OCTOBER 30th & NOVEMBER 3rd Cruises (FE and Meets)

Wow, this heat wave in the US is crazy. I live in central Florida, and it's normal for us to be 90-95 with humidity. Hopefully everyone stays safe and finds ways to keep cool!

As for me, I went out for a 7 mile run this morning...left the house at 7am, and I had to fight for each mile. I will start at 630am or earlier next week when I go out for 8 miles! It was 80 and beyond humid. Drinking lots of extra water today! I am thinking it's time to buy myself a Garmin watch like DH...my iphone running ap hiccuped this am, again, grrrr!

54 days until my next half marathon, which means DH and I will be at Disneyland in 51 days! Almost 8 weeks to add on an additional 6.1 miles. My goal, like for the WDW half marathon in January is to finish with a smile, standing up, and wanting to do another...Kinda have to as we are doing the Wine & Dine half marathon on 10/1, and WDW half marathon 1/7/12. Hopefully these extra 35 pounds start coming off!

Hello. My DD is also 7. I'm Stephanie, DH-Pete, and DD-Kayla (7). Sounds like you have a large group traveling with. It's us three in our group.

We did our online check in and reserved a few things on 7/2, the 120 day window. Hopefully you are able to book the things you want when your booking window opens. I am still watching almost daily to see if Palo brunch ressies change in availability!

Welcome back to this thread, and to the cruise.

Stephanie

Hi Stephanie:goodvibes

I get to do my online check-in on August 1. I really want Palo Brunch Reservations so hopefully there will be some left by time I can book them!

That's great that your dd is the same age as Alicia. My girls loved the clubs last cruise so I am sure they will want to go back this trip. My mom and step dad, dad and his friend:goodvibes, my brother his wife and little girl who's 1 will be crusing with us. My family lives in different parts of the US and Canada so when they heard we were going on the cruise they booked too. I am excited for the cruise but also excited to see them:goodvibes

I hope brunch reopens for you...and me too! We are platinum, and when I went on to book, just after midnight, the brunch ressies were already gone :-( I know they probably have some set aside for each booking window, hoping!

Our past two cruises we had to get brunch reservations once we got onboard my concern this time though is we probably will not board until later, the cruise is shorter and there are alot more people onboard.

Are you still having a heatwave? We are having the complete opposite this week. Had to put spring jackets on the girls on the way to camp today.

Good day everyone. Wow the board are quiet! I thought I would come back and would not beable to keep up!

I booked our air and hotel this week. We are staying at Coronado Springs for 4 days before the cruise. Not planning on spending alot of time in the parks though. Did get Halloween Tickets for the 28th at the MK. It's my favorite! Also lucked into makeovers for the girls at Bibbity Bobbity in the castle. Anyone else have plans in Disney before the cruise?

Hi Jaime,
Nice to see you back again. Thgis thread is quiet during the week but usuallt theres a good amount of posting on the weekends. I think it is quieter because Bill, Shell, and Christine are all on FB instead of here like they usually are.

Done with the family tree.:woohoo:
Now to get 54 name tags done :headache:

Back when I can,

Kathy

Thankfully it isn't as hot here today as it was yesterday! 108 on the thermostat...no telling what the heat index was! Our poor AC has been running like crazy, so I am not looking forward to my bill at the end of the month.

We are doing MK after the cruise. I am sooo looking forward to the cooler weather right now. Oct and Nov were pretty warm here last year. Seems like we go from super cold to super hot with no spring or fall the past couple of years. Hopefully it stops soon.

Yep, it's hot here in Florida, but it's ramping up to August weather...extremely hot and steamy! It's actually raining here right now...if it lasts awhile, then it should make for a nice evening. We have been in the 90's, but sooooo humid! At least we aren't seeing the 100+ temps like so many other parts of the country.

I have been reading on the boards that brunch ressies haven't been available once onboard on the 4 night cruises on the Dream...lots of guests and little availability. We will board with group #1 as we are platinum. We will try to get them, but if not, we won't starve! I really wish they would offer brunch on all days! Many ports I would rather eat brunch at Palo than get off the ship!

Hello. We will actually be heading to Cape Canaveral for a day at KSC and an overnight at CI&S the night before we cruise. I will be doing Disney things before...like working! :-) I am so blessed to live in central FL, and work at WDW, but I get so excited reading everyone else's plans.

I think we're skipping WDW before the cruise this year. We'll be driving down Thursday and Friday (and a bit on Saturday). Right now I have the Holiday Inn Express near the port booked but I'm watching for any WDW discounts because if it's a decent price I might consider staying the night before at WDW and enjoying a disney meal and whatnot.

Okay, we're just a little over 3 months out and I'm still working on the rental car. We're doing one ways from MCO to Port with drop off before the cruise then one way from Port to WDW when cruise is over. I have a decent deal right now with Budget, but I'm wondering if anyone is doing the same thing and if so what are you finding? I track the Transportation board for this kind of information but I thought I'd throw it out to our group in case I'm missing something.

Right now I've got a one way from MCO to Port in a Tauras for $58.68 including tax and a one way back from the Port to WDW in a van for $67.16 (dropping off at DoubleTree DTD). Not bad but I'm hoping to do better. We have to have either a full size or van as we are two adults and 3 kids.

As I said this is with Budget, but I don't have to go that route if I find something better.

What are guys finding??? Thanks!!!

Hey everyone hope you all had a great week I am now happy the weekend is hear its been hot here in st.louis but this upcoming week we are looking at the upper 100s which is never any fun my husband drives for aliving and i work in a gym but on hot days with glass windows around its never fun gets to humid. Does anyone have any plans? me I am just hoping to get some cleaning done and put a new part in my car that has been preventing it from starting so i am crossing my fingers that the pixie dust works in my favor lol and if i get time make it to the pool and get some sun worshiping in.

I booked my cars (10/25 MCO to PC on 27th) $87 and PC to MCO on 11/6 (10am -5pm) for $35, that was the fast-break rate for having rented previously. This was several month ago, and they started higher, but I keep checking and they each came down about $10.

Got our cruise paid off!:cool1: Need to book airfare, rental car, and hotel now. Summer is flying by! Kids have only been out of school for a month, and the stores already have school supplies out:confused3, I am not ready for that yet!
Gotta get packing, I leave for Minot, ND tomorrow to help out with the flood relief.
Have a great weekend, everyone!

Have a great weekend, everyone!

We start in 3 weeks! Our youngest will start mother's day out after Labor Day, so I'll get a list for her sometime next month.

It was a hot week here. I just wish we would have a spring and fall so that the girls could enjoy outside some. They can't stay out too long as rough as the heat is.

I had dinner and drinks last night with some friends I grew up with and some I hadn't seen in 25 years or so. We had an amazing time!

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Hi everyone! I've been away from the boards for a couple of months. Lots of new people, FUN!! As with everybody I have been crazy busy. I really need to get on the ball with this vacation. I think I will purchase our tix for MNSSHP today, planning on the 28th. We still need a car. I'm not sure what will accommodate 4 adults, 2 teens and 2 babies. We'll be at Kidani the 28th to the 30th then drive to port. We'll need a car again to drive back to BLT and then to MCO on the 6th. Any suggestions?

We would like the car because it will be much simpler with our 2 year old. He was recently diagnosed PDD NOS, high functioning autism. He eats nothing and we will need to go to a grocery store for some of the basics. I really hate the thought of attempting the busses with him.

As for Nassau, we too have been there often but the kids haven't been to Atlantis yet. I plan on doing that on our own. The big kids can do the slides with dh while me and my mom do the pools or beach with the babies. That's the plan anyway. I'm going to post as often as I can and try to keep up with everyone.

I was told Palo didn't offer brunch on the Dream. That's great if I was given wrong information. Brunch at Palo is my favorite!!

Just a quick update for Atlantis. I just booked Comfort Suites. 2 rooms for 4 adults, 2 teens and two babies, one night 10/31. I called and CS said I could check in early on the 31st. I may not be able to get in a room but we can get access to Atlantis. The room price is 166 x 2 plus taxes, it came to $463. This is a HUGE savings. If I booked this excursion through DCL it would have cost me $1014 for 6 adults. Plus it will be a bonus if I can get in a room early if the babies need a nap!!

I am curious about this...
So you booked the room essentially for access to the Atlantis waterpark area at a huge savings vs the excursion, right? That sounds like a good idea. What about the naps though? I am confused as to why you wouldn't take them to nap on the ship? Is it a distance thing? I have never done Atlantis b/c of the cost, but it sounds like it might be doable...

For those on the 10/30 4 night doing FEs....

I just counted up some numbers from the cruise mates list we received a few mths ago. I want to start picking up my FE gifts. This is what I got...
Adults-58
Kiddos- 39
Families- 24

Not sure if I will do one family gift or separate it out and do stuff for kids and adults, so I counted both ways. Hope this helps someone.....
