you book it as soon as you see the offer, you shouldn't have a problem. My friend didn't book when we did, and she has now missed the offers for next Feb half term.

We always drive, as I find the transport costs are the most expensive thing in school holidays, the flights are WAY more expensive, and eurostar is expensive and sells out really quickly.

I'm sure you will have a great trip!
