October 30, 2011 Wonder - A Haunting on the High Seas

Are any of you interested in a private tour which would include the Puerto Vallarta zoo? I was reading on the Trip Advisor about this zoo. Apparently, you can setup a session where you can hold and feed the animals, including baby tigers, lions, monkeys etc. sorta like you see on Jay Leno when Jack Hanna brings animals on.

The zoo is about 35 minutes from downtown and you get to see a bit of the city on the way. I have sent a message to the zoo asking what they could offer and at what cost. Also, a recommendation on transportation to the zoo. I'll share the info with you when I get it.

Meanwhile, here are a couple of links to info about the zoo:

That sounds really cool. I might be interested in joining. I have currently booked the city tour of PV, but could change that. Let me know when you get more information Val.

Hello all! Just introducing myself and subbing into this thread. We just booked a balcony room last night for myself and my husband and two girls, aged 5 and 3. So excited but so much to do to prepare!! I have to figure out my costume!:goodvibes

Looking forward to reading this whole thread when I get a few minutes to sit and relax!

Hi welcome! Looking forward to meeting you and your family !:thumbsup2

Started my FE gifts this weekend, and I didn't realize how time consuming my project was going to be!! Phew!! And I am only a quarter of the way done!! Oh well, its fun to do something creative :cutie:

53 days to go and I feel like I can't wait another second!!!

The post office has disney-Pixar Forever stamps on sale. Lightning and Mater in Cars, Remy & Linguini in Ratatouille, WALL.E, Buzz Lightyear and Dug and Carl from UP. Cute and love that they are Forever Stamps.

Hi:
Sorry..... brand new to cruising though we are Vacation Club Members! The discussion board is actually making me have more questions. ( I was under the impression I was getting a handle on what I was getting into my family into.) Ha! I can tell that this is only the beginning to my education.

My immediate two questions are:

What does GTY stand for with regards to rooms on the spreadsheet ?

And I am wondering about the t-shirts? What do they look like? What do they say?

Thanks in advance for helping me!

What does GTY stand for with regards to rooms on the spreadsheet ?

1) GTY means you are guaranteed not to be any lower than the catagory you booked but an actual room number hasn't been assigned yet.

And I am wondering about the t-shirts? What do they look like? What do they say?

2) You can see the shirt design on page# 7, Post # 104

Welcome, I too have a lot of learning to do. It seems like every day I learn something new. :confused3 I should be about half way there by the time we sail. pirate:

GTY stands for guaranteed. We are all guaranteed a cabin in at least the category we booked but DCL can assign us any cabin in that category or better.

The shirts are the picture by Jordak that says a haunting on the high seas with the ship and ghosts I think it's on page 7 or maybe 9.

Hi welcome Chantal and family, look forward to meeting you! The pic of the shirt is on page 7. They are going to be awsome ! Don't forget if you want to be in the FE exchange to list it on the spread sheet !

Dear Molly,

Thank you for choosing a Disney Cruise Line® vacation. We look forward to sailing with you and want to take this opportunity to share with you some important information as you prepare to pack for your vacation.

We’ll be celebrating Halloween on our ships this year with several themed events, including traditional trick-or-treating and a special costume parade for children on the following sail dates:

Disney Magic® - October 22, 2011 and October 29, 2011
Disney Wonder® - October 23, 2011 and October 30, 2011

Though not required, we encourage Guests of all ages to bring along their costumes for these special events. There will even be a costume contest for our adult guests on one evening with prizes awarded based on the following categories:

Funniest
Best Group
Most Spooky
Most Original
Most Disney

More information on themed nights, times and locations will be available onboard in the Personal Navigator that will be delivered to your stateroom.

All Guests are invited to wear costumes; however, we ask that you choose costumes which are not obstructive or offensive. To avoid any disappointment or delay in your boarding process, we ask that when considering costume options you refrain from bringing toys or props that resemble guns, knives or other related implements, as these items will not be allowed onboard.

Again, we look forward to sailing with you and hope you have a magical cruise.

Sincerely,

The Cast and Crew of Disney Cruise Line®"

Woo Hoo! I was so excited when I got that email, lol. My one sadness about cruising these dates was that Jack wouldn't be able to go trick or treating, and now that is solved!

I emailed the DCL rep about our Meet and Greet, still haven't heard anything, but as soon as I do I will let you know!

Thanks to those of you who were kind enough to share their e-mail from DCL with me. Am I the only one who did not get it?

I heard back from Dorothy at DCL regarding the mixology session. Here is a copy of my message and her response?

Hi Valerie,
I do have your request. The cost is now $20. I will actually start working on this the beginning of Oct.

I wanted to check-in with you and make sure you had received my original message (also left a phone message while you were on vacation).
Do you have an idea when you will know if we can plan on the private mixology session?
Your assistance, as always, is appreciated.
Valerie

I have sent a third message to the PV zoo to ask about a private tour. This time I tried to add a translation in Spanish. Will let you know if I get a response. Do any of you speak Spanish better then my high school Spanish?

Val- I think your email looks good, hopefully they will get back to you soon! I am having one of my housekeepers take a look at it, I will let you know if he thinks there is anything wrong :goodvibes Maybe since Dorothy emailed you back, she will get to mine soon :lmao: I'm in for the mixology, do you know if the $20 would just be charged on board or if we have to pay up front? Either is fine with me!

The way they have done it before is Dorothy would ask me for a list of names and room numbers of the people who should be sent a ticket. They would then be charged to their room. So, I will need a confirmation from everyone before I send their name and room number. Once confirmed, they have been very reluctant to ever remove the charge. I have gone to Brent or Jerome in GS when I felt DCL had made the mistake and they have reversed the charges. But when someone just decided they didn't want to attend at the last minute I left that up to them and DCL. The last cruise GS kept called my room whenever anyone from the DISboards had a problem about anything. The first few days I tried to be of help but I finally had to tell them I wasn't the DISboard chaperone. val
